- Welcome to Fix It Dad. This channel is about odd repairs and installation video’s. In this episode we show how to install 10x10 commercial garage door in the 30x40x14 metal building. The doors were ordered through Home Depot and were delivered after waiting for 6 months. I included some tips and tricks for installing garage doors. I used to install garage doors for a living and can install them in my sleep. Enjoy!
Thank you for posting. This is a great video, informative without a lot of fluff. I am a very mechanical guy and now feel 100% sure I can do my own install. I have a 60x100x10 that is in the dry except garage doors
It will be a 3 bedroom 2 bath with an open living-kitchen-dining area. Living will be 2200 sqft, 1800 sqft working space and about 2000 sqft for storage of tractor, implements and shop tools that are on wheels.

Man, your video is a God send. I bought a metal building kit very similar to this one. No instructions for the garage door. Lots of parts! How many ft. of that strut did you use for the installation? Thanks for sharing.
Very professional job guys 👌💪 I have a question what is the width of the rails? my pearlin are 2"1/2 is that wider enough or should I put a 2x4 to make 3"1/2
No you shouldn’t have to add 2x4
@@fixitdad9669I have a width of 2"1/2 it doesn't look like it's enough for the bracket and the rail how far dose the door come in on the edge of the beam where the rail is bolted to
My doors which are commercial measures 10’2” and opening is 10’ that leaves the door to sit an inch on each c channel.
If your door is residential on a metal building then you would have a standard 10’ door and would need to add trim.
@@fixitdad9669 the doors look similar to yours I'm not sure on the tracks also I'm going up the roof pitch
Where did you buy these doors?
I'd much rather put a sectional door in, instead of the sheet style.
I want to insulate the doors and you can only do that if there is a cavity for the foam that doesn't affect the door's operation.
Same here. Also the roll up door if it is damaged will have to entirely be replaced.
Does the door also need to be 2 inches taller, or just 2" wider? Also, is there anything else in particular that I should tell home depot to make sure that all the hardware is correct for a red iron install? I'll be ordering through milworks so I can't really choose the options from a menu. Thanks!

If your ordering a commercial door say a 10x10. It will fit in a 10x10 red iron jamb. Measure your opening.

@@massey_2298 yes order 24 gauge 12' wide x 14'h commercial sectional door m#524 clopay from home depot unless you want insulation

Здравствуйте. Ставлю ворота в России, у нас панели идут утепленые, по контуру идет резиновый уплотнитель, а так конструктив тот же, за исключением некоторых мелочей. Можно узнать сколько у вас стоит монтаж ворот? Фиксированая или же все зависит от размеров ворот.

Not sure I don't charge to install my own doors. I would think if a person bought a door say 9ft and had you install then charge them whatever you want to. 150.00$
