That my friend, was magnificent. I was born in 1963, and I felt like I was walking down memory lane with you. The younger generations today have no idea what has already been lost. It's as if I feel like an foreigner in my own land these days. I can remember roaming the creeks catching water snakes by hand to sell to the pet store. We carried an old pillow case to put them in. You'd be arrested for letting a kid do that these days. Thanks my friend for letting me sit at your table for a while and remember.
Thank you buddy, I really appreciate the comments you leave. I hope someday we can run a few traps and shoot some film together. I'd come south in a heartbeat. All the best.
I just found your channel a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it. Wow what memories that video stirred. You see I was born in 62 too, and man, when you said how the movie Jeremiah Johnson left a mark on you, well the memories just flooded in. It must have been the age. So, in the words of Bob Hope "Thanks for the memories."
Looks like your comments are the same as mine right now, only a year latter. I was born '63. I went to see Jeremiah Johnson with my older brother when it came out. It was in a shopping center next door to Elvis' house in Memphis. Yeah, it stirred me too. I love these videos. It's 0500 and I'm watching this drinking my coffee. Lol
JC, when you talk about your dad in this video I couldn't help but think of my grandpa. The stories that he tells always makes my day. Thank you! Ethan
Steven Spielberg takes three hours to stir as many memories and emotions that you did in just 12 minutes. Thank goodness, for your fine father and that teacher who not only valued but encouraged your individuality.
Dedicating this video to your Dad was perfect..i'm sure he is proud of you..when I was a kid in the 50's you could walk into a hardware store and even the old auto parts store and buy a pistol..didn't need no stinking license..I had a H&R bolt action shotgun at 12 years old..I sometimes dwell on the past but I usually keep it to myself..don't want to sound like an old geezer...lol..now get off my lawn..
Well Boss you sure sparked a few old memories for me. I was born in 68 and remember looking through those fish and game mags.I'm no trapper but i trapped squirrels when i was a kid. My dad got some traps for us, and i think we got .60 cents a pelt in N.S. Canada. But i can relate to that excitement as a kid. I remember reading "My Side of The Mountain" from the school library. How times have changed.Something how much the prices have stayed the same. Your a richer man for having lived and done what you set out to do. And i'd like to thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge and memories. Take care.
You sir are on my list of people I'd like to meet personally. I don't see myself ever being in your neck of the woods, but if I were it would be an honor. Thanks again for sharing your life with us.
Awesome video!! Used to sit in the library and read that mag from cover to cover. Couldn't wait for the next issue to come out. Course that was back in 67, a few days before your time....wish I had chosen the path you choose. Congrat's for doing it the right way!
boss, your old pop's is strutting around like a beautiful proud peacock up there in the woodlands of heaven,he couldn't be more proud, that's for SURE,X, MICK FROM UK, GOD BLESS.
When a really young girl I read "Little House in the Big Woods" and that was the life I wanted to live and read all her books over and over. Every time I think you made the best video you make another and it becomes the next best. When you showed that box of all your journals all I could think of was what a treasure trove was in there. Do they hold the words of a new famous series of books or even a box office hit of the modern day Boss of the Swamp. Yes, I wanted to start with the first and start reading :))) JC you outdid yourself on this one!! The Best!!
Ahh you had me smiling the whole time I read that. I had a feeling you would enjoy this one. A lot of adventure in those notebooks I'll tell ya. Life has been a learning curve but reading my own scribblings has really helped me stay pointed in the right direction. When you read that you keep making the same mistake over and over you tend to smarten up ha ha. Thank you Melody, I really enjoyed your response. All the best.
I want to thank you for a great video, you and I are about the same age and you brought back alot of memories, luckily I still have my dad around, and Im gonna give him a hug and tell him how much he has meant to me all these years. So thanks again for an awesome trip down memory lane.
