That Teddy Long story had me rolling 🤣
As they often do.😁
Wresling stories have a uniqueness about them ... they are awesome. In fact, i quit watching mid-ruthless era, but Still consume rassling thru channels like this and Many more, as it is interesting To look at it with an adult look( im 46) .
As an exemple, i now know that my hero, hogan... well, he was a massive cunt.
Reflecting on this ... good lord that the attitude era was amazing, nothing compare To it, and never Will, because in ring storytelling is dead, it is just a succession of spot, and matches have been formated To fit the tv formula.
Only Levesque, who look like a student of the...game can save WWE from going under within.10 years, mark my word.
Reality's a bitch: Many left winger (in canadian, so i am impartial here) dont seem To understand that Donald Trump, a good friend of vince, had gone To great lenght To alleviate the backlash of covid.
Just a snarky remark.😉
The only problem is its wrong, or maybe the same thing happened twice. Ron told the story in an interview for wwe magazine and Bradshaw told in on WWE story time. In both cases teddy was sober, driving and they left Ron in the snow.
@@lilsunny7399 well, maybe it was payback...
Me too because I was picturing the whole scene in my head. 😂🤦🏽♂️
Ron had the perfect physique for wrestling. Looked like a character straight out of a He-Man episode. One of my favourites.
Yes he did, surprised he never had a run with the title in WWF
Why is that perfect ?
@@darknightbegins85 Possibly but by the time he got to the WWF, he didn't need the title. If he had gotten there earlier, right around the time that Ahmed was first getting over, Ron would have made a good WWF champion. Ron also wasn't as agile when he got to the WWF. He was also heavier when he got there. The Nation was over and later his run with the APA made it so that Ron didn't need to have the title. The APA made him more of a badass considering that the guys would go to him for protection. Someone like that doesn't need the title.

I never hated any of the “Damn!” Segments. They were all good. I like how they would pan to Ron Simmons after something ridiculous happened
Funniest damn segment imo was when he walked in on the hardy boys watching Candice Michelle "cooling off". Lol
I think it was JBL who said that Simmons made more money for the "Damn!" segments than he ever did as WCW champion. Course he could have been blowing smoke when he said that
@@cra0422 I wouldn't doubt it considering the money in WWE
Also the one with Iron Sheik and another one with Haas and Benjamin lol
Agreed.
Doom was legit the only Tag team that could have beat the Road Warriors straight up! No interference or run ins
Steiners ,,,,Haku Meng Barbarian ...........Hansen Brody ..
The Steiners would like a word.
@@MrBruceWolf I wish the Steiners had a more badass gimmick. The college letterman jackets were lame. Also, why didn’t the Steiners ever have a single storyline? That hurt them
Butch Reed is my uncle. I wish I was old enough to see their matches when they were together. I’m a fan of Ron.
Hello sir! Is your uncle on social media
Brother Prater no not that I know of
The Sports Network lol why tf would I lie about something like that?
Last Drop Falls lmao wtf are u even talking about bruh? Where tf do u see a white boy?
@@dsgout9136 If you get a chance, tell him that he needs to. I would like to meet or interview him
I remember hearing that snowstorm story on the WWE Network. It was Ron Simmons who got left behind in the blizzard. Teddy Long was driving and he made it 15 miles before he realized that Ron wasn't in the car.
They also told this story in WWE Magazine, recreating the story with action figures.
Yep. Ron even said to me about the story "And than they drove off without me. They came back and I'm all covered in snow? Yeah that story is true."
@@garrettedwardspears fake news
Jim told the same story a different way here ua-cam.com/video/kR8dqFFSN3Q/v-deo.html
@@shawn9753 dam it Cornette, get it together.
Back when the rock join the nation of domination, and he would always try to undercut Ron's leadership
Ron with that slow deep menacing.." *you jus begging me to Whip yo azz...* "
When Rock gave him a poster of him
Ron with the right singles push could have been huge in the WWF
He should have at least restarted the feud with Austin after he won the belt. Not beat him but at least get 2 PPV shots with him
@Millennial Smark you're an idiot. One of 2 things you absolutey DO NOT WANT to do in today's world is a a racially themed gimmick or story line. The backlash from both sides of divude would destroy your company. The other is a sexually insensitive story---anything from rape to a boss harrassing employee. The negative publicity would ruin careers of any one involved.
