I'm impressed with the Batallion Chief here, calmly guiding the driver through a tightass gap and keeping ontop of the paperwork and radio at the same time
"GET OFF DA HYDRANT.
LET'S GO.
GET OFF DA HYDRANT."
Oh, how I love our fire department so.
ang
With all the traffic in New York, I'm surprised these guys can get to ANY emergency in time.
look at this boss drivin with one hand working the sirens hahahaha all while drinking coffee
got to love the New York sirens *-*
Those truck drivers have to be some of the greatest in the world.
i love how you cleared that hydrant. had me laughing for a while
I'm a Junior Firefighter in SC, I commend yall guys in NY for what yall do. I couldn't imagine going through what yall do on a daily basis! God Bless you guys! Great Video!
whenever i need a good laugh i just listen to him telling the truck to get off the hydrant:)
Maneuvering these trucks looks like he'll in NYC
Get OFF the hydrant! Let's Go! Move off the hydrant!
Good Work FDNY We Will Always Thank You... Thank You For Saving Peoples Lives Even ARE Lives... I Hope You Guys.... Get a Celebration!!!
our **
First time I've seen a ride along with FDNY, very interesting.
The ones in back are a Whelen Hi-Rise - they flip up to a vertical orientation and provide very tall warning to be seen for a long distance over traffic.
It’s surprising how much technology had advanced in the past 10 years but the looks of the rigs, for the most part, looks the same.
That's because most of the rigs are Seagrave and most Seagrave rigs look the same
wauw the quality.......its uploaded 8 years ago and the quality is perfect!
That why I like living in the suburbans closer to corn. We have a full-time fire department that could travel the same distance in half the time
That is super video, thanks You for sharing! I am a member of theVoluntary Firefighter brigade and even honorary member of our response unit. Why honorary? Unfortunately, I went blind, when I was 15. I have been loving firefighting, firefighters, fire truck since my childhood. BTW, my movie no. 1 is Tower inferno. I closed great friendship with great men from this firebrigade few months ago. My chieff asked to others, they agreed and Vaclav (chieff of response unit) called me and tould: "Heeey, there is NO problem to join our brigade, You are also honorary member of our unit!" I could not believe my own ears! 100 % impossible, 100 % mirracle! I would never have believed that I could be so lucky! I am sure, that was simply will of our Lord, that this situation happened! I am focused to the service called Protection of the population, civil defense, which includes a huge range of activities that I can do with my handicap. I love these videos with firefighting, fire trucks firemen etc. Respect, love and greetings from Prague, stay safe and be healthy!
Great vide, just like always, but am a little surprised that you guys actually numbered that bucket truck #13, guess you guys dont think tha't an unlucky number for you, really love it when you told that cube truck to move away from the Hydrent, I remember when I saw pics one time of a car that was parked in front of one at he fireman couldn't find the owner, so they literly put the hose straight through the drivers side window and out the passenger side window to the hydrent...
Either one can control the siren. I know me personally, if I'm in the passenger seat, I'll work the siren so that the driver can focus on the road.
Honestly if you are able to drive down the streets of NYC you are able to drive anywhere in North America. NYC traffic and the actual size of the streets is just awful.
Some siren controls are also built into the steering wheels or foot pedals on the floor. With Type 3 Medium pumpers in Vic you can press a switch with your foot to change from yelp to wail, and on some supports you press the horn and it changes the siren tone as well as activating the horn.
"come to me come to me come to me" SMASH - Jimmy you didnt come to me enough!
It's not the safest, but in many departments, the siren control heads are built so that they are only accessible to the driver. In most cases, the siren is built in the middle of the cab so that either can work siren. Driver usually works srien in small departments. When I ride officer's seat, I work the siren usually unless a ranking officer is driving and tells me that they want to work siren.
Love the chief saying where ya going??
great video in Australia fire commanders drive them self to jobs but would be great having a chauffeur keep up the good work fdny.
Some fire department deputy chief have an aide driving so they are in communication with dispatch
love the old diesel ford excursions
its geared towards the driver, but the passenger can reach over to control if necessary
Yes. And for this one, its also programmed on the Driving Wheel Horn. Left May be a Siren Choice 1 and Right side may be Siren Choice 2 and Middle is Horn/Air Horn.
The ladder can be newer or older than the engine.
Great video! The FDNY has nice fire trucks!
the ladder truck horns seem louder than the engine hornes
I love ride-alongs, I subbed :D
I got to say they got some damn good drivers that is a whole hell of a lot of apparatus to be movin thru tight areas!!! 5*
Usually the passenger has the siren and horn at his feet.
