r/c rock crawler, styrofoam tunnels, cheesy effects, radio shack walkie talkie, terrible acting....this short is absolutely perfect....loved it. reminded me of my childhood watching late night B movies hoping my parents didn't catch me up so late. awesome!!!!
Boy can I relate it was back in the early 60s for me sneaking downstairs to watch the late late late show (northeastern seaboard) all the old b&w horror/monster movies til 3am and being too afraid to go back upstairs to bed after! Good times! ✌️❤️
@@sweetpealee056 good nostalgia for us old folks....I hope they make some more of these.....
You forgot "terrible redneck accent", though I suppose that comes under the acting. Still, yeah, has a feeling of a lot of 80s action movies you might see on TV.
Awesome!!
Absolute true.
It was awesome to see the TRX-4 used in the scenes... very clever to use an RC to film on a miniature set! Don't know if anyone else spotted it, but I sure did. :) Edit: Since it hasnt gone over clearly.. I am not calling out the use of a RC period, I was calling out the specific model for other RC enthusiasts. :)
I have the Defender so I noticed it.
Noticed it because of the inredibly fast wheel turning. 😄 Fun movie.
spotted it as soon as the toy moved
Was wondering which model they used. Looked familiar, but I don't have a TRX in collection. The miniature work was a lot of fun, especially seeing how many CGI films there are. I'd say practical effects for the win!
Yea I thought that was pretty neat! lol
Mason = pretty much the last guy you wanna call for ...anything!
Use of miniatures or whatever... proper old school vibes/Godzilla style. Awesome job guys. Flawless
I love the old-school "Godzilla movie" techniques in this film. RC vehicles. Stop action. Guy in a monster suit. Lots of fun.
Absolutely loved everything about it! Cheesy 80's music & vibe and the old school FX. Everything nowadays is just a mind numbing orgy of CG excess, this was so fun to watch!
Thanks guys, now when do we see what happens to Mason next?👍👍👍👍🤣🤣
They must have worked hard at making every bit of this retro, that was fun, excellent job.
It was a small team, but we had a good time.
At First I Was Like Oh Great a Low Budget Video With Miniature Sets & Models Then About 5 Minutes in Im Just Absolutley Loving it 😂 Well Done You All Did Such an Amazing Job On All Of it & I Bet it Was Loads Of Fun To Make!!!!!!
This was as corny as a Thanksgiving turd, and I loved it! The use of the little rc car made me laugh every time.
1960s Toho industry film opening, Slim Pickens "How I Learned To Love The Bomb"? What else did I miss? Fun, cool movie.
You may criticize this but the fact remains a LOT of work went into making this i.e. the sets, miniatures, costuming, editing etc. I love it for what it is; a nod to all the old greats and not so greats that many of us cut our teeth on! Kudos!
I'm more impressed with the model building and the RC stuff than anything. Reminds me of the old school Godzilla movies done in the 50s and 60s where whole cities were built as models.
Car was RC model! Props for that. Good 80's wibe. Good sketch. Keep it coming.
Yes! Finally, a sci-fi short I don't have to watch at 2x speed! I respect a filmmaker who doesn't need to drag a story out trying to manufacture tension.
I think we *did* watch it at 2x speed...
@@markwuest All singers, actors and politics are in the same club, the club of freemasonry.
At different levels, more or less involved into sick rituals, but still a member of this cult of death.
@@theharshtruthoutthere : Yes, this was obviously a documentary film of his attainment of 14th degree.
@@theharshtruthoutthere Every singer and actor? Do you people even read the nonsense you write? You need psychiatric help.
@@krashd YES
Such cheesy fun I felt like I was back in the 80's.
Thank you for bringing a child like grin to my dreary day
Now, THAT was funny! Some of the other sci-fi comedy skits DUST has posted were, well, trying a bit too hard maybe . . . but this was perfect. The incredibly cheesy monster, 80s retro theme music, clueless contractor guy who really just wants to be an artist but is stuck with this meaningless job, looked like an RC truck model zipping around through a miniature tunnel set . . . very cool. Well done.
Loved it all - the model work, the RC Bronco, the look, the sound, the retro feel...well done :)
Wonderful! A fun romp that doesn't take itself too seriously, or rely on "a twist". It did exactly what it set out to do: Entertain.
I liked it. It has a cheesy-cult-B-flick feel to it. I'd like to see more of the monster/demon too.
Great fun to watch, and probably more fun to make. Took me back to Toxic Avenger and MST3K, and dozens of others I can't recall the names of.
Ah, the "Realistic" handheld CB. Our guy didn't scratch the name out well enough. I expect he didn't want his military-buddies mocking him for getting his equipment from Radio Shack. And all three channels, too!
