This is my take on a budget fury druid build. Lots of different gear choices so let me know how you guys would change the build. Remember budget. Also I guess I could have casted a valk for a meat shield form harmony as well forgot about that one. Discord join it :) discord.gg/8GXyu7A
Dbrunski125 i like grief and stormshield dungoes for damage and max block max dr with angelic rings amulet or highlords ravenfrost or duel leech ring in other rings bk or crafted rings that's just me i only use fury never use feral rage
I played hardcore on battlenet back in the day and that was my merc setup. I posted it in a comment to your videos before but i don't know if you got it from me. Its awesome and so budget. I can't confirm this but i was told that fade has a secret 1% physical reduction per level. My only confirmation is that i maxed fade and never died. . When i would run ubers i would have my smiter wear treachery and stand in the conveinent fire in Uber Tristram until fade procced and then put his Guardian Angel armor back on. I did lose a smiter to lag. Uber Tristram was very laggy for me. Way too many trash monsters. I made a budget trapsin one season with weapon block (no dex needed) every point into stamina and a rare amulet of teleport i bought for cheap (+2 sins and telport charges but no other useful stats) . Massively strong and didn't cost anything. The teleport charges are massively expensive to repair so you're not a sorc. I ran Nithilak almost exclusively at that point so i needed to teleport once per run for him for some reason. I don't recommend my that trapsin build tho. Its just interesting. Don't build it. Its very demotivating because you can do almost everything the game easily but you don't need anything. You can get rich farming keys with it but i had nothing to spend it on. I couldn't put on enigma and start teleporting around because of the dual claw investment and the lack of cast rate.
I found a tomb reaver only 1 socket bit with a Shael is 80% attack speed mines also 50 all resist so good there my only concern is the fhr but I think if I socket my jalal with 7% fhr and I use duress I’ll be close then I can add a dungos this will get me to 87% is the breakpoint 86? Any advice?
Why do you like fury druid? I'm asking cause I want to make one. Currently I am playing with a frenzy barbarian, and that character is super fast when frenzy is fully "charged". Runs fast and attacks fast, super fun.

Thanks dbrunski. Just completed my first ever diablo2 playthrough of single player hell mode without any mod on a fury druid and this guide helped a lot. The only items I was able to pick up from this budget guide was Treachery for merc and Gore Rider. Somehow, I managed to barely beat the game with much less gear.

Nice guide. I really like that you made budget version. People dont play these types of builds because they are single target builds. Majority of players will prefer aoe builds. I had fury druid many, many years ago on BN and it was awesome.
Great video! I agree with your assessment that very few of us understand how to build a Shapeshift druid. Deliberately losing block is not something most people would think or want to do. Druid is one of my least-played classes, along with Assassin. This gives me a fun new character to build.
Oh man have you been missing out, assassin traps and windy or fire druid melts mobs through hell. And kicker sin once you farm the gear melts Ubers like it's easy.
I really like your format and explanations of your build videos. They are SUPER helpful, and I have used several of them. I am currently enjoying my own Lightning Magic Find Sorceress. The only things that need improvement are your graphics (which happens anyway overtime as channels grow and get more experienced) and your ability to deliver any updates on your past builds. Maybe a compilation of short updates on several character builds in one video from time to time?
DBrunski, I really like this build, I just got my plugy working again, I accidentally delete something and stop working, but now i install it again and is working just great, it i did lost everything I have before, but is ok,I didn’t have that much, from all the guys who post videos on you tube yours are my favorite ones, again thank you for posting.
Peace runeword is supet budget, and with certain setups it outperforms even Fortitude. The Oskill critical strike is massive for a Ribcracker vuild. Without G-face, it is a super solid option, even in a godly setup. It also makes Metalgrid a real contender to Highlords, and can actually result in some awesomely well rounded and smooth build.
Every time in the past I have found a Bonehew (usually exploding a corpse with a necro) I was creating a werewolf druid, except that AFAIR I was no investing many points in feral rage, but more into ghost or bear (do not remember right now). btw, very nice channel, I have found it few days back and watched your other movies that remind me the fun play with Diablo2exp (but for me the fan was always at close battle net). There were also plugins available, but Blizzard did not liked it.
I used to run something like this in hardcore back in my 1.10 days. Lots of fun, although I would consistently die around 85 and have to restart him. Never really bothered me though.
