The documentary film, "The Kid Stays In The Picture," is a fascinating portrait. And the stories he does NOT tell, and will probably take to his grave, are the most tantalizing of all.
Back when movie stars knew how to act at a award show, with respect for each other and with class. Not like these days with some of these actors and actresses making fools of themselves at award shows!

Actually it was Polanski who made screenwriter Robert Towne change the ending of Chinatown. Towne originally wanted Evelyn Mulrey to kill her father at the end & Polanski said NO WAY!! "Nobody will remember this movie if the ending isn't tragic". He was so right!!!
Um, no, it's well documented, as all the expenses of the film had to be accounted for, plus who used which editing room, sound stage, etc... on which date, for which project, for how many hours, what was worked on, etc, etc, etc... Hollywood is a business and the studios keep excellent records

Those two deals put more than $14 BILLION in revenue in Paramount's pockets over 30 years. $14 BILLION. Those are two of the most monumental deals in the history of the industry...and Evans did them both....