This is exactly what you want to see in an independent short film. Outstanding miniature work. Very charming. Love it.
I love the fact that this starts with the guy drawing Slim Pickens riding the bomb in Dr. Stangelove.
Dam.. this is cool, usage of miniatures is so rare, and this is really well done.
I just have to say, loved that Bronco. Eye candy for sure!
The detail work on that miniature Bronco was incredible. Hats off to the model modelers in this vid.
The genetically perfect love child of Ben Stiller, John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars and Team America: World Police! Loved all the details in the truck model - the Jan key front bumper was a loving touch
Love the set designs and whole lay out! Plus a guy in a rubber suit!! Really love the work that went into this. Waaaay better than CGI.
OH HELL YEAH! whoever did your model
c build and control deserves a medal! Nailed the feel of late 70s early 80s film
Honestly, this is better than a good amount of Syfy specials. It's got the look and feel of the miniature heavy sci Fi of the 80s. Not bad.
But I want more!!! I want a thousand thousand more!!! Great all, great work, also the soundtrack, magnificent! 🔥👹🔥
Thank the lord we have Mason on the job , he doesn't complain much & like most workers he gets little to nothing done but he has one nice ride & that FORD isn't a fix or repair daily . Nothing to worries about here ,mason has it all covered. LOL !!! This was fun .
That was great. Love the old school vibes
If the aesthetic you were going for was "Full Motion Video Intro to a 1990's Sega CD Game," then you've succeeded in the best way possible. That was a trip!
You nailed it.
This was a pretty cool little video. I really dig the diorama of the tunnels, rock face and the missile silo with the radio control bronco. The paint can with all the rest of stuff falling on the control panel made me laugh. U did a great job on this!!!
Really great use of synth soundtrack to change the tension levels and add brief suspense. Ending theme "surfer country" Really appropriate for the final punchline.
good ol TRX-4 Bronco! i spotted it straight away, i've wanted one for a very long time lol
LOL the RC truck. Hilarious. This is B rated comedy gold!!
This one genuinely rocked. Retro, perhaps. Amazing work, entirely!
Loved all the miniature work. Nicely directed too.
I gave it a thumbs up when I saw that truck move.
The "Gojira" sticker on the Bronco was a nice touch. Love the band and the homage to Godzilla movies.
Awesome modeled set guys and gals. Great job.
LOL, RC truck and 80s cheesy movie music
Considering I'm so accustomed to seeing high-end CGI in everything these days, it was fantastic to see some quality old-school miniature effects once again! Bravo!
I love how this one guy, super into RC cars was like "I got yalls vfx thank!"
Great retro video!!! Love the work that was put into it! Fun as hell to watch!
Feels like a classic 80s movie. I love it
😄 Delightful old school vibe!
Why have CGI when you can do it like ILM in the old days - just cheaper. Much, much cheaper ,-)) Hillarious!
Miniature car through canion & beyond was soo old fashioned that it was really satisfying & funny to watch, thank you for that people
Reminded me a bit of those oldy but goody Godzilla movies from Japan. Was lots of fun to watch this!
It wasn’t a bad video, but it feels like some kid just made their first movie
It’s def low budget 80’s vibes but it’s well done though
Amazing model work! Absolutely loved the movie! Thankyou.
the rc car too good lol
Sometimes it's nice to see a story not taking itself to seriously. Nailed the 90s vibe.
The mix of models and the storyline was great. Lots of effort in pulling it all together.
All I could think was that that place is really poorly designed to keep a demon so easily accessed. I was like wait is that RC car footage? Very fun..
So creative. Love the set design and the remote control bronco.
Amazing... that reminded me when I was a Kid watching the Japanese 60s Godzilla Movies. Love it 😁
This was so epic. Such quality for a tiny rc car hahaha ha. Curious as to what the budget was for this. So good. 10/10.
I think everyone knows a Mason or two at their jobs. They usually are in management. Great short !
We all know a ‘Mason’ like this …
Such a great character, you could make a whole series of shorts or even longer movies about his screw-ups …
Classic Sci-fi old school B movie stuff. Absolutely LOVED it!
Only +200k views? That's honestly a crime to let this piece of master's work go unnoticed just like that.
The body language with the vehicle is genius.inspired, funky!
Laugh and a half when Bronco backs up @ full speed smashing into barrier, barrels and forklift, and then drives away with no damage to spare tire carrier on tailgate.
Thank goodness he was driving a Bronco !
So nobody gonna talk about the Slim Pickens riding the rocket sketch at the beginning?! Come on ppl! That was the best part! 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you noticed.