Todd Boone That's great to hear Todd. Hug them while you have them because you'll remember it years from now when there gone and you'll cherish that moment forever. My Dad has been gone for over 35yrs now and I still remember hugging and thanking him. What great moments those are.
As a dad myself, I can promise you that your dad is looking down on you with as much pride as is imaginable. Hell Boss, I am proud as hell of you myself. Thank you for letting us share in your life and thoughts. Michael
Similarly, I too was born in 62! Also born and raised in the city - Chicago. My dad wasn't an outdoorsman, nor anyone I knew. On car trips thru the "countryside", I stared out the window wishing I was out there - camping, hunting, and fishing. When I was old enough to drive, that's just what I began to do. I had to learn on my own by devouring every book and outdoor's publication I could find. Made many mistakes, some near deadly, but always loved each adventure. The most memorable are the ones filled with adversity that had to be overcome. All those memories are what I now consider my most valued of possessions today. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I was 11 years old when you were born, and now I am just getting into trapping for adventures to last me the rest of my days. So you got started back when I should have started.
JC. Thank God, that you had it all figured out as a teen. And stuck to your own dreams. And stayed on that path. And I can promise your Dad is looking down with so much pride and happiness! Thanks JC.
How much time has changed. Younger generation will never understand what it was like they have missed out on a lot. But then again have a we missed out being born this time. I was born in 62 and I always felt like it was just too late. Thank you for sharing your dreams that you are living.
Just another great vid . You are so right when you say You feel sorry for people who have to keep spending money to find beauty . . . . They just need spend a little time out in the woods on any day ! Thanks Again My Friend !
Great video I was born in 67 , I made a small cabin out of slab wood from the local mill it was only 12x12 but I was so proud I would of been 15 years old , your videos bring me back , I caught my first mink what a rush , I also have respect for our wildlife just like you , I have some old magazines also I still go through them once in awhile, love your content keep it up.
Thank you Henry and my first mink was a rush also. I really miss the good old days. Every time I get a whiff of spearmint oil it brings me back to my childhood when I bought my first bottle of Northwoods Muskrat Lure. I never really caught diddly squat with it but I was excited as hell when it came in the mail haha
Great video! Born in 67 myself. I have to say being a young kid in the 70s was great. I spent my time in the woods of Canterbury NH and Belmont. I totally relate to this video thanks for making it!
I spent many an hour scouring the pages of old Fur Fish and Game back in the early 80's. It was all I could do to scrape together enough money to order some traps and lure. It was like waiting for Christmas for that package to come in... Good Times !!! Thanks for the memories
Great trip down memory lane, really like the old pictures & reminiscence of the days gone bye. I heard stories to on how if you caught 1 silver fox you would get enough to get you through the whole year, enough for your food, clothing, gun powder what ever they needed. Were lucky in that there are no marten fur farms, if there was then the price would be about the same as a mink I would guess. Always enjoys watching, another great one Boss ...!!!
Boss we both grew up in same era I was 64 and had the same dreams as u I hunted alot and always had dreams of farm life witch I did and still do ! Beautiful for decatatin a video to ure pap he is watching u every day boss and is proud of u very much I'm sure again thanks another great video !!
Thanks for the trip back, JC. We share many of the same thoughts (as well as initials). Your channel always puts me in a better mood than I started. That's because yours is a standout channel. I'll tell you something else that stands out here - all these fine comments from the good folks who watch you. I can really appreciate the trip back down memory lane while watching your vids, and while reading comments from other guys in their 50's. Yep we share that too.
japhyjim Thank you for your kind words my friend. I start every day with a fresh ground coffee and my Utube correspondence. I'm more than thrilled that so many enjoy my footage and ramblings. I have a lot planned for this year so stay tuned. All the best.
I started out the same way with Fur-Fish & Game in the late 70s. Still have some of those . And often reflect on my childhood and how great I have it. I have made my living or biggest part of it from trapping for the last 22 years. Wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks for the great videos!!