The reason why you don't see a lot of Fury druids is that there is a bug that makes them pretty much useless for PVP. If the first hit misses, the rest always miss too. This is somehow related to the hit recovery animation being triggered when the Druid gets struck after doing the first hit. Because of that, I would prefer doing a hybrid with Rabies and Fury or a Barb with Wolfhowl since he can get to another IAS breakpoint through a Phase blade.
It's refreshing to see a budget build; well done. :) I've had a lot of fun with two Fury Druids, one wielding Windhammer, the other wielding an ethereal "Oath" Feral Axe.
Nice thing about an fury Druid, it makes the best use of an eth botd thunder maul. I slapped one together the other day and it popped 398. 1344 printed max on the weapon. I was so excited. It’s on my key hunter barb currently. But once I get a Druid torch it will be moving around I think. Botd tmaul and a nice high defense stone should get the job done quite nicely
I really like that this is genuinely a budget build. The mercenary's gear is higher ilvl than the druid's, and as fast as you run, he hardly even gets involved lol
I play a fury druid too. One of my all time favorite builds. My current build is a bit different though as i havent found a good rolled ribcracker yet, that i would want to upgrade. Instead i use Oath in an eth feral axe and Gface to get more CB. Also i dumped all my statpoints in strenght instead of vitality for that Titan Wolf style :D
gotta say i love this video...you explained things so much more clearly and it looked more fun and fast compared to your d2r decked out fury druid build...i actually think this one may be superior than that.as you contradicted yourself between the vids using dracs in the later one..but you have so much life and life steal whats the point in using dracs? my only problem is i cant decide if i should get an eth ribcracker AND a tomb reaver..already have the budget items besides them..might make breath of dying as well
Nice I just reinstalled D2 and Plugy so I can get all the fancy runes ladder would have to offer. But I have to start somewhere so I was looking for a fun budget build to start. I never played a druid and while an elemental druid would be fun that would require me to have proper gear. So yeah this shapeshifter is going to be fun! Thx.
It might seem a little odd, but try a Buriza on a fury druid. It attacks super fast and freezes everything. Since you're using it as a melee weapon, the freeze works much better than it does as a ranged weapon. The cold damage on it helps with immunes too.
Never played a druid before, but loot- and gearwise, it looks like a solid HC candidate to participate in the vengeance of 99-s untwinked competition, will try to go through hell with one once i get the time :)
This video inspired me to pick up Diablo 2 again as I've never played the Druid because the builds always seemed weak and disjointed. I have to say, I forgot how PAINFUL it is playing a melee character in Diablo 2 (especially on Battlenet). So much slow, knockback and monsters I can't leech off of. I cleared normal and called it quits I think I'll stick to the Necro and Sorc for my walks down memory lane going forward. :3
Why not try the elemental tree then, all this fire melts through normal real good. Playing it on hc rn and with some felloe wolfs to watch your back it's amazing
I used to love Fury Druid back in the day - but I got personally sick of it because it wasn't especially fast at clearing and you need to watch the oak sage. I switched to Sorc/Pally as my go-to chars with Trapsin as my go-to budget build because of the speed of clearing areas and nothing to babysit. Furthermore, werewolf druid is mind-numbingly slow to solo-level and in groups he's really, REALLY, not fun to progress with. Kinda like PSN necro; super fun at level 30 but a nightmare before that. Basically, Fury Druid was mad cool - but he got annoying for a casual player like myself. Of course since they've given re-specs it's a whole new ballgame, but back in the day? Yeah, shit got old really fast.
Yeah I agree boring back in the day. But when i found out they were pretty capable of ubers i built a new one this ladder. Ran 10 or so ubers. Its a little slower than a gg smitet but its a whole lot more fun and more engaging.
i made one of these a few months back for the first time on bnet, had almost the same gear.... the upped ribcracker is a real beat stick. main problem i found was lack of defense as a wolf really hurt my durability in melee engagements, though i could usually kill fast enough that it didn't matter in a lot of situations. wound up going defiance merc to help with that. archer packs wound up being a real problem due to them being unleechable, and with the low defense they were landing a lot of hits
I had Jalal's, Fleshrender, Rhyme grim shield, venom grips, String of Ears, Inferno Stride, a upp'd Silks of Victor ( wasn't my first choice) and decent rare rings & amulet.. he was passable
You don't need to max Feral Rage. Instead, put those points into Carrion Vine and you'll have passive regeneration from every corpse, with up to 15% of your total HP from each one. Basically, if you have 4000 HP then you'll have 600 HP regenerated from every corpse.
