I like the mock-up you made using paper and tape to hold the screws. That’s a great idea!

Thanks for this Alexander Bosko. With all of my fixing chops, I didn't think of using heat!

Did your replacement foot have that tiny little pin on it as well, or just the one in the center? One of my screws fell out after I had work done on my MacBook at Apple Store. I have the screw. What screw driver size do I need to get & should I look for it on Amazon? I lost two feet due to my laptop getting hot from using it a long time. Still have the feet, but need the right kind of adhesive. Thanks for showing the inside of the MacBook. Been wondering what it looks like.

Thanks, great video. Never would have known there was a sticky, clear adhesive disc hiding in the recess under the broken foot on my MacBook Pro. The disc was still there after I removed the broken foot, cleaned the area with alcohol & was ready to pop on the new foot. That darn adhesive disc was virtually invisible to see until I gently scraped it out with a fingernail. I then cleaned the sticky area again with alcohol. Thanks for the tip! With your help I was able to install the new foot on the bare metal case instead of on top of old adhesive. Hope it holds.

Original feet have center "pin" melted from inside of bottom cover plate (underneath inside sticker), which is what holds the broken piece of pin in place. They probably use some type of iron/hot plate to melt the pin. The replacement feet I purchased have center pins which seem too short to try melting. (Could have tried heating a regular screwdriver tip on flame and using it to melt pin, but feet were only about $1.00 including shipping, so if they don't stay attached with just adhesive this time, I'll melt pins when installing next time.) It's also odd that both the bottom cover plate and the feet have a secondary "orientating" hole/pin, since the feet are completely symmetrical (so no need to orient the feet in any particular way when installing).

Very good instructional video, although I found it a bit long. If I may offer some constructive criticism, you don't need to tell us every time you're leaving and, especially, when you're back. We wouldn't even have known you were gone.
But maybe you think some of you're viewers have separation anxiety disorder, so you're being extra nice for them. 🙂
And one more very little thing. As you can see from the comments, many of the comments came from women, so maybe you shouldnt address your audience as "guys." Here in the south, we say y'all, which is all-inclusive.
But, again, I think this is a very helpful video, so thanks for posting it.
