      Sometimes a baby bird can get stuck in its shell, the usual way to help them hatch before they suffocate is to very very carefully drill a tiny hole through the shell into the air sac, but I imagine help from another baby bird works really well too, since they have experience hatching and all.

    • @FM-fz7zy
      @FM-fz7zy 3 роки тому +1

      The movement should be irrelevant, as it is super slowly. However all eggs get the same movement in terms of angle, which should in the end matter.

    • @cheongyei

      It's not about total movement vertically, it's about rotation, in which case they all get the same angular rotation.

      @@cheongyei Those eggs furthest from the point of rotation will internally have their mass rotate further around the egg's central axis. It would be significant and worth noting, imo.

    Amazing how fast they are able to function. It's amazing to see life like this. Only thing I want to ask Morgan, between all the vids I watch of yours, you seem to put your animals into containers that have really slippery surfaces. I definitely understand they are fine, but maybe put in some fabric or something so they don't slip around as much, same thing with the big goose crates you used. The birds always look so uncomfortable, but I trust your judgement 100% and just thought I would mention it. Keep 'er going Morgan.

    This is especially interesting now that I've had a first-hand experience with an abandoned gosling found in the middle of my suburban neighborhood street. It was a couple of days until I could get it to an animal rehabilitator and the only way I could keep it warm was with body heat. I lost a lot of sleep those 48 hours, sitting with it to keep it warm while it slept and I didn't. Geese bond really quickly, but I learned very quickly that humans do, too! Since Canadian Geese are a protected species, a rehabilitator was my only option, otherwise, I would have tried to raise it myself. Loved this video!!

    Any animal that hatches from an egg... is so awesome to watch. I find myself also talking at the monitor offering coaching words to help them. lol Thanks Morgan and Alison for all you share with us.

    Thank you for putting up celsius there on the screen. It’s hard for the rest of the world to understand 70+ degrees and things measured in football fields! 😊

    I wonder if the goslings walking around the incubator helps their siblings hatch?

    Loved the music during the hatching. It sounded vaguely alien. I was thinking how it would be to break out of a shell, calling to others in the dark. What a marvel of life!

    I've got to tell you, when I bought my chicks about a week ago at tractor supply, they had the chicks in the galvanized tubs, and they were so much quieter than they were when I was there a few months ago. My boys and I had to go searching throughout the store, whereas a few months ago I just had to follow my ears to find the chicks. Thank you for bringing about change and protecting the lives of animals!
