Welp, Ive been making cups for years now and never seen one like that. I got right to work! WOW, its now my favorite. I put a school of fish and a seahourse with the turtles and glow in the dark blue glitter inside. I really appreciate the step by step. I also took woodburner tool and melted thru the plastic so i didnt have to have plastic flying at me. had the smell but no flying pieces.
I am in love with all sea creatures and have been looking for something that will make my mom happy, we lost my dad awhile back and anything to do with creatures of Sea will make her smile. Thanks for the inspiration and your daughter too!!
I love it! I picked up a piping bag set that came with tips at the Dollar General and I use one of the tips to get the glitter in the hole! It works very well because the hole is bigger than one would be on a funnel 🙂 maybe something you can try to make your life easier, lol. Aurora has beautiful hair by the way. I’m jealous!
This is beautiful! You talked about needing to cover the uv resin with food grade resin... do you know if it's OK to use uv resin only when you are just sealing the bottom hole and not putting resin anywhere else? TIA
Have you done the peekaboo with the power wash? That is something I would loved to have seen. Darn it that is the part I was hoping to see. This is amazing. I am not into and don't have a desire to do a shaker/sno globe cup. But I do love watching your videos, listening to your voice is so calming and seeing what you create. Did you spray the power wash over the vinyl then spray paint the three color or did you use power wash between each color of spray paint?
Thats a really cool take on mixing different styles and techniques! Would adding a little mineral oil 1st before the chunky glitter help with getting smaller air pockets?
You can do that, but you would have to let the cup site for a bit so the oil settles. If not then the glitter you pout in will stick to the sides where the oil collected
I’ve just started doing the shaker tumblers. How do I get my glitter to flow freely? It tends to clump together in little clumps thru out my tumblers and doesn’t separate fully. I use half glycerin and half water. Is it the glitter I’m using??
I'm so jealous, i want to make that so bad and I have the cups but I didn't know I would have to cut it open even thou I have a Dremel Tool. Also so many people say you can't or shouldn't put epoxy on plastic or acrylic cups because the epoxy seeps through the walls of the cups which could harm a person. You did it and I love it, but what do you think about what people say?
If you don't want to cut it like I did here you can still make the cup with oil mixture and glitters and place vinyls and epoxy on the outer layer. I will show you a pic of one I've done
@Emersyn Aurora Design okay, so my question is the epoxy part is on the layer of plastic that is on the inside of the cup. The drink is on the opposite side of the glittered/epoxy side. I have heard of using these storyboard cups but on the outer side and the water, baby oil, or whatever it is your using to fill it & glitter to make the snow globe effect in-between the layers of plastic. So the epoxy layer is not directly in contact with what is being drank. All epoxy is food safe & compliance. Just the same as when we use it it is not safe without our PPE. It's beautiful just not for me Sorry
These are double walled cups. The resin I use is food safe fda compliant resin. It's safe. It's not a good idea to resin a single walled acrylic or plastic cup because they aren't as strong and the resin could crack
What resin do you used to stick the glitter between the the walls? When I used glitter and baby oil my glitter moves sooooo slow. That’s how it has to be?!! I saw another cups that they move faster. Thanks.
Love it! She did a great job picking out the colors.
One of the prettiest ones I've seen yet! Great eye for color & design Aurora!!!

That's a different way to open it up. I've only seen people drill a hole at the bottom. Thanks for this new idea to me. :)

Oh that is a great tip! I’m going to give that a try too! Thank you for sharing
It’s beautiful.
Thank you so much! I'm gonna try and make this. ❤️
Yes! Thanks!
Turned out so beautiful, I’ve never made one I will have to add it to my to do list.
Thank you!
I love the cup is gorgeous. Can you tell how has the resin held up with the liquid added?
Cute cup! My question is…how does the oil not eventually dissolve the inner epoxy? I’ve always been told not to soak an epoxied item.
If u find the cups like thay at follar general or family dollar a lot of those cups just pop apart wit a small screw driver

I sprayed the 3 blues in an ombre over the vinyl first, then I used the power wash, sprayed the white and tada!
I have other tutorials here that are power washed, the owl opal cup, and rainbow unicorn cup. Both tutorials are on my page

How did the sea turtle tumblers hold up over time
They are still the same. 😁
Comment as tu fais l’effet de bulle
Can you use silicone adhesive to seal instead of us resin? That uv resin is expensive!
I'm not sure, but it's worth a try. You would need to let it sit for some time to check if it would leak

I had the same thoughts. I wonder if clear spray paint would be better than epoxy?
I was wondering the same thing
I would not use epoxy. After a while the chemicals in the epoxy will breakdown the plastic in the cup. You can use Grand Finale or Hyperion.
Why cut it to pieces when you could’ve just put a hole at the bottom and plugged it.
I thought your not suppose to drink out of a plastic cup that has epoxy on it.