@@gregoryshultz4892 kinda dates me tho right?! 🤣
Yee haw!!!!!
Kudos to whomever did the RC Bronco.
Love that we can have a new film, yet it be stylized like 80s horror/sci-fi. Stop action films are always the memorable ones, I think the uniqueness and technical approach to this is fascinating for viewers. Story was funny, yet makes you curious, and definitely wanting more. Amazing work!
That was cool! We need a second part of it.
THE FACT that the truck is an RC car is LEGIT! haha LOVE IT!
Love this short. It's got that late 70s, early 80s feel that I remember so well.
Oooh heeelllll!
That's NOT what goes on here!
That was FANTASTIC! So much fun!
I would love to see more from this crew!
Check out Night Crawl on Alter same crew
@@gregoryshultz4892 awesome! Thank you!
@@gregoryshultz4892 that was AWESOME! Thank you for pointing that one out! I loved the something just feels/looks wrong. And the NOO don't go in there...!!!! That was fun! Today's horror tries to be too serious. I like the ones that own the campiness, instead of it being just the location! ;-)
This was so much fun to watch. I kept getting old school Dr Who, Thunderbirds, Godzilla, and 2000AD vibes. The Dr Strangelove reference was excellent. I am watching it again, to see how many other references I missed :)
Is it just me, or was everyone not rooting for Mason to get out. Seriously though, this was fun. Reminds me of Rodan and similar Kaiju moves from back in the day. Loved the attention to fun in the story. All around excellent stuff.
I blame control for all of this, You don't send Dudley Do-Right the contractor to do anything in a facility that holds a end of the world monster. The movie itself was great though, love the retro style of the RC bronco, the papier-mâché "stone" and tunnels, and the old Radio Shack radio. Also, why does every control panel that holds back certain death, always open the doors when it shorts out?
This was fun. Loved the protagonist reactions to his clueless employer. 😂
This guy needs to make a feature film !
Loved the TRC-214's!! I think I have 2 of those in container somewhere! Cool CB retro-tech!
"Mason" is the perfect combination of grotesque, careless incompetence and mind-numbing, colossal stupidity - What could POSSIBLY go WRONG? :) Still, Marty McCue did an AWESOME job portraying "Mason." GREAT short film! :)
Omg I loved this! All of the practical effects are just awesome. I LOVE movies made this way!
Employee of the month 😆😆😆
It was cool, thanks
This one had a very classic feel to it. Loved it. 😃
Dude I got some serious nostalgia for 70s and 80s monster movies from this, obviously using an rc car was hilarious and the transition scenes were well done. Kinda felt like if they made an “Ernest goes to hell” movie.
Lol! Awesome. I was expecting Gwar to come out of the paper mache at the end. \m/
Well that was fun. Great Doom vibes :) And nice use of miniatures to save on costs
Love the RC truck for the vehicle. That was great idea! Cool movie.
This set was so cool! I love the lighting! I especially loved the redness in the clouds behind the monster at the end, but the whole thing was beautifully lit! This was really an amazing set! I've missed things like this with everyone only doing 3D renderings these days.
😂 I loved the 80’s vibe; and the Godzilla, dude in a suit thing was retrocool!
👍👍👍
🤜💥🤛
It's a universal law that EVERY Sci-Fi movie or film whatever, MUST have steam in it somewhere, especially if its a spaceship 'cause we all know they run on steam
groovy RC cars
Has a TV show ever done this sort of thing? I used to love Thunderbirds, Stringray and Captain Scarlet as a kid because I imagined how much fun it must be to play with those little sets but I always thought the puppets looked absolutely stupid, I always wished they had did something like this instead by mixing live actors with small sets.
the RC nailed it
We all know somebody just like him LOL...Well done!
Loved the caves, The 4x4, and Mason. Thought it was going to be a horror flick but turned out to be fun and crazy. Loved it!👍👍
Certified Gold!!!!!
The miniature work on this is fantastic. I wouldn't have even noticed if the bouncing of the truck wasn't a little bit off.
LMFAO!!!!! BROOOO THATS CLEARLY A REPLICA RC CAR!!!! AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!! funny but i love it :)
Great work on it, i love to see how they use the RC truck
Dammit Mason...
Hysterical! Excellent iteration of "the fool and the Devil" folk tales. REALLY appreciated the "Doctor Strangelove" reference!
It reminds me some 90's video games presentations.
Model work isn’t bad. Everything is to scale. Truck is obviously an RC but a quality one like Traxxis. Acting and creature effects have a lot going on…wrong. Feels like you’re following a low level oblivious employee under “the cabin in the woods”. I like the concept.