Awesome build! I noticed that the game's graphics looks very clean. Could be youtube? Are you using nGlides's 3dfx wrapper or the original "2D" graphics? Any third party mods to enhance the look of the game? Just curious.
I just started my self found fury druid on bnet yesterday. Found a Lo rune in NM throne room. Never imagined being able to make fortitude before even entering hell lol. I was hoping to get some ideas on what else to use, this build seems a bit to good for a true "budget" build.
I'd use Eye of Etlich amulet. But it's me.🤔 I can't remember ever finding Reaper's Toll, since 2003, when I started playing D2. It's also me. 😁 Perhaps Lawbringer/Rift/Voice of Reason on switch?
I'm so mad the last ladder reset killed the best fury druid I had.. someone gave me a PERFECT eth ribcracker and even gave me a friggen zod rune. As long as i respec from elem
Druids are my favorite class in Diablo! But i am aways torn apart deciding Oak sage or HoW... I know HoW is better for SC but i like to do ubers with my fury and i feel like Oak is better in this case ^^
I reinstalled the game after a decade so I could finish it as a fury druid. during my research every one talked about FHR being so important, but during my gameplay I found that other modifiers like open wounds are way more critical specially if you don't wanna die on bosses and have low resistances in bossgroups. I obviously don't have the same gear as you do,even for a "budget", you're pretty stacked imo
well, if you play on plugy then you can get all those items rather quickly with another MF char and then just lvl up ur druid... i guess everyone does that, i started with a sorc.. built a good amount of items in my stash and then I made a paladin, a javazon and a summon necro and finnished the game with 4 classes now :) still thinking what I'll do next.. got a druid and an assassin up into nightmare and just dropped playing with them for now because I aim for some rune finding atm.
This is awesome and I'm definitely going to be building it. Have you messed around with Dire Wolves instead of Grizzly? I wonder if they are able to survive with max oak sage. It would be really useful for clearing out corpses around Nihilithak.
Joe Shipe I'm going to revisit him with more godly gear. I'm not sure if dire wolves would survive well. They had okay survivability with my wind druid with oak sage and cta buff but they still die occasionally whete the bear like never dies
Summoners were OP in hardcore. In a way. I always started a season with one because i could start farming hell right away. I'd switch to another char once i got some gear but you could gear them up too. Could solo ubers and farm too.
I'm running a budget fury druid very similar to yours in regards to equipment. Difference is my main is fleshrender upped to tyrant club for +3 to shapeshift with jalals for +2/2, etlich for +1 and spirit monarch for +2 to skills. Question is, would you recommend to farm for ribcracker and respec extra str into vita (and respec wolverine into oak) or socket fleshrender with shael and continue with +10 to shapeshift skills that I have now? I'm kinda anxious about how he'll perform at hell, I'm lvl 57 currently act 5 nm. Notice, I have duress and goblin toe for open wounds, crushing and deadly strike combined with fleshrender
Only changes I would make is to budget uber switch gloves to dracs and instead of max feral max rabies so they can't heal..... this is my favorite that killer
i don't think dracs fall under "budget" build... sure, you can probabnly get a pair for an UM rune (as it's the highest rune he used on his char) at some point but not quite fast after a ladder reset... as for single player, those gloves are not that common.. I still haven't found them on my HG list after a few hundred hours of farming
My one and only build. I tell you why i can't play him in the longterm though. Killing Baal in Nightmare is one thing. But I can't get to hell difficulty. You really need the rng drops. And since I play offline i can't trade a jalals to boost my res....
I started a guy like this :D I just threw ribcracker aw though..D: But ive found like 4(!) 5s runemaster which is rly KEWL. :S I just played my guy to like lvl ~50 - so im happy there is a fury d00d at all My attack speed wasnt that good though. I struggled ALOT at baals. Im on 1.14d/plugy. When fury is interrupted, the animation is not - right?

Amazing video man!
