This is true. My smart phone needs to be repaired, so I'm using my old Nokia fm 2005 as an emergency phone until then. It's truly the Kalashnikov of cell phones! 😂 I can pretty much do anything to it and it will still work.
@@goodall1bay I've had to replace it once. The original was starting to swell and not hold a charge. Yet, the current one holds a charge for a week or more before I need to plug it in.
Remember glowing/lightup antennas? When you got a call, the signal would trigger the light to dance. Man I feel so bad for kids growing up after the 2010’s, we had the best childhood being a 90’s kid
A man in England found his Nokia 3310 this year after losing it 22 years ago, and it still had a bar of battery left on it! I reckon you are right about your floor theory 😂😂❤❤❤❤
Here's a good one... anyone remember the Journey's hand stickers from the 90's. I always thought it was cool to collect them all even if I didn't have some of the brands they were for 😂. Put those bad boys on my big binder for school
The phone cases were for tradesmen to wear on belt or saftey harness. If there was a fall with a saftey harness for example, the phone is in reach. In some organizations this was a requirement.
Those phones can survive anything. I dropped my cousin phone one time from hiking, and It fell off the side and hit every rock and tree, and it still worked 💪. So he never lets me hold his phone again, and he still has it to this day, and it still works.
I had a 3330. Saves up all my pocket money to pimp it out. Bought an original see through nokia cover. Then changed the lights to white. Then bought one of those batteries that lit up when ever someone called or i made a call. It was sick. Miss those things.
Wearing long sleeve shirts in the summer because I was a cutter. Thats what I remember. Sorry to dampen the mood. I just feel like I need to tell people aboit this, because many of us have kids now. I was depressed and didn't know why. I had a great family and I was NEVER abused. At 10 yrs old I fantasized about deleting myself. I had a mental illness but I was afraid to tell anyone. I was embarrassed because "There's something wrong with me and I don't know why." Please, open up to your kids and make sure they aren't secretly depressed and miserable. When I was in the 4th grade, 2 kids, a brother and sister drowned trying to save their dog when it fell through the ice on their pond. In 5th grade there was a memorial for them in the first page of our yearbook. I would hold a knife to my throat and wish that "I could be where they are". And then I would always tell myself "I'll do it tomorrow." Then at night, when I was going to bed, I would picture what my family having to go through photo albums to collect pictures for my funeral. I knew it would hurt them tremendously. I also knew I might go to hell for deleting myself. Those were the 2 reasons that I didn't delete myself. So it became a fantasy that I thought about alot. I fantasized about being in a car accident. Like we're parked at the store and mom went in but I stayed in the car and a semi somehow crashed into the car and deleted me. That way it wasn't self inflicted. I was so embarrassed about my feelings. When mom and dad started seeing the cuts on me, I lied. "One of the cats scratched me..." etc. Me and a friend used to bring night light bulbs to school. One of us would ask to go to the bathroom to break the bulb. We'd toss the dull pieces in the bathroom trash and then split the sharp pieces between us. Someone saw us and told on us. We were sent to the principal's office. Instead of realizing we were 2 11/12 yr old kids who needed help.....she yelled at us. And after everything we said she did her best to make us feel stupid. She didn't ask what was wrong or why would we cut ourselves. Nope, she yelled at us and told us how stupid we were. All that did was motivate me to be better at not getting caught. So now I have scars on my thighs, chest, and upper arms. My point is, I was afraid to tell my parents or any adult for that matter, that I was depressed. I spent years in absolute agony. I finally became normal when I hit my 20's. But 9 or 10 years of hurting myself really scarred me mentally. Don't let your kids be like me. Talk to them. Open up to them. Do EVERYTHING you can to make sure they won't be embarrassed to tell you that they are depressed. I'm sorry for bringing the mood down. I just really felt a calling to share this information. I love y'all, whoever you are. Don't forget to pray. Jesus can really help of you don't know what to do. He might not write you a letter but he will speak to you. Anyways, goodnight everyone.
I always used a phone case since like many I would strap my phone on my belt, phone cases were really popular. The only people I knew that had custom phone shells were girls.
Had a friend that had his phone in his leg poker, forgot it was there, walked thru a river. Remembered phone and dryers it by the fire at camp, works no issues at all ( phone was a bit cleaner )
1. Old phones didn't use giant slabs of glass because more then text it wasn't used for. 2 Nokia where indestructible. 3 used to swap phone front or back plates 🤣
I do not understand what went wrong in the tech industry I swear my first phone was a nokia and that thing never broke … same thing with my PC … and today Boom broken after 2 years ..
I'm glad Voldemort did not use Nokia phones as horcruxes. He would literally be indestructible. And who wants to pay to fix the floor after your Nokia phone shattered it. You're phone wouldn't even have a scratch.
My dad has me on a continuous search for a phone cover for his smart phone 🤦♀️ I found him one that clips onto his pants like a pouch. It'll do until I find this ridiculous item that doesn't exist 😒😂
I am a 6 foot 235 man so close to salahs hight but a lot more muscle mass. A 2 min shower i havent even got to my back yet.2 mins is like a bootcamp shower 😂😂😂
Ahhh I forgot about faceplates .. I found a Nokia like the one in the first picture , when I was a kid in the trash! Probably a burner 😂 but it worked for a whole year with service ! I was the first kid in school with a legit cell phone
Those old Nokia phones were super tough. My brother's Nokia got ran over by a car and zero scratches on it
I've used my grandpas nokia (my grandmas also had it) and i can say it was better than most of todays phones
Daaaaam
My dad did that too with a big rig and the phone was fine 🤣
My dad accidentally ran over his with a truck and it still worked
Did the car survive
Those Nokia phones were indestructible but by 2006 every phone when you dropped it the battery would go flying across the room 😂
right😂
Phones didn't need cases until smart phones and touchscreens
I had mine in a case, it protected it at work. I still have it.
You are gorgeous
She is, indeed
+1
Agreed!
Quite lovely indeed.

