Thank you for the great advice. I usually start out putting, then chipping. Lately I have been working on keeping my arms out from my body. This a great reminder to work on tempo and balance.

I start with a wedge but never had my feet together ; thanks for a very useful tip . Then I move to 9, 7,5 . After that Driver and finish with wedges again . Never did half or 3 quarters swing which was also a very useful tip .

Great advice, thank you. First time I've heard someone say how to use the alignment stick to check your setup after the fact. Do you set it directly at your target or parallel to the ball's path?
To answer your question, I usually hit 2 large buckets = 180 balls. I start with short clubs and partial swings and gradually add power. Working my way up the bag to driver. Then I'll work on specific shots with various clubs. Or I'll challenge myself by picking targets, trying to stop it, shape it, running it out and getting it to stop. I take lots of little breaks and keep stretching. I keep forgetting to practice left hand shots though.
What about warming up before hitting anything??

My driving range time is spent loosening my lower back so I can swing the club.

I always practice with my Callaway Mavrik short irons first, then work my way up through my golf bag hitting every other iron. Then I hit my Callaway Super hybrid, then my Mavrik 5 & 3 woods, then Mavrik Driver. Once warmed up and satisfied with my swing, I simulate golf holes: par 5 - Driver, 3 wood, wedge. Par 4 - Driver, 7 iron. Par 4: 3 wood, gap wedge. I always get behind the ball on every shot to get proper line up, just like I do on the course.
Then I go practice chip and pitch short game shots. Finally, I finish up with putting drills.
If the short game area is clear, I sometime go to that area first.

On a game day, I do similar stuff.
    - Feet close, short swings for connected body and good contact
    - then wedges - half to 3/4 swing
    - irons - odd or even
    - 3 wood or rescue or both - few shots
    - may or may not hit a driver
All together 25-30 balls. Not more than that.
Then chipping or putting - our practice ranges are far from the practice putting green. :-(
On practice days, generally I have plan and drills in mind. Don't exceed 100 balls.
Improved from average 105 to 95 in last 15 months. HCP Index 18.5 now.
I am 54 and started playing seriously and regularly around 20 months back.

I start with my 48, 53wedges, work my way thru the 7,8,9. the on to the 6, hybrid, and then the long woods. I may hit a drive, then grab 5 wood, then a 7,8, then wedge, just like playing a hole. I end my practice with 25 yd shots to green, and then chips with my 56 wedge. Of course, then to putts.

Precies dezelfde manier. 3 ballen per wedge en daarna de ijzers en pas de drivers op het laatst. Dit verloop herhalen. En dan een koud biertje! Groeten uit Hornbaek (DK). E

Most of the time a whole bucket and after that some putting and chipping.

Chipping for 30 minutes first. Then 200 balls mixing putting in. New club every ball whenever I’m warmed up. It takes me three hours. I can’t believe all the people that just blast off a bucket.
