And to think he tried to take on federal politics with his Joh for PM campaign which helped destroy the LNP coalition at the 1987 elections, how could Queensland be so stupid for so long?

Oh yes, power generation for the people, but cash in his pocket, profit for him. And he had the worst police force in the world. Corrupt in the extreme, and involved in all sorts of crimes, including murder. Jobs for the boys. And Terry Lewis as Police Commissioner? what a joke, well he was part of "the joke". ( the police on the take). The shonks that Joh wanted. Silly old fart. The honest cops of the day hardly had a chance.

@@maxsonthonax1020 Yes I studied and more well read than you. Yes there was gerry mandering under Sir Joh which favoured rural electorates. This was introduced by a former Labor Government in 1950 by the Hanlon. In fact most state governments and even federal governments have had gerry mandering often to give more weight to rural electorates which neglected by the inner city elites

QLD abolished death duty’s under sir Joh, and had the cheapest electricity in the world, also QLD had free hospital and medical thanks to Sir Joh, that was “before” Medibank/Medicare was introduced.
Real estate was affordable, registration and fuel was the cheapest in Australia.
When a QLDer could pay the rates, water, electricity, and car rego from one fortnight’s pay, and still have enough left for a week’s groceries and a tank of fuel.

So you dont believe Terry Lewis and the three members of parliament were guilty of corruption?