JC, I really like the direction that you are taking your videos. Your being educational in so many ways. Even a trip down memory lane for you, sparks similar memories for everyone that watches. I also like the way you tried to tie the past into a learning lesson for the younger folks who might be watching. At whatever age, never give up on your dreams. Always keep trying. Like someone said, "It's better to burn out than fade away." - Chris
Howdy Chris, Glad you enjoyed the vid. I'm just letting nature take its course here and vids like this are a good way for me to express myself. So glad so many folks are enjoying them.
Loved it!! I've got a bunch of old hunting and fishing from the 50s.. and some old camping mags too.. carry them in our 1958 Airstream and plan on having them up in the cabin.. love it when my 4 boys thumb through them!! Born in 69 and also feel as I should be back 100 years or so. Keep em coming JC!!!
Thanks buddy. I really like the way this one came out. Gotta get to work on the footage with my visit with Joe next. Got some cabin updates to share. All the best.
Wonderful tribute to your Dad. He'd be proud. We never know what affect we have on people when we introduce them to the outdoors. His influence on you is appreciated by the people who watch your videos.
thebossoftheswamp I came from a family with no outdoors or hunting interest. As I grew I was fascinated by firearms and the outdoors. I was a young adult when I started hunting. I learned hunting by doing and reading. Two trips to my Father in-laws camp helped educate me more than most of the reading I did. Again experience is the better teacher. We all make choices on what roads we take. I was torn between the life of Jeremiah Johnson (yup love the film, the guns, the life style, the history) and a career doing something else. I chose something else and I can't complain. But like you I often wonder what if I had taken the outdoor path and lived and died in the Adirondacks doing what I was made for. I'm content with the choices I made and am glad I can still do almost all I could do when young. I have you by 9 years but can still do most everything, just not as long or as fast as before. I'm glad you chose the path you did because you're giving folks a look at another way of living and doing. We've lost so much I'm glad you've kept it alive and have shared it.
I agree with Heith, when I see a new video in my email I'm tempted to pull over during the day find a quiet spot and watch the much anticipated video. But I wait until I'm home, that gives me something to look forward too. It's like getting that new hunting and fishing magazine for the month, you can't wait to open the pages and start dreaming about the days ahead of prepping for the next days hunt, then the actual hunt itself. Thanks for the great video.
I lived in Pontiac Michigan back in the 70's when my dad was going to college I was about 7 or so and I knew that the city was not a place for me, after my dad graduated from college I have always live in the country or small town, when I was a teen we lived in a town called Hulbert in the Upper Peninsula and it had about 175 people in the whole town and it was great, when my friends was into basketball and football I was into fishing, I to this day still hate sports but still love the outdoors and fishing, I could never live in a city and I dont know how people do it, I love my small store in my small town, great video, Thanks for posting it.
I too love those old issues of FFG. Reminds me of Sunday afternoons at my uncle bobs place... I'm only 31 but I can definitely relate on how old memories can come boiling to the surface just from the slightest jog of the memory. Great video JC. Touching dedication to your father.
What a tribute to your father, I know he is very proud of you and all your accomplishments. One wish that every father has is that his children turn out good and respect the out doors and everything that nature and God provides for us. I have 2 boys one born in 1966 and the other 1969, they both have made me very proud. My oldest right now is on an adventure in Colorado with his son (11) and five other Dads and sons. They take this "man trip" every year and have been doing this now for the past 5 or so years. They are teaching their sons how to do many things on this trip into the mountains away from any and all civilization plus all the electronics that cloud their minds. Memories like yours being made with every trip. Both my boys and I would take to the woods on weekends along with other boys as I was a Scoutmaster and they were all Scouts. Great learning took place and now it does my heart good to see my sons enjoying the outdoors with my grandsons. Thank you for this walk down memory lane as it refreshed my memory again.
Bob Wieters Sounds to me like you have done well raising your boys Bob. This "Man trip" sounds like a great time for sure and some good learning opportunities for the boys. Well done my friend.
