Thank you for this video. Them pies look really good and the way you talk is even better. There are people who can talk about any subject and make it sound interesting.
Since 2011, the Cornish Pasty has enjoyed protected status under Protected Food Names. To be officially considered a Cornish pasty, there must be 12.5 percent meat and 25 percent vegetables, with the rest being shortcrust or puff pastry. Another unbreakable rule is that all pasties dubbed 'Cornish' have to be baked in Cornwall. I would say that a Yorkshire Pastie is just a way around the rules. Either way it all looked like good scran.
No added gravy in a traditional one, just protein, veg, salt and pepper. I actually find them rather boring, especially if the ingredients are not the highest quality. In other parts of the UK good cooks have taken the concept and elevated it.
@@andythomas8342 don’t need to make gravy it’s juices from beef and veg. Ansum. Yes the local butchers and dairy make fantastic pasty’s, but anywhere that’s a chain store bakery are usually rubbish.
Its my favourite place .used to go when my friend had a campervan - we would buy pies etc then park up somewhere - make tea & coffee - eat the goodies & watch the world go by . I live in Eaglescliffe

Do not think it can be called a Cornish pasty because of the carrot.
Ohhh haha
If its not made in Cornwall you can't call them "cornish pasties?"it can be exactly the same inside just different name?
Apparently 🤣🤣
