@@uFixTek Well, I have a HP 15-bs212wm which I am upgrading and that is how I come around to this video. So upgrading the HDD to SSD and repairing the screen frame is what I am looking for. I came across a video that said these laptops have "hinge problems", but most of the time it's the screws at the hinges are way to tight. So a video on repairing the frame and replacing the keyboard would be greatly truly helpful. Thank you
Check these videos; they can help you with your hinge repair. You will need to loosen the bolts a bit before repairing. The issue is that people open and close the screen quickly, which causes the bolts to tighten over time. 🫠Regarding your question, if you have an HDD and add an M.2, it will work, but I highly recommend installing Windows on your M.2 and using the HDD as extra storage.

@@uFixTek Hi man, thanks for your answer, my laptop is core i5-8250u, HP BS-series, now about my question, it is impossible to "pull" in NVME, because this laptop has "key" for M2 SATA only, how I found it, very easy, NVME interface has one "key" only, which is from right side, so M2 Sata has from both side, but more important that "interface" which soldered on motherboard, HP BS-series has "key" from left side only, thats mean it supports M2 Sata interface only, even if you have M2 NVME you can't install it on that interface port.

I have an HP 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop 15-bs144wm with Intel Pentium Gold 4417U, 500GB HDD, I would like to upgrade to an SSD 1TB now you mentioned the Samsung SSD is the better brand but linked a Crucial is there a big difference in the performance. I already have the ram maxed in general it works great for what I use it for which is why I prefer to upgrade the components than go out and buy a whole new laptop. Hi.. I got everything installed and put back together. Upon pressing the power button the laptop will not start up. I checked and re-seated everything and still cannot get it to start. Any ideas?
Update: It will not post with the m.2 installed in it. I bought the WD Blue 1TB SN570 M.2 2280. I don't have another smaller one to test if the 1TB size is causing the issue.
Update 2: Just tried a Samsung SSD 980 NVMe M.2 2280 and still the same problem. Is there any way you can tell me the BIOS version you are using? I updated to F.71 Rev.A.

You can place a 1tb m.2 sata without any issue. if you purchased them on amazon just return them,.

What you linked is a 500GB M.2 NVME, which is not compatible. It needs to be a M.2 SSD. What you feature in your video is a M.2 SSD also, not the NVME which you linked from Amazon!

yes my friend its for extra storage or better combo should be as following: place m.2 sata and have OS in there, and have a 1tb or 2tb HDD for extra storage and the HDD's are much safer and secure for important file keeping. ssd's have TWB and HDD don't have TWB ( extremely high), for the same reasons servers are always HDD. so the best combo is OS on m.2 and hdd for files. also if you have a 6th gen i3 or i5 then its an NVME m.2 support and with that you could see a better performance . we do get in the store same models with 7th gen cpu and we do install nvme and big difference.
no you ok my friend m.2 is the interface and sata and NVME are the controllers. the m.2 NVME has one cut on it and it is fast m.2 SATA has two cut and it is same speed and 2.5' sata interface

yikes got myself a nvme drive instead of the sata one, knew it was a risk, should have done my research before buying lol

regarding your question: because the motherboard and the cpu are not connected via pci-e lane to that m.2 slot. if you have gen 6+ cpu then yours is nvme compatible

no point adding the m.2 sata unless for extra storage, no performace dif on m.2 sata ssd
yes my friend its for extra storage or better combo should be as following: place m.2 sata and have OS in there, and have a 1tb or 2tb HDD for extra storage and the HDD's are much safer and secure for important file keeping. ssd's have TWB and HDD don't have TWB ( extremely high), for the same reasons servers are always HDD. so the best combo is OS on m.2 and hdd for files.
also if you have a 6th gen i3 or i5 then its an NVME m.2 support and with that you could see a better performance . we do get in the store same models with 7th gen cpu and we do install nvme and big difference.

no you ok my friend m.2 is the interface and sata and NVME are the controllers.
the m.2 NVME has one cut on it and it is fast
m.2 SATA has two cut and it is same speed and 2.5' sata interface

unfortunately HP is making the worst laptops this days , over 17 years of repair we get 90% of the repairs are only HP laptops.