Hi D, thanks for the video. Do u think this will be a good league starter when D2R hits?
i made one of these a few months back for the first time on bnet, had almost the same gear.... the upped ribcracker is a real beat stick. main problem i found was lack of defense as a wolf really hurt my durability in melee engagements, though i could usually kill fast enough that it didn't matter in a lot of situations. wound up going defiance merc to help with that.
archer packs wound up being a real problem due to them being unleechable, and with the low defense they were landing a lot of hits
ranged attacks and elemental damage is a problem. Hence the easy pit runs, which i don't really enjoy tbh
Tyvm dbun great vid. Druids get too much hate
I had Jalal's, Fleshrender, Rhyme grim shield, venom grips, String of Ears, Inferno Stride, a upp'd Silks of Victor ( wasn't my first choice) and decent rare rings & amulet.. he was passable
This was my build back then. Your worst enemy is thorns/reflect damage.
Good D2 content, gj mate!
How do you handle immunes?
Bout time aome9nw did a fury druid guide....keep up the good work
I personally love the hybrid Rabies/Fury Druid.
You don't need to max Feral Rage. Instead, put those points into Carrion Vine and you'll have passive regeneration from every corpse, with up to 15% of your total HP from each one.
Basically, if you have 4000 HP then you'll have 600 HP regenerated from every corpse.
I like putting Um in Jalal’s for Resists.
Is leveling the character early with no gear enjoyable or only after you've leveled and geared up
I'd use Eye of Etlich amulet. But it's me.🤔
I can't remember ever finding Reaper's Toll, since 2003, when I started playing D2. It's also me. 😁
Perhaps Lawbringer/Rift/Voice of Reason on switch?
I obviously don't have the same gear as you do,even for a "budget", you're pretty stacked imo
well, if you play on plugy then you can get all those items rather quickly with another MF char and then just lvl up ur druid... i guess everyone does that, i started with a sorc.. built a good amount of items in my stash and then I made a paladin, a javazon and a summon necro and finnished the game with 4 classes now :) still thinking what I'll do next.. got a druid and an assassin up into nightmare and just dropped playing with them for now because I aim for some rune finding atm.
slayerem twinking feels like cheating to me but gl on your gaming endeavors
you're very harsh on yourself, even on battlenet you have the option of mulling :)
@Dbrunski125 Thank you for the content.
What's your take on Heart of Wolverine vs Oak Sage?
Oak sage is better because it raises the chance of surviving vs just a little bit more of damage and AR, you can get the AR with two angelics.
I did have one of these I forgot about it thanks for reminding me
I always liked summon necros. Just lots and lots of skellies. Always pissed off a bunch of people on bnet, haha. Good times.
Summoners were OP in hardcore. In a way. I always started a season with one because i could start farming hell right away. I'd switch to another char once i got some gear but you could gear them up too. Could solo ubers and farm too.
People got mad because their game started lagging so much back when PCs and most guys' internet were shit lol
im that asshole that boneWalls people from pathing into baal etc, goooood tiiiimes
Etheral tomb reaver with 2*ed/ias jewels + zod. Gets you about 16k fury damage with sick IAS and 10k+ life
Super expensive but godly yea
how do you get 10k life? :/
I have all this gear except merc, i cant wait to level this druid
I think this druid can easily and fast kill ubers, if you use draculs. Ribcracker is really strong weapon with very high crushing blow chance.
Good stuff man. Are you looking forward to Torchlight Frontiers?
Fury Druid is a fun build but a real pain in the ass to level without being rushed
Oh, I thought it was FURRY druid 🤣
Well, the druid Is kind of a furry anywayxd
Only changes I would make is to budget uber switch gloves to dracs and instead of max feral max rabies so they can't heal..... this is my favorite that killer
i don't think dracs fall under "budget" build... sure, you can probabnly get a pair for an UM rune (as it's the highest rune he used on his char) at some point but not quite fast after a ladder reset... as for single player, those gloves are not that common.. I still haven't found them on my HG list after a few hundred hours of farming
Wow this build is absolute good!!! need to build like one
i Always run fury build since ever, my fav build.
My one and only build. I tell you why i can't play him in the longterm though. Killing Baal in Nightmare is one thing. But I can't get to hell difficulty. You really need the rng drops. And since I play offline i can't trade a jalals to boost my res....
I started a guy like this :D
I just threw ribcracker aw though..D:
But ive found like 4(!) 5s runemaster which is rly KEWL. :S
I just played my guy to like lvl ~50 - so im happy there is a fury d00d at all
My attack speed wasnt that good though. I struggled ALOT at baals.
Im on 1.14d/plugy. When fury is interrupted, the animation is not - right?
My characters going very well in the current ladder Dbrunski, I have to ask what items would you use late game?
