Great video! I always use cow panels to grow zipper cream peas - it works great. This way picking peas is a breeze, no bending over! This spring we put 12 quart bags of peas in the freezer from a 16 foot row of peas. Take care...
That's how I knew my hubby was the man for me....when I found out that he loved watching The Weather Channel as much as I did! :) Glad you guys made it through the storm ok. I like both the trellis and the arch, but the trellis is the only one I would have enough garden space for.
So glad you did not sustain much damage from Hurricane Idalia. The hanging trellis is a good idea and looks like it should work well. Thanks for the suggestion! 😁. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 9/8/2023.
Just talked to your mother at the Fall Garden Festival in Alabama. She told me about your gardening channel. I did watch your camping channel but haven’t seen any this year so I’m glad that there a new channel to watch. 🤟🏼
We have five foot 2X4 wire mesh that we use for our peas/beans. Been watching you and the Hortanova mesh. Planning on doing more trellises next Spring. So that is now on our to buy list. Yes, the list that always seems to grow and never go away. As always Thank You for another fun and informative video!
That might have helped if I had about 4" or more sticking out the end of each tee. Those 30-40 mph winds had those cukes swinging back and forth pretty good.
At around a quarter a foot, I haven't found it's worth it to try and save it. I guess you could though. We usually just toss it at the end of the growout.
It might be time that you start bee herding as part of your farming. I just taste-tested one of my first meads which is only 4.1% ABV and it is super refreshing. Sort of like drinking a slightly alcoholic Fresca given I used 'Scotch Broom' honey.
Good content, I would like to try them Tennessee purple climbing peas if you could get a name and or a place to purchase them would be great. Thanks and keep up the good work! 😊
Thanks for the tip on the trellis, I'll pick some up in the spring. I've heard that sunflowers produce a chemical that acts as an herbicide. Ever had any issues planting so close to them?
I wwork just south of Perrry, a day a week in Mayo, the shop was out of power till a couple days ago. everything back to normal now, pretty much, still some flickering still, but back to work! Great videos as always Trav

Great video! The duck photo bomb at the end is the best!😂
I'm glad everything is okay at LDF
Two of my favorite channels 😊
Glad damage was minimal😊

Mmm...love some purple hull peas cooked with okra and banana peppers or a little jalapeño
I love watching the storms too. My office was closed 2 days because of the hurricane here in SW Florida.

Cool hearing about hurricanes
Hopefully the corn will right itself. I don't think you'll have to worry about the fig trees, they should right themselves in a few days.
I enjoy watching the storm systems too
Glad to see you all are ok. Keep on keeping on
Can we get the dang lazy dog and special guest HOSS already, man dam ! Show the old man some love ❤️
I have no interest in stepping foot in that place ever again.

I just love your trellis set up! That really does make using the Hortonova trellis material a lot easier!
we got lucky here N. FL too. thanks for pronouncing (v)Idalia correctly too ;)
Thanks for all the amazing info. ❤️🙏
You have a lot of good ideas , and your garden plots are so neat and clean.
I like the trellis but I really want to build one of those Arch cow panel tunnels in my small garden
Here thomas county my corn was not bad stood them back up and rehilled, string between rows really help not going side ways.
I have found that "T's" on the end T-Posts will let you run the piping through and will prevent fall out.

That looks like a nice system. Do you reuse the netting?

@@LazyDogFarm Thanks for getting back to me Travis, much appreciated. Will have to put it on my garden wish list.

What do you use when insects are eating up your peas and beans once you plant them into the ground?
Depends on what the pest is. If it's pea curculio (which we get alot down here), there's really nothing you can do.
What do you do for weed control? We are organic and it's a struggle
Lots of cover crops and frequent, shallow cultivation.

Haven't had any issues. These peas germinated pretty fast and are looking good.
As i sit awaiting todays 107 degrees...and still no rain i was just thinking hownthe hell was a going to grow my peas and carrots
Ĺo ve the trelllis
dont break your neck!!!

Dude, the guns look good. Lie about your age and help them Dawgs.
Haha! The Dawgs don't need my help.