Man I can relate to that .I started trapping in 79 .brought back the same memories. I thank my dad for raising me the same way in the outdoors awesome job boss keep them coming
You love what you do, I love what I do and I love what you do, not just for me but for all of us...I'm probably not only speaking for myself but when I see a video in my inbox from you it really brightens my morning...I wish I would have kept all my FFGs from when I was a kid or my Trapper and Predator mags...If you ever think of passing on those journals for anyone to read I would love to check them out...Just a thought...I'm glad you went after your dreams buddy and made them come true...Great vid...Take care Gonzo...
Just Magical from a younger fella at 24 I thank u for this video! hard to imagine what things used to be like if only we had the money they got for there furs in the 60's and even before that. Great video Boss hope all goes well for you at the Sale.
OMG!! JC you are killing me today. Jeremiah Johnson, I watched that at a young age and loved it. Fur, Fish and game. My old man got every issue, and I marveled as you did with a star struck eye of adventure. I have that very .22 Mag you show in the book. My Grandfather gave everyone of his Grandchildren a gun when they turned 14. I got the .22 Mag. The 72 blazer! your killing me! My Dads best friend bought that same exact blazer brand new. We went hunting in that so many times. My Grandfather would load up his beagles and we would go rabbit hunting. My Father 4 years ago bought that blazer off his buddy. HAHA its rusted and rough, but has a re built 350 that purrs like a kitten. THANK YOU Sir!! you just sent me down memory lane like you cant believe. You made my day, my week. I'm from NY, bow season starts in a few days and its awesome to go into a fresh season with all these memories. I wish you the best. GOD BLESS
Found your channel recently, and feel a better man for it. I have started making changes in my life the past few years to focus on the important things. What you said at the end of this struck a nerve in me, As a man I think one of the most important journeys is that of becoming a person your father would be proud to call a friend. Thank you for what you do.
One of my favorite video's. I have said many many times that I was born in the wrong generations as well. I envy your lifestyle and the path you have chosen. I enjoy your video's very much. I have watched them all. Some of them several times. I enjoy them very much. Keep them coming!
Well, finally got around to your old videos, and this one might be my favorite. Beavers prices still haven't got much better ! thanks for the ride down memory lane ..
Really loving this video, especially how you estimate how many beavers you need to buy a gun, a trailer or a BOAT back in the 50s! Man oh man times have changed! Beautiful story and pictures, thank you for sharing!
What a great video and a great way to live, no crime, no polution, noise and no big citys. I have been up to NH on vacation several years ago and love it there in the summer.. I will be looking at more of your videos when I get more time, I will subscribe to your channel for sure.. Bill
Just a great vid man. That pic of your Dad at the end of the vid almost made me cry, you cant even buy a 3 wheeler any more. Times sure have changed and you summed it all up, if you want something go get it and don't wait for the hand outs. I sure wish there were more people like us out there. Great vid and keep them coming. Always the highlight of my day.
Hey thank you for sharing your thoughts. That part at the end always chokes me up but I figured it's because it's MY dad there. I was hoping others could relate and the vid would hit home with people and make them think a little. It appears that it's doing what I hoped it would do with all the great responses I'm getting. All the best to you man.
Beautiful scenes captured at the beginning and end...wonderful stories...a very special video JC! You show how important giving good roots to children is. My uncle sent me a batch of Fur-Fish-Game magazines from Cape Breton in 1980's so I could have real wildlife photos to sketch from (still have them too). They were my favorite as well as the Fur & Feather magazines I had as a young child. Thank you for bringing back memories and roots :)
Ahh Lassie, so good to hear from you. I really enjoyed making this video with all the personal stuff involved. The ending chokes me up a bit. I firmly believe my success in life all stems from my dad not spoiling me as a child. So glad I got to thank him for that.
