Tiruvannamalai is my native place. With the floating population rising leaps and bounds every day, the tourism industry in Tiruvannamalai is also gaining considerable momentum. Unfortunately, the local bodies are not good enough to make the most of it and convert that into an advantage for the local population.
To say the least, traffic maintenance is at its absolute low, and infrastructure to accommodate the floating population is even worse. If properly maintained, this holy town will be a top notch revenue generating proposition.
If you want to do business, better to think of nicely maintained Short stay homes, quality food and beverage shops, spacious parking lots.... I dont think the tourism industry is going to shrink one bit any sooner in Tiruvannamalai. So whatever business ideas I mentioned are going to stay here for atleast next 5 years.
At the end of the Day, the motto should be to keep the town clean and safe place to live by providing quality products and services at reasonable prices to the floating population who looks to me the key revenue generators for the local population.
From this video, I felt like govt missed a major tourism economy by allowing Isha Yoga (Siva Lingam) business setup in coimbatore instead of Thiruvannamalai.

Arani and adjoining areas are famous for paddy cultivation and rice processing, byproduct of process are rice bran and rice husk. Presently they are not been used properly.These byproducts can be used to develop rice bran oil and Activated Charcoal from rice husk which has huge market.