@ShadowAngel color me shocked that a big black NWA/WCW champ didnt draw well in Georgia and the Carolinas in the early 90s. That era was too soon for him and too soon for southern rasslin. As a kid I always thought he was a top guy around 90 or 91, but at that time WCW fans wouldn't have really wanted anyone as the champ other than Flair or Sting. I Ioved him and Bradshaw as The Acolytes later on.
i agree always like him
Jumbo Incredible True 🤔
Kudos for the Doom shoutout! As a teenager, I recall thinking, during their all-too-brief partnership, “These are the only guys who should be able to legitimately stand toe-to-toe with the Road Warriors.”
I agree wholeheartedly! I was a teenager during that era and I felt the exact same way.
They were tag champs for 9 months which was pretty good. Always liked Doom
BS - Rude / Manny did it as NWA Tag Champs.... Also The Russians matched up well too...
@@mdhotstuff Powers of Pain in 88 before Crockett though it was a good idea to ask POP to get on a scaffold.
Doom was a great team. I wished that they would've lasted longer than two years.
I heard the Steiners NEVER messed with Ron back in WCW.
Ron Simmons talked about that in a shoot interview years ago. The Steiner's liked to fuck with people. They played nice with Ron though. Lol
An ass whipping is always a great detour 👍
FACTS..they knew they’d get their asses whipped💯
I heard that nobody messed with Ron
either Steiner would've took Ron, but they had respect for him as a legitimate athlete.
I thought that was Drew McIntyre in the car.
😆😆😆
I wish Meng & Ron had had themselves a match. The manly meter would of been off the chart
Can you imagine Meng and Farooq as a tag team?!!
From what I have heard these two were the toughest of them all.
I’m not sure about now, but Ron Simmons was one of two football players (The other player was NFL HOF CB Deion Sanders) whose jerseys retired at Florida State.
like 12. my cousin goes there right now
seminoles.com/current-retired-numbers-jerseys/
I think Ron might have been the first.
He also was in prison
jesse j sevilla relevant how exactly?
Reginald Pippin junk junk
That beatdown they gave Public Enemy, Damn!!! R.I.P. Flyboy Rocco Rock and Johnny Grundge
*Grunge!!!
Their both dead?
Vince unfortunately didn't see the talent that Ron possessed which is why is why he remained a lifetime mid carder in WWF/WWE
But APA was cool as fuck💯💯💯
@@priyadarshidash4353Ron was a mid card performer.
@@Dakatari true
He seen it , knew it wrong skin tone .....unless your the Sell out Rock HHH and Stone Cold
I knew Ronnie when I was a kid and hanging around all the WCW guys in the late 80's and 90's. Ron is a great dude, very, very trustworthy guy.
Ron had the perfect fro..and a national treasure. Give this man his flowers
Always liked Ron Simmons. The Acolytes were one of the better tag teams in WWF. DAM!
Ron Simmons is still big as a brick wall. I met him in 2018 when he toured Canada with CWE - Canadian Wrestling Elite. He’s very nice with the fans, I had my photo taken with him and my fist next to his looks like a small Child’s
I met Big Show in 2001. I shook his hand. His hand engulfed mine and wrapped around half of my forearm. My forearms are bigger than the average man’s biceps.
I heard Bradshaw tell this story before but in his version Teddy was driving and Ron got left behind. JBL kept telling Teddy that they left Ron and Teddy would say " y'all always messin with me all the time playin around quit messin with me" he finally convinced him to look and see that Ron was gone then at that point they turned arounf for him....??
That Snow Storm story is one of my favorite wrestling stories. I think Ive heard all 3 tell it on video one way or another.
I knew when I saw Ron Simmons in FCW - he was gonna be a huge star... JR loved him.. the same way he loved Dr Death Steve Williams....Anytime JR called a Ron Simmons match, he was gonna be made to look great...
That snowman in the thumbnail 🤔 something about him screams playa hata ball 🤔
Nitron was Tyler Mane, better known as Sabertooth in the first X-Men movie.
I knew The Minnesota Wrecking Crew II were Enos and Bloom immediately. Their body language and Bloom's mike work were very distinctive.
Mane was also Michael Myers in the soso remake.
Ole Mikey Myers
Enos and Bloom were underrated as hell
I only knew them as the Beverly Brothers in WWF and always liked them.
The Destruction Crew!
I always love when they have someone who can deliver a line perfectly to people and get a reaction like they just punched them in the face, Ron saying DAMN! and Jericho with “you just made the list!” are two of the best
Never heard Jericho say that
@@mdhotstuff You just made the List!
