Great movie. It will go down as a classic. Powerful, artistic and fun.
This movie was a joyful experience from beginning to end. The music was so amazing and beautiful, perfect! I have to say that the other best picture nominees were relatively difficult to watch, in that their seriousness detracted from the sheer exuberance of immersing oneself in a story, a fable, a true journey alongside Bella. Will watch this film many more times, a masterpiece.
Very well said. I'm genuinely super negative when the oscars choose best picture but with poor things getting a nomination and everything everywhere and parasite winning in the past few years maybe the academy is getting better at choosing fun and different films
I just watched the movie not knowing what to expect and I was wowed! The dialogue was amazing and often funny. It covered all genres.
The Wizard of Oz , Emma is adorable as Dorothy, Willam Defoe as the Wizard is a revelation, the two witches , East and West , the brothel owner and the boat lady , the men as the cowardly lion ,the tinman and Scarecrow, very clever but the director doesn't try to hide this especially with the black and white beginning, so ultra modern that it's positively before and after it's time , a fairytale for a new generation.
