Excellent instruction Jason! My only recommendation for the viewers, from a budget racer, is to prep all the tires for gluing and THEN open the glue and prepare the tip. The less time that bottle is open, the longer the glue will last.
without the holes the air would get out on landings. some time ago there where 1-2 holes on the rims, then you dont need it in the tires. If you ever forget to punch holes in you will understand how bad that is ;)
When running outdoors you want the holes in the tire surface to allow dirt to escape from the tire. On a packed indoor track not so much dirt gets into the tire, so some punch vent holes in the tire and some just use the vent holes that are already molded in the rim.
Mark Brown yes I agree , I'm a long time racer and air in the tire is the last thing I care about .. it's the dirt staying in the tire , not only if you didn't put holes in the tire you would get dirt build up in the tire and it would cause lumps and throw off the Tire Balance big time , I care more about tire Balance .. any ways with the holes on the Tires it allows the dirt to be released out of the tire and not trapped in the tire .. hope this helps
No the hole in the tire is for air ventilation because when the tire warms up it will start to balloon and then you will have less tire touching the surface
Echo Fearr it's going to balloon no matter what as soon as you get on the gas / full rip the tire is going to balloon , to help the balloon from happing MIP sells the tire tape to help stop ballooning from happening .. .. go watch the Adam Drake video he will brake it down .
The purpose of punching a hole into the tire is to equalize the inside pressure of the tire to outside barometric pressure changes. You will notice that most rc rims will have a hole for this purpose but some rims don't come with a hole. The down side of having a hole in the rim is that it allows dirt, water, etc to get trapped inside the tire. By having at least one hole in the tire itself, this will allow for that debris an avenue to escape. Jason's four hole method is probably for added redundancy. I hope this helps.
Most of the guys at MHOR here in Denver hole punch their tires including the factory racers who do pretty well for themselves at the top level of competition.

Jason brings the "A" to R/c ! .. We all thank you Jason !!
Great Video Jason, just got into 1/8th, picked up Rc8b3.1, Rc8b3.1e and Rc8T3.1 , pop pop Panda King
Viewers.. set speed to 2x.. you're welcome
Great video and good information for setups! I'm going to apply this to my clodbuster build.
I've seen guys marking numbering them also when they glue up multiple sets. G1, G2, G3 and so on to prevent mixing them up.
Great video.
thanks for the demo
Where can I get the bench mats that you have here?
Before I glue on tires. I spin them to check to see that they run smooth and with no run out,
Why do you put holes in the tyres using a tyre punch? What does putting holes in the tyre do? Does they same apply to 1/10 tyres?

Lol the heat shrink tip came from tessman's video using proline glue/tips
I don't need to punch holes in my new 2.6 Jconcepts Fling Kings do I?
Why punch holes in New tires ...I never see this...but I seen someone punch one hole not four ..can you explain why ...thanks

Just a quick question what tire release agent do you use??
Do you know superglue is very flammable
naked flame on glue brilliant !!
Do you glue on the side or the bottom?
Do you balance your tires?
this is like watching paint dry
Make a video on glueing 10th scale tires
no it's not because of the bead is different. I just what to see he methods of gluing them
There are two types of beads 2.2 and 2.4 (2.4 is what he is using)
i still reckon the best tyre bead cleaner is wax and grease remover
Simple green, proven over and over again! Actually people have tested it too.

T H I C C boi acetone also works well
Kinda kinda kinda
Kinda
People can save alot of money buying glue, pens ect from the store and not buy overpriced crap from them