You mentioned the smells of things bringing back the memories. I love the smell of a box of new traps - the smell of the grease and steel. I remember when I was a kid and the UPS truck pulled up. The guy got out and handed me a box. My first brand new traps.
Thanks for sharing the memory. Those Blake & Lambs I pointed out in the 1975 magazine were the first traps I ever bought. I had them all lined up on the shelf in my bedroom and dreamed about all the fur I was going to catch.
JC, What a nice, nice video! I often take trips down memory lane and they are truly the best days of my life! Jeremiah Johnson is my favorite too! I think I can recite the whole film! The wonderment of it all! I'll never forget roaming the woods checking traps as a boy pretending I was an Alaskan trapper.
Man that was a great production. I look through our collection of FFG that date back to the 60's and it just makes me laugh how much everything's changed
Great video I forgot to mention that beautiful tryke in your video , my dad helped me buy my first one , I worked at the mill and made payments on it , it was the best thing for hunting and trapping it was a dream come true love your videos .
Thank you for all the great videos my friend! Often times I watch your video on my lunch break from my office on the 29 floor of an Atlanta skyscraper and it brings me back to my youth of hunting and fishing in Vermont. Thank you for the walk down memory lane and inspiration to get back in the woods!
Another great video. I learn something in each one of your videos. Thank you for taking the time to pass on knowledge and for taking the time to bring viewers back to the things that actually mean something in life.
This was purely amazing. As a 21 year old that's trapped in the city with the dream of getting out into the country this film couldn't have been any more up my alley. I have followed your channel for a long time now, but I have to dub this one my favorite. My turn will be soon to come, but for now I figure if I was born into the city I may as well make my money in the city than head off into my own slice of land. The biggest factor to me is something you brought up in this video. For someone as myself starting out with no financial means, and no marketable skills out of graduating high school it hasnt been the easiest for me to accumulate money, so far, and the prices for homesteading equipment, land, house, and raw materials are insane in comparison to what an untrained worker could make. I'm getting my degree right now because it's free for me through financial aid, and scholarships, but they contract me into not being able to work while attending full time college. HOW DO I PAY MY BILLS THOUGH? was my question.. As renting an apartment in the "ghetto" would be 1/3rd the price that I would have to pay out of pocket for a dorm room that I would share with another person, I went with that option. I figured out that I would have to get a job under the table, and I got one at a small organic farm. This job option killed two birds with one stone for me. I needed a job under the table with enough hours to pay my bills, but my dream also includes growing and providing myself & my future family with our of food, so this was perfect because I'm learning from what I would consider a master organic farmer how to provide 100+ families with fresh produce 9 months out of the year. I work there, but I also do every odd job that comes my way and that sure helps too. I dont work at the farm during our 3 hard winter months, but im starting back up this week. I went without heat this winter, because of scarcity of money, but im not allowed any sort of a wood stove in my apartment, but I have access to free seasoned fire wood. -kill me now-. There is possibility for me to get into a free job training program that goes over the construction trade while I would be obtaining the basic certifications. They go over the different options you can go into after the program too. I have to do more research on it, but it sounds like a possibility for me to do. I want to learn a marketable skill that could carry me throughout my years, but also be something I could fall back on if I went into something else, and the new en-devour didn't work out. I figured construction, because some day I wish to build my own house, and cabin on my own land, so I could kill a flock of birds with one stone. Wow this message got really long really quick, so since I noticed, I guess I will stop here. Thank you as always for the motivation, inspiration, and perspective that your videos give me. They really do keep the fire under my ass fully stoked, and honestly there are a lot of times that I really do need just that. Lol -- Adam
Wonderful! Absolutely Wonderful!! You have the great ability to pull reality a little closer to home for all of us. At least I should say for me. Excellent content amplified with REAL photos of your life. Cemented together with concrete hard work philosophies. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing. Les from oregon
Wow just amazing!! every time I watch one of your videos I am remind of why I love being outdoors. the serenity and greatness that is in nature is always breath taking and humbling, thank you for making such a great vid please keep them coming!!
