Learning AI, But…

- It seems to me that having to pay attention to college assignments would slow everything down a lot. 🫠
If your in a similar situation, first go talk to someone with more LIFE experience than you. Then, I would go watch Alex Hormozi's video on the topic. Helped with the decision making and allowed me to think through costs/benefits of going to college or skipping out.
I still have more to learn about AI, but the foundations have been laid. 🏠 - Розваги
I'm with you man. I feel you. College in Germany isn't costing me anything and that's the only reason I kept it aside, but other than that, I proceed to self-learn programming full time (8 hours a day at 5 days a week)
That’s great man! Keep grinding 💪
How one can study there for free like you...?
@@Gorav14 it costs just some fees and for the bus ticket which I don't even use around 300€ for the whole semester so it is nothing I guess
What do you think of getting into programming atm with how well AI is starting to be able to code? Just want to hear your perspective and how you think about it
@@willwimbiscus7456 Oh I'm not an expert there.. but I can assume that you have to put the same effort into programming/learning as one did 10 years ago, meaning that if it took them 6 months to develop an app with not much help from ai or online resources, but equal effort and time spent, it should take you 1-2 months to create it nowadays. This also means that jobs will require more skills..
everyone at your Gym started this new magical workout and got bigger, what do you wanna do now? do steroids? do the same magical workout? or stay on your slow progress. All your choice at the end
You really found a way to get infinite 3:00 am motivation😭

Congrats on the journey and you could share resources where you learn .
Thank you and sure thing! I just finished ML foundations by Jon Krohn. It’s on Udemy and UA-cam (Udemy covers exercise answers but UA-cam one is free!)
Best of luck buddy , Even I have the same problems so I am doing 200 days challenge for machine learning and writing about my progress on medium . Stay motivated 💪
good stuff. I couldn't find a coop this summer so I am trying to 1. grind leetcode 2. work on personal projects 3. go to the gym. I should also add in some personal time for reading or maybe learning a language.

Love the end screen with your plan. I wonder how you'll apply it in an app. Any thoughts yet? Of course the longer term view is most important.

watched this and the previous one. everything looks so top notch - be it video or editing. would be better and helpful if you share your learnings through a doc which would also help everyone starting out to learn AI. all the best.

we share the same passion for learning AI and what I'm surprised to see is that we both have the same feeling for colleges as well. Unfortunately, I can't drop out however I loved to.

loved the video, what did you use to stick your notes to the walls?
I bought a sticky note easel pad
Great video, I completed a master's in ML and haven't touched on a lot of the foundational concepts for a while - was wondering which resources you're currently using to study?

@@BarrettBower yah I saw you replying to other and research about the jon krohn ML FOUNDATION and found it very helpful, core basics are much well detailed.
Thanks and keep going
Barrett this is fire. Do you have a curriculum or study plan for your journey?
Thank you Edward! First was the basics, I just finished up ML foundations by Jon Krohn. Next, I’m planning to build a ML model. Then, I’ll learn how AI can be implemented into businesses.
SUBD, right away dope edit.
Thanks!
To retain the vast subject matter of AI, you must use it, program with it, and then create it.
the same reason i dont go to college more often , for me college is like not the best use of my time
Can relate man. I can't learn by traditional way of attending classes, I bad at listening in a conversation and socially not that attentive. I'll just get zoned out and start daydreaming. I realized school and college is not for me. The way I learn better is reading(books, web material and courses) or watching videos that are slow paced.
But where I live, people won't get it and even my parents. I'm getting forced into going college and colleges here have a very weird rule of 75% attending class criteria. I don't know what am I going to do
Try it out and see what it’s like. With your parents, I can’t know for sure what to do because I’m not them, but talking to them and thinking through it with them would probably help. They’ve gone through this whole “growing up” thing before, and they most likely want to see you succeed. If you can help them see that you don’t need college to do that, then they’ll be more likely to not “force” you to go. But ultimately I don’t know what your situation is. If college is needed, then get it done. You got this!
@@BarrettBower Yeah, my parents and I have a lot of differences due to how they grew up and where they came from. They grew up with limited options and resources; education at schools/colleges was the only good option. Colleges here (In India at least) now cost more than we can afford and the quality of education and peers don't match that. I'm not completely against colleges, It's just that I cannot catch up to how they teach. I looked for online options for degrees that are affordable and a bit flexible. But it's hard to convince them without yielding any results and showing to them it can be done.
awesome video! can you please share how you are learning the ai/ml field?(What resources are you using) As a begineer i would like to understand more of other begineers journey so i can begin my learning process too.
Thank you! For learning ML math I watched playlists created by a guy named Jon Krohn. They're free on UA-cam, and you can also buy the course on Udemy. (the only difference is he goes step by step through exercises answers on Udemy) Wishing you well on your journey!
@@BarrettBower Thanks man i will definetely check it out and be with you on your journey !!Your videos are very cool love that editing.
Could you share your roadmap/plan for learning ai and how you're doing it?
My plan is to start with the basics, build a ML model, and then learn practical applications of AI. I completed ML foundations by Jon Krohn on UA-cam if that interests you.
Hey man, loved the video. It would mean a lot if you could share the learning resources you're going through :) Keep up the good work.

What software do you use to edit your videos? And do you edit it in 4k or 1080p and do you have a camera? I'm also planning to start A YT channel and I'm teaching myself ML. All the best bro.
That’s exciting! I use FCP and I have a camera that I use to shoot in 4k, but I edit in 1080p. If you’re getting started, my advice would be to use a phone camera and a free editing software like Davinci or CapCut. As you post more, you can start to upgrade. But just start posting. Good luck on your journey!

I also want to start learn Ai but I have am totally non tech guy. I just want to ask about what should be my roadmap to enter into it and what are resource I should follow.
If I was completely new I’d start with cs basics. Harvard CS50 is a good starting point. If you know a decent amount of math/cs, then ML foundations by Jon Krohn on UA-cam is what I would recommend.

Hi Barrett from where can i learn all maths required (online ) in AI field
Hi! For ML math I completed ML foundations by Jon Krohn on UA-cam.
Hey I've graduated in comp sci and honestly I haven't learned much about anything..I guess i just have a birds eye view of whats there in computer science lol. Plus most of the courses are just math . Anyways, i started learning ml and ai from coursera ( because the college coursework was mostly math and basically no programming in ml/ai) . What courses are you doing?
Congrats on graduating! I just finished up ML foundations by Jon Krohn. It's free on UA-cam, but mostly focused on the math behind ML. There were also Jupyter nb code demos, but they were often used to show how the math worked.
@BarrettBower hmm ill check it out. I'm almost done with the deep learning specialization. It's a good course for a more practical approach ( there are a lot of coding assignments and not much math)
You're best yet by far! But I'm curious why'd you change the original title?
Thank you! I changed it bc I thought “dropping out of college because of ai” seemed like clickbait 😂
@@BarrettBower Haha maybe but you kinda delivered on it!

Hey, I was wondering if you could make a video about how you study AI. I'm also diving deep into the AI world and currently learning deep learning. I'd like to know your study methods to see if they might work for me and others. Thanks!
Possibly in a future video. Basically, I try to find structured study material (so I’m not bouncing between resources) and then I put all my focus into learning. I take brief notes while watching/reading and then after some time (30-60mins) I try and go through what I learned and write down the important parts on the big paper.
@@BarrettBower thanks a lot.
Wait what are your classes..free courses or UA-cam ?