OMG, that is a hysterical story with Teddy Long and Bradshow slamming the door at the same time and Ron taking off and not realizing he left Teddy in the snow.
Ron shined when promoters had their favorites. His WCW run is my favorite as champ.
Ron Simmons was Nuclear Bomb Explosive. He accidentally injured Ken Shamrock ribs with a crushing spine buster. Every move (spine buster, leg drop, drop kick etc) was a finisher. The most underrated worker of all time.
Injuries happen. The women get hurt too so dont think its nothing to brag about. Sure it wasnt on purpose
Ron Simmons the most underrated in wrestling history, he should be held same regard s super fly jimmy snuka
Ron Simmons never killed anyone though . But I get what you mean .
The Snowman Teddy Long story is gold 😂
Except Jim got the story wrong, it was Ron who got left behind and Teddy was driving
I want Jim Cornette to say the eulogy at my eventual memorial service!!! He could make my life sound interesting as all hell lol!!!
Love the show guys. Thank you for saving history Jim. Great memories
Ron Simmons was one of the all time greats. Period
Leaveing Teddy in the snow story was hilarious😂😂😂
Now these segments I truly enjoy. I love his stories, his knowledge and how he understands wrestling.
Looks like Room Simmons, Drew McIntire, and Hank Hill on the pic 😂
Loved the APA
Doom was really cool; too bad they didn't last long. As a single, Ron was awesome. Even as a kid, I understood how huge/important it was when he beat Vader.
I heard him tell that same snow story but teddy was driving and Ron was left in the snow 🤔
This is absolutely over the edge classic stuff!
Nitron (Tyler Mane) however did play the original Sabertooth in the X-Men and Michael Myers twice (being the 1st person to do consecutively and 2nd total).
This is an awesome story, respect to Mr. Ron Simmons.💯
Teddy Long is straight Money!! He seems like a really fun guy to be around, and the man has a great gift of Gab as well...👍🇺🇸
Great APA Teddy Long story! Ron Simmons was pretty awesome,

Wasn't sure where you were going with that comment...
Only when he's looking @ his notes.
@@jasonpdsi , DAMN!
Corny deserves an award for avoiding the word "black"
I loved the Destruction Crew in AWA back in the middle to late eighties because they were witty and they did an angle where the crew was suspended for doing what basically was what Legion Of Doom did for a finisher for years in WWF.
The AWA had the same top-rope ban as Mid-South
Ron Simmons was great. He was exceptional on the mic and also a great worker. I used to love hearing Ron cut a good promo.
We need more content! But the last 2days been 🔥 I guess I'm just greedy for more 🤷♂️
The omnibus will hold you over
I love to hear Jim Cornette tell stories. He tells them as if I'm there while its happening. No one could tell a story better and he tells it like it is. I never liked him when I was a child, but after growing up, I've learned he is a solid man that tells it like it should be told. That's how I was raised
Need more stories like that that was great I laughed and I dont do that often
Just imagine being without a cell phone in the middle of a snowstorm and your friends just drive off on you in the middle of Massachusetts...I l love old school wrestling.
I would like it when Miami plays Florida State to see the Rock on the Miami sideline and Ron Simmons on the FSU sideline.
Doom vs the Steiner Brothers... Classic!!!
Ron Simmons was world champ level period. The look, a shaft like personality, respect from everyone, being a legit badass. He could of been a world champ from anytime from 92-98 if booked properly
Referencing the WWF's creative services as the 'Chilly McFreeze folks' made me laugh out loud.
Cornette got the story wrong. Teddy was the driver and left Ron Simmons in the snow lol
I thought NITRON was Kevin Nash after the OZ gimmick back in the day lol
“Vanilla Ice haircut” 😂
Ron should have been pushed more when he was in WWF.
Little known fact: Aside from his great high school and college football back ground, Ron Simmons also was a good high school amateur high wrestler.
2:26 I'm CRYING!!! LMFAO!!!
Saw the Machines (Super and Big) vs Studd and Bundy. Never knew i actually saw Ax and Blackjack.
Met the APA at a House Show in Kansas City. Cool guys.
....oh my goodness. I would have love to see a match between Ron Simmons against Stan Hansen. Those two are a tie as my favorite wrestlers of all time.