Love your video's but this one especially hit home. I was born in 1958 and I have said many times I was a miniver cheevy also, "born to late in time". Love the lifestyle. We no doubt are of a kindred spirit. Jeremiah Johnson my all time favorite. Your trip down memory lane was like you were reviewing my life. I remember the vice principle of my junior high school received at his retirement ceremony in the gymnasium a dozen muskrat traps, today that would've probably got the school in a lawsuit...sadly times have changed. Thanks for sharing this...God Bless !!!
+circlet58 It's really sad how our country has gone in the wrong direction. I had a teacher once give me a couple boxes of 20 gauge shotgun slugs. Can you see a teacher giving his student ammo these days? Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.
Greed has taken over in our world people are missing out on the simple things that can bring so much joy I can think on a time when everyone went to town once a week we went in horse and wagon my folks would take milk butter buttermilk and cream to all most everyone in town then we would go to our parking spot and visit for hours with all the country folks brought our own lunch ate right there at the wagon good old days gone but I still remember
Your dad‘s gift to you turned out to be a gift to all of us. Thank you so much Jean, and thank you JC.

Times have changed. "Chasing the wind" as a former colleague would say. Cheers to some good times experienced growing up in NH :)!
Cheers back at ya :-))
Looking at this video today will open your eyes on lot of things that we are experiencing today.

Oh, wow! I can identify with "being born a century too late"!! I have felt like that my entire life!! ~Kitty
I was born way too late. Only good thing about today is internet porn haha 😆
You sir are on my list of people I'd like to meet personally. I don't see myself ever being in your neck of the woods, but if I were it would be an honor. Thanks again for sharing your life with us.
Thanks for the kind words Chuck. I'll be travelling around so ya never know when our paths may cross. All the best to you.

You never let life pass you by and that's what counts, how things used to be, at least you can look back and remember what was! Excellent Boss!
Thanks Robert. Twenty years from now, THESE will be the good ol days. Live it up so you have something memorable to look back on.

Thanks JC.
Thanks for the great comment. I thought I had it all figured out but life's been one heck of a learning curve. New lessons everyday. All the best.
Enjoyed hearing your memories and the smile as you talked about it! Yep, if we could only go back for a while. Great memories.
Good memories for sure. I'm now doing what I always dreamed about. Life is good :-)
So many truly spoken words!!! Absolutely awesome.
Thanks buddy. If only we could go back in time eh?
Stay safe my friend.
Always inspiring! Love your videos!
Happy to hear that. Thanks for saying so.
How much time has changed. Younger generation will never understand what it was like they have missed out on a lot. But then again have a we missed out being born this time. I was born in 62 and I always felt like it was just too late. Thank you for sharing your dreams that you are living.
Just another great vid . You are so right when you say You feel sorry for
people who have to keep spending money to find beauty . . . . They just
need spend a little time out in the woods on any day !
Yes, the 70's were good times for sure and that area in NH is really nice. I have family there.
Thanks for the grounding my friend! Oldie but goodie!
I spent many an hour scouring the pages of old Fur Fish and Game back in the early 80's. It was all I could do to scrape together enough money to order some traps and lure. It was like waiting for Christmas for that package to come in... Good Times !!! Thanks for the memories
Glad you enjoyed the vid. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Excellent! Better than cable TV. Thanks.
bob Last Thanks Bob. Glad you enjoy.
Your videos are so captivating I truly enjoy them and I miss my father dearly also
Memories and experiences all gather together. Nice video.
Great video JC! You are absolutely spot-on! ah the good ol days!!
Thank you my friend. All the best.
You really hit home with that one boss. Keep doin what your doin. Loving every single one of your videos.
Wow ! just a moving and touching vid, takes Me back to the days, the Good Ole days. Gr8 job !!!
Thanks Clark. I was hoping that it would hit home with some. Thanks for commenting.
