Literally just had to do this on my 67 Camaro SS over the weekend. I found that going through the holes in the plate behind the back seat was ok enough, just built an "erector set" of extensions on my impact driver and fed it through to the trunk latch assembly .. zip zip and free.
Basically the same as my 57 chevy, could not get through my back seat because of my audio system, had to drill lock out from the outside, then open with a screw driver, moral of my story, I'll keep my lock lubed, they dry out fast it was not rusted!!
Bro my car got broken into they broke window and James my trunk fucked it up the whole piece fell off saw your comment and used a screw driver to open it thanks for the comment definitely helped me out 😂😂💪🏾💯