The other Master Blaster was a federal informant that went into the federal witness relocation program after testifying against a one-percenter motor-cycle club that he had been a member of. Got a hundred-thousand dollars a year for about 5 years until they cut him loose because he was as good an informant, as he was a wrestler.
We need a good 10 minute video dedicated to the original Master Blasters.
APA One of my fav tag teams ever!
i loved Ron Simmons "date" with Maria back in the mid 2000s. I know Jim would hate it because it had Santino Marella in it but I thought it was pretty funny when Simmons just kept rhyming things with damn! lol
The 2 out of 3 falls match he had with Luger (HH91) is probably one of the best Luger matches you'll see. That speaks a lot to how great Ron really was. Its too bad his title run wasn't booked well at all, but I love me some Ron Simmons.
I love this story, I remember bradshaw told this story on WWE story time
Ron Simmons is one of the coolest guys I've ever met.
And toughest
Why is Drew McIntyre riding shotgun with Simmons? lol
it's dave Grohl
Looks more like Keanu Reeves to me lol
I heard Farooq and Austin was suppose to be a rivalry before the Rock went solo from NOD. Damn, (no pun intended) that woulda been crazy.
WWE creative: silly--
Ron Simmons: DAMN(like a shotgun blast)!!!!
His move set always looked devastating and when he used to brown and look angry and mean after the slam, that was always great sell.
At the start of the video, I'm like why is teddy long a snowman......awww i bet we got a story thats gonna make me cry laugh!
APA in the bar and a bar fly says 'do you know who I am ?' Ron replies 'Yeah I know who you are, you about to get yo ass kicked'. That's my favorite Ron Simmons moment lol
Imagine how nervous the person was who had to hand him the helmet .
Cory Pendarvis would appear to be the identity of Master Blaster Iron, whose WCW career lasted one match. Al Greene was then brought in as Master Blaster Blade to team with Kevin Nash aka Master Blaster Steel.
The guy that played Nitron is actually an actor now and played in the remake of Halloween and Halloween II as Michael Myers
Its true I just Google it!
I catch these cornette clips from time to time. Every time, cornette knows best. Smartest guy in the room type. I love oldschool wrestling stories but the nerd needs to relax with correcting dates by a month.
Nitron (Tyler Mane) played Sabretooth in the first X-Men movie. He was 6'8".
poor teddy out in the cold 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Damn" - Ron Simmons
I thought the whole Damn thing came from when Bradshaw turned his back on him
This fucking story is brilliant and the thumbnail is so perfect
Aw mah gawd! It's Farooq an' Bradshaw!
Black peoples were gladiators in Rome
and Farooq is definitely a name a moor would have had back in those times.
We goin' to the colisseum, sucka!
“We wuz Kangz”
I could’ve sworn I heard this story with Teddy Long being the driver and Ron Simmons being the one that was left? 🤔
yes
Gravydog316 So Cornette is mistaken?
Proof or shut up
@@Gravydog316 yes I've heard the same thing on Table For 3 from Ron himself!!20
It was Ron,Bradshaw&Teddy on Table for 3
Nitron is now Sabertooth in the X Men movies and was Micheal Myers in one of the Halloween reboots
Best podcast throwing down.
Nitron was Tyler Mane who would go on to be Sabertooth in the X-men movie and Michael Myers in rob Zombie's Halloween remakes.
I worked with Butch and his little brother Tim good guys. Both were big boys that's for sure.
Jim- Florida 1986. Brian- it was 82. Jim- oh alright.. Never the lessss...(pause)... Mr. Calender. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. thats funny shit!
I think Ron did his best work as part of a tag team. Doom was great and so was the APA. The APA was a dominant team and their protection agency made for some of the best backstage segments the WWF ever produced. Considering that Ron was older and wasn't as agile by the time he got to the WWF, the change to more selling from Ron and more power moves was a good choice. Ron would sell and Bradshaw would come in and brawl. Ron had one of the best Spinebusters in the business.
Nation of domination
@@royalty843 They later became outshined by The Rock.
I would have loved to seen Doom vs Dr.Death Steve Williams & Terry Gordy that would have been a great brawl
Teddy is the one who left Ronnie outside on the snowstorm
Butch Reed was also an NFL player before becoming a pro wrestler, albeit a short career. Great wrestler, be him paying babyface or (usual) heel.
I wish there was actual videos of Ron Simmons doing some of the stuff everyone talks about, because the reality is, if you can't see it it didn't happen