Wow, those trips back in time sure stir the memories.Well done Boss !
That's what I was hoping for. Thanks for commenting.
Always enjoys watching, another great one Boss ...!!!
hope you're feeling better.....love your video's Boss.......I'm 53 and disabled and trap in my mind thru you.....God Bless you and Frankie!! thank you
Happy to hear you find enjoyment in my vids. Thank you for taking the time to say so.
Boss we both grew up in same era I was 64 and had the same dreams as u I hunted alot and always had dreams of farm life witch I did and still do ! Beautiful for decatatin a video to ure pap he is watching u every day boss and is proud of u very much I'm sure again thanks another great video !!
This is one of my favorite videos. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
I have to say this is one of my fav vids, big time. Angel from The Bay
If more kids started out with FF&G instead of social media, the world would be a better place :-)
Great Video Boss!...Thanks for taking us along on your trip down memory lane.."Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era myself!"
If only we could go back eh?
Vintage magazines in a vintage Airstream. Sounds awesome! I love that stuff.
All the best my friend.
Great video JC by far one of the if not the most enjoyable videos you have posted. Amazing to see the reflections into the past. Thanks!!!
Thanks buddy. I really like the way this one came out. Gotta get to work on the footage with my visit with Joe next. Got some cabin updates to share.
All the best.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together, Enjoyed it thoroughly and can relate in many ways even at the age of 31.
Thank you for saying so.
Wonderful tribute to your Dad. He'd be proud.
We never know what affect we have on people when we introduce them to the outdoors. His influence on you is appreciated by the people who watch your videos.
Mark Augustus I often wonder how I would have turned out if I didn't possess the interest that I have.
thebossoftheswamp I came from a family with no outdoors or hunting interest.
We've lost so much I'm glad you've kept it alive and have shared it.
great video boss it is nice to hear a person speak from the heart and be happy with what they have and do and be as humble as you are.
Thank you Brian. It brings me great happiness to hear so many enjoy my flicks. I hope I never disappoint. All the best.
Sounds like an interesting life there Tyler. I drove through the U.P. back in 89. Nice country up there man. Thanks for commenting.
AMEN BROTHER GOD BLESS
Just like everyone else already said, fantastic video! I truly enjoyed it.
I too love those old issues of FFG. Reminds me of Sunday afternoons at my uncle bobs place... I'm only 31 but I can definitely relate on how old memories can come boiling to the surface just from the slightest jog of the memory. Great video JC. Touching dedication to your father.
Thanks George. Yep, those old mags sure do bring me back. Sure wish I could GO back though.
Well there is my comment from 6 years ago! This video helped me through a bitter Alberta winter I was not enjoying.
what a great tribute and dedication!
Very beautiful ! 😢
Thank you :-)
What a tribute to your father, I know he is very proud of you and all your accomplishments.
I was hoping a lot of folks could relate to the content here. Sounds like you have. Thanks for commenting.
Great stuff
TY for the incite and your memories, was great to hear about it all. Made me think of my childhood and what we did.
Thanks buddy. I always enjoy your comments. One of these days man, we'll be filming together. Gotta get my Alaska trip overwith first.
All the best.
Just Magical from a younger fella at 24 I thank u for this video! hard to imagine what things used to be like if only we had the money they got for there furs in the 60's and even before that. Great video Boss hope all goes well for you at the Sale.
Thanks Brandon. Definitely the good ol days. Thanks for the comment.
Great video JC. Yes both you and I were born in the wrong era. Thanks for sharing.
GOD BLESS
That's awesome my friend. I smiled the whole time I read your comment. Sounds like some great memories there. Good luck hunting :-)
I feel ya boss, I was born a century late myself. God bless.
If only we could go back eh? I need a woman like Mrs Ingalls ha ha.
I'd be the boss of the prarie lmao.
