- About how protein from meat is important to human body. Also about the entire meat process - from livestock ranchers to transportation to stockyards to meatpacking to your grocery store. Missing the slaughterhouse. then we see a butcher explaining about how to get four meals out of one shank of ham. "Full and complete" story of meat from the ranches and farms of America to the dinner table. Stresses importance of protein to human growth. Travels across the land to show a cycle of mealtimes from East to West. Raphael G. Wolff: "We felt that This Is Life was essentially the story of you - and how powerful substances came out of the earth to enter your own blood stream - to become your own ideas, actions and activities...It incorporates the relation of blizzards in Colorado to the steak you may order in a restaurant; the relation of nails driven in the roof of a hog shelter to the ham slice whose sizzling song heralds another day in your life."

I like this type of film. From a time that was family oriented and great entertainment. A time when people dressed up to go to the market, men wore ties, hats and suits, women wore dresses and hats. Hair was styled and neat. Kids respected their elders. The sad part of getting older is watching the digression over the years.
Don't forget lynchings , wars , neo colonialism, assassinations etc
@@blaquenguni9249There’s always some dork who thinks they know everything.
@ArmpitStudios well bla isnt wrong tho. I mean they didn't included the cold war that was brewing when the video was made. And this film wasn't made for family entertainment, it's clearly meant to b educational.
@@atm1919 Yes, educational about FOOD, not a million other subjects. They also didn't mention haircuts, elections, pottery throwing, etc, so why bring up other subjects that isn't germane to the point of the film? Doing so would be ridiculous.
@@ArmpitStudios😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
A time and people that doesn’t exist anymore.
This really brings good memories back. Adds like these.
Back when everyone loved each other. Societal harmony!
unless you were black or native american. Then your life was segregation and poverty.
What are you talking about? People still hated other groups of people back then. Racism was rampant.
we didnt love every1...we hated non whites.we knew they would mud up america.we tried to stay white based christians...muslims and jews hate us!!
During the 1930's my dads cousin, was hired to ride to St. Louis Missouri on the railroad to tend to hogs being shipped by Chapman Dewey Lumber Company from North East Arkansas. Until after 1970 when it finally fell silent an area within about a 120 mile radius of West Plains Missouri was the Feeder pig production capital of the United States
FOR THOSE of you that dont know what a feeder pig is it's a young pig 60 to 70 lbs in weight that is sold to another farm or feed lot to be fed till Market weight of 220 to 240 lbs..
I raised thousands of hogs..I used to buy feeder pigs every Saturday. Raised about 400 head per year.
The Circle of life, designed by our Wise Creator!!!!
Thank you - much to appreciate!
I always wanted to live in town, I thought the town kids had it made. Once you get older you realize how blessed you were to be able to grow up on a farm. As I look back, I was the richest kid in the world growing up on my childhood farm. The kids today are falling away from Jesus and they will never know what real riches are.
Yea. Same here. As a 45 yo looking back. My friends horseplayed after school and i had to power wash farrowing crates. I detested the farm then
The hardest part is not seeing many, if any youth staying close to nature.
If a person dont have a some acres away from the cities then what do they really have?
" What's more boring than watching grass grow ? Watching grass not grow ." 'Michael J Nelson, RiffTrax' .
I found this video very informative and interesting to learn how the meat processors work on long conveyors trimming and cutting the meat for retail market. I grew up on a small farm so I knew most of this story but most Americans have no idea of all the steps involved in bringing food to the market. Our population has doubled since the 1950s a lot more mouths to feed they produce food very efficiently to achieve this.
"By-products are the answer!" 20:50
And in 2021 my old lady says “I’ll pick up some tacos on the way home” 🙄
have her grab me 2 chicken 2 beef...crunchy please.ty bro😅
It was an amazing time.
Narrated by Michael Rye.
hard to believe that that these were in school films that children watched in school.... instead in the ''amazing 21st century'' kids are taught how to hate their country, that men can have babies, critical race theory that teaches that you are a victim. my how times have changed.
This is killing the vegans out there!
Haha 1950.... Science and nutrient has moved on since then my friend.
@@willtheartist ,

No fast food in those days
So true! Everytime I try to get to the meat counter now there's a bunch of fat-ass men blocking rhe way.
Old 👍

Morlocks raise eloi for meat.

И никакого фастфуда!!!! И все мужчины - физически развитые правильно, женьщины худые с красивыми фигурами! А сейчас что!?🤷
Тогда американское общество было христианским и консервативным.
Dieses Pfeifen im Hintergrund.
This should prove to vegans they need to stop being preachy and nagging and take a marketing class.
This is not from 1950...think....cars planes, automobiles...lol....
Cars planes automobiles?? Lol. Engines have existed since the 1800s. How old do you think this video is?
🤣
Around 3:55 mark lmao !!
I bet he loved going to the bathroom with no veggs or fiber...
Before long a film like this will be considered racist. Too many white people in it living a wholesome Christian life.
How can normal everyday life be racist?
@@ArmpitStudios I dunno, ask a democrat that’s what they call everything and everyone they disagree with.
Very refreshing to see American industry being uplifted instead of hearing whining about cow farts and diesel tractors.
you are so right ....................
I eat a meat based diet and although I'm turning 50 this year I feel 25. Stronger every year. I dunno, it works for me. No fruit, veggies, juices, candies, or packaged snacks. Just drink water, whole milk, coffee, green tea. Food is beef and pork, eggs, butter, cheese. I work outdoors all year round, farming and logging with horses, and can go all day on just a good protein breakfast and a litre of water. Simple to cook too. Quite economical as I buy my beef by the whole or side from a friend with Angus. No retail markup and I get all the organs and soup bones.
I seen a doctor eat 100 hamburgers in 10 days. He showed his blood work numbers and nothing got worst and some was better. I believe in 1 2 and 3 day fasting.
It works for other people too, they just refuse to give up sugar.
You da man!! 👏
alot of people back then grew there own food it was alot better 4 U there was nothing added 2 it people then had 2 work so 2 they had 2 eat the work U used alot of energy 2 work all day every day mostly 5 days a week 😊😊 OMG 7 28 2O23
Yup now days men wear night clothes to the store hahahahahahahah❤😮😮😮😮😮
At 24:36 did anyone else notice the meat cutters fingers when he held up three? There wasn’t a straight upright digit at all. Those things looked like they’ve been broken, bent and hit with a mallet on many occasions l 😂😂
That’s just because he was forcing just those 3 up. The other shots clearly show undamaged fingers.
Who believes science is not progress. Some bad. Some good.
High pitched whine all through, rather annoying.
Thanks for pointing it out. I can barely hear it now. At 55 I 'm surprised to be able to hear a pitch that high.
It killed it for me.
My animals perked up and ran.
Young Judy is an all American girl!! 😋🇺🇸

You're welcome
They should have then compared meat with SEA MOSS/IRISH MOSS which contains 92% of the nutrients our bodies need. Im betting thats 10x better than ANY meat, especially the toxic meats we produce these days.... and its texture can be changed/flavored and made into many different meals.
Meat isn’t toxic. 🙄
This is what's known as industry backed education. That's why so many are so deeply entrenched in the meat mentality. All that protein in the meat comes from plants. It just takes a lot more to make 1 gram of protein 11 to 1.
The American Meat Institute, who sponsored this film, is still in business- and still has their offices In Washington, D.C. It's known these days as the North American Meat Institute (following its merger with the North American Meat Association in 2015).
