This arrangement is mainly done by Jasper Hu. tbh, I wasn't into it when I firstly heard it in Sumeru in 3.0. But I guess like everyone else, whenever I hear it now, it recall the story of Greater Load Rukkhadevata.

I started to believe the developer intentionally use this theme for that emotional cutscene, so whenever the theme plays again, we as the Traveler will remember Rukkhadevata's sacrifice.
I listened to this song SO MANY times and I always felt some longing from it, when it played on this scene it was like "ah, so this is what this song means", it was literally like having my memory rewritten
That actually clicks.
Ah, so that's what it was..."longing"!! I could feel this pain in my chest when listening to it, but I couldn't tell what it was.

@@Nica_DM its description was changed, the name Rukkhadevata now described as a big tree in Sumeru in which idefk what that is
@@Nica_DM Rukkhashava actually means "Tree Corpse", so it doesn't directly relate to Rukkhadevata. But then again Rukkhadevata means Tree God so who am I to say anything.

She is not yet fully forgotten though, the statue of seven in sumeru is tiny Rukkadevatta holding baby branch Nahida in a ball, her seat in the eternal oasis, her name is still there.
It's heartbreaking to think, that sumeru's days will just go on, without ever really knowing the sacrifice made by their former archon whom they no longer remember. You'll forever be in our Minds and our hearts, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.

I can't listen to this track the same way again. That cutscene destroyed me.
I remembered what the Aranara say about forgetting, and tears just started coming. They really thought out this whole area.
A lot of scenes in genshin made me tear up a bit or feel very emotional, but during this one, when i saw nahida cry, i couldn't stop myself from crying with her. It just hurt to see Nahida so sad and the people of sumeru forgetting..

The Sumeru's quests about forgetting and memories just hit so hard to me considering I lost someone. May I never know the day when I forget.

I too think this song kinda plain when I first heard it as Sumeru BGM in 3.0
But, like many Sumeru song, they arrange this and pair with such emotional cutscene very smoothly. Made this my fav cutscene in this game so far.

I cant say a solo piano can do this song justice. The songs arrangement, accompaniment, atmosphere, and meaning behind what really sells.
The original makes you relive the moment in your head and a slight tear will come out.
In this scene i can hold my tears, but when it come to dissappearing of eleazar i can't hold it anymore and cry like a baby
Thematically, The usage of certain phases in the song is what entrenches this song in Sumeru's OST. But its still its own song. It captures Nahida so perfectly and the overall story - calling back to everything we've gone through, all the emotions in the Story. Which is what I love about Genshin OSTs. Perfect clash of meaningful music, without overexaggerating musicality. Just Mastery. Great work as always Chaconne!

i have insomia sometimes it last 4days the shorter is 2days sometimes i can sleep comfortably if I'm really tired from work and i play this song not every day to prevent me to get bored from repetitive sound

Without a doubt, the saddest cutscene in the game. I literally cried when Nahida collapsed in tears after purifying the remnants of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.
Maybe the best theme Hoyomix has ever done (until now at least, they always surpass themselves lol) for Genshin Impact. And all the story around it and the cutscene where it plays, just by writing this comment, tears are coming. I have a Hoyomix in my eyes LOL and this piano version is great. Well done !
I just finished this story quest a few hours ago. And this pop up in my fyp. This story has become my favorite. Only the traveler memories remains. Truly heartbreaking.

I mean, we can see that the traveler does really care about them. 🥺 We players were the only ones who remember her. 💔