Found your channel recently, and feel a better man for it. I have started making changes in my life the past few years to focus on the important things. What you said at the end of this struck a nerve in me, As a man I think one of the most important journeys is that of becoming a person your father would be proud to call a friend. Thank you for what you do.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Welcome to my channel :-)
One of my favorite video's. I have said many many times that I was born in the wrong generations as well. I envy your lifestyle and the path you have chosen. I enjoy your video's very much. I have watched them all. Some of them several times. I enjoy them very much. Keep them coming!
+Saw Junky Thank you for all your views and comments. This is one of my favorite productions as well.
Truth About Fur This is one of my favorites as well. Times sure have changed alright. Thanks for commenting.
What a great video and a great way to live, no crime, no polution, noise and no big citys.
I have been up to NH on vacation several years ago and love it there in the summer..
I will be looking at more of your videos when I get more time, I will subscribe to your channel for sure..
Bill
That was great ..... I am sure your dad is and always was proud of you
Thanks Kevin. I appreciate that.
You are a good man and true adventurer. Best regards from Germany
Thank you my friend. All the best to you.
Glad you enjoyed it Darrell and thanks for sharing the memory.
Same movie, same traplines, same age, same magazine. Still got mine too.Always lived a frugal minimalist lifestyle but happy. Good life.
It makes for a good life indeed :-)
Boss, you just keep making them better and better....
Happy you feel that way Mike. Thank you for saying so.
Man that was a great production. I look through our collection of FFG that date back to the 60's and it just makes me laugh how much everything's changed
Thanks man, I appreciate the comment.
Great video I forgot to mention that beautiful tryke in your video , my dad helped me buy my first one , I worked at the mill and made payments on it , it was the best thing for hunting and trapping it was a dream come true love your videos .
you are a true poet.
Another fantastic video, thanks for sharing that special life moment with us.
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for the great videos this is classic right here now and i was born in 58 and my how things have changed take care and god bless
+larry hayes They certainly have changed but not for the good.
Great video boss, its amazing how little trapping has changed over the years. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Take care and be safe.
Fur prices got really low for a while but have been good these last few years, just nt as good as it was in the 60's though.
Happy you enjoy them enough to watch them during your lunch break. I enjoy hearing that. Thanks for commenting.
Very well done, thank you again. Keep it up and l will keep watching. Your Backwoods fan
Thanks Lloyd. All the best to you.
Another great video. I learn something in each one of your videos. Thank you for taking the time to pass on knowledge and for taking the time to bring viewers back to the things that actually mean something in life.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Lol -- Adam
Very happy that you enjoy my videos Adam and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Great video Boss! Wow I ALWAYS wanted to live back when you and MY father were kids.
Wish I could go back in time.
UA-cam needs a ❤️ button!!! Amazing video, thanks for sharing.
Another good video! Keep pumpin them out cause we all enjoy them
I wish I could pump them out but the editing is a daunting task sometimes.
Great video my friend!!!
What can I say... memory lane is a place we all should visit often, it is worth the trip...!!!
If only we could go back eh? Thanks for commenting.
Trying to do the same with my two sons as your father did with you. A great life is measured in happiness. Thanks for the video's!!
Yes indeed. Happiness and accomplishments. Keep those young'uns on the right track.
Thanks for the video, it brings back old memorys and things I wont to do, you take care in the wood, and keep living the dream, your freind chris.
Will do Chris. Thanks for commenting.
Wonderful! Absolutely Wonderful!! You have the great ability to pull reality a little closer to home for all of us. At least I should say for me. Excellent content amplified with REAL photos of your life. Cemented together with concrete hard work philosophies. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing.
Les from oregon
Thanks again Les. From your responses I can tell you genuinely enjoy my uploads. I always appreciate the comments. Thanks again.
Wow just amazing!! every time I watch one of your videos I am remind of why I love being outdoors. the serenity and greatness that is in nature is always breath taking and humbling, thank you for making such a great vid please keep them coming!!
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate the comments as they are every encouraging.
