Absolutely, everyone should be taught that trial by media and federal intervention from Canberra can achieve the desired result. Hahaha, a drunk cop posting money to lewis, lol , Moving forward, people being murdered in their home by thieves, people being killed by kids in stolen cars, Brisbane will run out of water in the next drought, gee it’s good now, takes a year of saving to pay the big three, rates, rego and electricity, thousands of constituents living on the streets in tents.
@@michaelellis8726 Look at the 1983 and 1986 election results, Nationals got significantly less than Labor and Liberals yet achieved a majority in the Parliament - even if Labor and Liberal had formed a coalition (the Lib/Nat coalition had collapsed under Joh years earlier) they still would have not had enough seats to form a government despite having hundreds of thousands of more votes. The only way this can happen is if electoral districts were drawn up in such a way so as to minimise the amount that would be in the populous cities and suburbs and maximise the amount in the sparsely populated regional areas.
The Labor Premier Ned Hanlon drew up the districts in 1949, when Labor was particularly popular in country areas of Queensland. However, as their popularity waned in those areas, Joh and the Country party took advantage of it. It was never fair, but that’s how it came about, ironically for the Labor opposition to Joh for his reign.
It was an entertaining time to someone up from Melbourne. I used to love going into The Valley to an illegal gambling den up a dark flight of stairs. All that is gone now from Brisbane and it is now a boring city. Strange - I lived there for 24 years.
There is quite a lot that southern states such as Victoria and New South Wales can take on from the Fitzgerald Inquiry. Both states' police forces have been needing a comprehensive anti-corruption and misconduct review; not to forget amendments to said powers due to either institutional largesse in giving excessive, broad powers to police, or, lack of fully transparent oversight , with all officers being accountable to their actions, and not relying on qualified immunity.
2022 we demand for a Royal Commission into Corouption in the Judicial system.
Very interesting it should be in the curriculum of every school.

Queensland was severely gerrymandered, so the public couldn't do anything about it
Evidence?

@@dane9937 Labor drew districts to give itself a disadvantage? And Labor was responsible for Joh using them for 18 years?