I love it at the start of the video, where the caption comes out all relaxed with coffee in his hand :p
my guess is to keep faces out of the video who didn't want to plastard over youtube
Awesome video
Two questions.1 st question what type of appuratus was that paralled parked with battalion 10 and next question why at the end of the vid was half of the screen covered?????????
Man! I was only 4 years old that time
FOr some reason I always picture the chief as Danny Devito
worked in college station Texas and Angelina county. couldn't imagine driving in NY.
I really like the part when the fire trucks just come out of nowhere and they meet up with the chief
Good job pretty good video!
yeah real heroes. like that nice cars also^^ nice greetings from austria europe
Who ends up being the driver? Is it a firefighter that was assigned that position for the day?
Because it only make sense that it goes down from sections like... lower manhattan from duane st covering battery park and lower and some parts of chinatown... then battalion 2 covers the other west side... battalion 4 covers the lower east side... and not battalion 10 covering battalion 1's side... and where else are they going to stuff battalion 10.. no other vehicle could park inside 10 house.
Nice Great work
nice vid!!!
I love that i like that fire trucks . nice movie
Baddest fire department in the world I love it ..
Are you thinking of a superhero type.
God bless FDNY!!! True heroes!!!
the ringing u hear is the updated info on the mdt (the computer u see in the batty chiefs rig
driver usually. In rare cases the passenger
(sorry for responding a year late)
If they made the traffic exactly the same on GTA 4 people would give up on playing it because they wouldn't be able to drive..
I remember going to this house
Look at all the cars double parked with their "magic blinkers" on...
Who else is watching in 2019? Apparently 480p was the max res in 2007, lol.
keep hittin 9 :D LMFAO what an awsome chief!!
Their accents ahahaha
I LOVE NY!!!
wow nice video
Motorola MW-520. Old systems, but still very functional (Usually running Win 95 or 98)
holy cray the driver for batt 10 can drive i wouldnt have attempted to get my car past that truck at 2:25
They could park it outside, ive seen vids of that station responding with what looks like a battalion rig outside the station parked next to the curb.
Tinny tiny little "Keep back 200 feet" sign on the back of the ladder truck, I am pretty sure we have to be within 200 feet in order to read that sign.
Nice view inside station. Will fdny let you do a ride along from the tillerman view? New York is notorious for double parking just like every other city.
Whooaaaa....glad all our calls are out of the Cities and in the country....seemed like forever to get there!
how did they meet up
The parking situation is brutal
Very cool vid!!! :)
Wondering what kind of 'display' that is?!? And what means that 'ring ring' hearing all time?! :D
Any further information?!?!
AUhAUhauha! Yes yes yes...
Driver of the van was sleeping at least THREE hours...
AHuaHuaha! :-D
What do you have to do to get to ride along with these guys?
ive heard that the fdny isnt allowing ride alongs anymore but i cannot confirm that i havent spoken to my fdny buddy in a while
I am a firefighter from LA and am coming to NY this summer. I was hoping to get a ride along in while I was there. Where would be my best bet to try and ride out at? Any help would be appreciated.
@phardcare I guess it's a manual button...
Just saying, I have a playlist of all the Bat 10 ride alongs just for that old school FDNY PA300 sirens, why they ever got rid of them is beyond me
Doc Hawk They still have em. Not as used as they used to be by the bigger companies, but the trucks (and cars) are still outfitted with PA300s
Can someone help me out, im a fireman in south Louisiana, our chiefs here run in a Tahoe loaded out like state police and bein such they have the full police package, lower suspenion, 150mph, etc. and when i watch these videos FDNY has excursions and 3 light bars with 2 ontop of each other......whats the reason?
@metalbornmetalbred thx a lot sir :-) god bless y too !
@drunkpolice you might be right but i think your also wrong because you can hear a sound right before the siren goes off, its a click sound its a footpedal
i think driving a tower ladder is a challenge but then who doesnt like challenges..:D
what type of air horns does the FDNY use
how did chief knew it was a 10-80 no code when no guys transmitted anything?
@MrGta4expert its blocking the passangers face i belive?
MOVE OFF THE HYDRANT! My hero right there lol.
Excuse me Sir,
2:35 ---> model Tablet PC is... ?
Thanks in advance. :)
Respect :)
I have a question : who's changing the siren?:D
is the chief from the city? lol. heaviest NYC accent. how did you get the ride along?
Man that would suck with that traffic!
2009...
king of the road. king of the hose.
@hollywoodsix BTW great video. Not sure why there are 9 dislikes.
Good dog yielding to firextrucks
driver is using sirens?
Wie machst du das immer dass du da mitfahren darfst?
Oh, THANKS for Your answer. :)
