Hope you all had a great time! I read Clytemnestra this year and it's definitely up there with my favourite retellings, along with Circe, Silence of the Girls etc. Speaking of which I need to read The Women of Troy and the subsequent book soon, as they are brilliant.
What better place to read all the retellings! Hope you had an awesome time. I have almost all the books you held up (besides the Kindle ones) and love those authors. Mary Renault never gets any love and she is a beautiful storyteller. She's such a talented writer. Look forward to hearing about your trip! Greece is so lovely.
Beautiful family! I love the color coordination each day (by Sadie I’m sure!). And baby Iris is gorgeous. Y’all look like you were having a terrific time and what a glorious, reader’s dream to have a themed TBR for the location. Chef’s 😘
Look at you two vacationing in style!! Love the Greek theme, hope these books all hit the spot. I am super curious to read some Pat Barker myself! Happy reading and travelling 🤩
OMGoodness it's Tiny British Iris!!! She's already SO big!! AND she has a Snoopy! Snoopy is my all-time favorite character. I have Snoopy things that are older than both of you 😄😄
Darn that might be the best book back drop of the year. Virtues of war was good! I expected something similar to gates of fire but got something wholly different. But still a good book-I just dig Pressfield
Watching this while making myself a cappuccino while waiting for my phone to charge and planning to go to my local free library to exchange 3 books I own for Steven Pressfield’s “Gates of Fire”, William Peter Blatty’s “The Exorcist” and a 3rd one I find interesting. I hope it’s not too hot in Greece, here in Croatia we’ve had temperatures up to 38 celsius 😅 enjoy your vacation.
Wonderful! Great to have some quality family time in such an amazing place: I have the ruins on Knossos high on my list of places to see! «The Silence of the Girls» is heartbreaking! As for myself, I am currently on «The Green Angel Tower» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy, that book is a beast in size and the prose SO GOOD!) Next up is «The Thousandfold Thought» (The Prince of Nothing #3) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy), then «Leviathan Falls» (The Expanse, #9) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera)!
Looks like a lovely time, complete with gorgeous views, historical sites, beautiful smiles, and even cool family outfits! Congratulations!
Cheers Philip!

Mary Renault is so under appreciated, particularly on Booktube!

You have a beautiful family, Crete looks wonderful. More than one can say for Athens this week.

Cheers Esmay! It was lovely. I have a feeling you’d get a lot out if Pat Barker’s books.
Ed

I don't know why that music makes me tear up, but: good choice! Beautiful video
❤️
Hope you have had a great holiday! I never get to read much when we go away, so your TBR feels very ambitious to me, lol.
Hahah it definitely was ambitious for both of us but we managed to get through a handful!

We totally agree!
Gates of Fire is a different level isn’t it.
Ed
Happy reading to you both!! 🎉
Same to you Safina!
Ed
Sounds like a great holiday lineup.
Thanks for watching 😊
Ed
A question for Sadie. What was harder: flying with a little Baby or flying with Ed? 😂 Great vid, looks like a lovely holiday!
Sadie said ‘both of them fell asleep on me and both squashed me!’ 😂

Wonderful video. That video images also look great, the quality was really good. What camera are you using, if I may ask?
