Absolutely beautiful machines! Hope to see more videos on them and even a few video clips of the dryer since I’ve never seen or heard those older Speed Queen dryers in operation or even seen one taken apart.
Ooooh, I’ve always loved a lighted Speed Queen. These are BEAUTIFUL… And like a typical Speed Queen, they always run forever. Does the dryer run as well? My great grandmother had THIS EXACT dryer (and it was mated with a Philco, I remember that). Beautiful Vintage Speed Queen Set INDEED. Hope you enjoy them. -Charles-
Originally Speed Queen washers had a mode shifter and that was what the solenoid was for. Around the Mid 70’s that solenoid went away and the reversing motor drive was introduced and then it mechanically switch modes by the direction the motor was turning the drive. But other than that it was basically the same setup with fluid drive.
Amazing Washer, beautiful! My aunt had one I always wanted to be there when she used it. This was a top-of-the-line model.
Took one of those apart when I was a kid. Nice machine. Had a bad transmission. Got learning experience from it.

I'd love to see it use a tide 10x heavy-duty power pod original with downy softener liquid April fresh on a load of laundry.
Awesome!
Is the capacity of that washer 3.2 cu ft?
🤩
What’s that solenoid?