How's the battery these days ?

Had this on my Nextel walkie talkie phone. Had so much fun talking on the walkie talkie with friends before the 9pm unlimited calls and text started
@@212C10 yeah man, we had it made during those early days

@@dutchman8129 yup
And we used to put charms to our phones.
The only problem with those phones was when the battery would come loose and keep shutting your phone off
Those eyes tho 🤩🤩
Tara is a beauty
Sign of the times... good ole days
I dropped my old Nokia off a 200' communications tower, thought I killed it, but when I got down, it still worked just fine
I dropped one of mine off a Dock yard crane It didn't survive, Another one died when I had to jump in the sea to rescue someone.
Phone cases used to be to keep the phone clean and the screen glass from getting scratches only
You're adorable. I love reminiscing the past with your content.
I remember they had stands in the mall that only sold phone faceplates 😂😂
Those were the best cell phone days.
I love your top! And these videos are so great! They take me back to my childhood and teenage years!
You are adorable, I remember my first Nokia, it was blue . And snake was intense
The floor needed protecting then. Ahhh..great times. 😊
Yes especially on the Nokia 3310 was my favorite,
Remember when you would drop one of these phones and the faceplate and battery would pop off to protect the phone? Gen z will never know… 😢
Here's a good one... anyone remember the Journey's hand stickers from the 90's. I always thought it was cool to collect them all even if I didn't have some of the brands they were for 😂. Put those bad boys on my big binder for school
Damn shorty. Looking absolutely beautiful. Your eyes are so 🔥 gorgeous!
Best damn phone ever. No dropped calls.
I used to love the Nokia 8110
Those were so much fun!!
All the arabs at the mall kiosks selling those faceplates
Phone cases back then was such a dad thing to do lol
They need to bring back these phones. The batteries lasted a lot longer, and you only charged them every 3 or 4 days.
They have!
I was 18 years old when cell phones came out 😂😂😂
Those were the days...😅
I loved the face plate
They should bring this backlol
I still have my first Nokia. Got it back like in 2002
The phone cases were for tradesmen to wear on belt or saftey harness. If there was a fall with a saftey harness for example, the phone is in reach. In some organizations this was a requirement.
Than their actual phonehhmmmmeemmm
Yep I remember the keyocera face plates
I miss face plates. I had so many of them and yet rotated between the same 3 haha
Those phones can survive anything.
I dropped my cousin phone one time from hiking, and It fell off the side and hit every rock and tree, and it still worked 💪.
So he never lets me hold his phone again, and he still has it to this day, and it still works.
I used to play the 🐍 game on those Nokia phones nonstop.
Man the faceplates. Idk how you remember all this but I’m glad we keep track of this stuff now

in the philippines we call them as CELLPHONE HOUSING. Cause it's like a house for your phone.
Phone screens were a lot smaller, so the odds of your phone landing on its screen was slim. Probably the only benefit of having a tiny screen.
My Dad ran over my phone with his truck. It was the Virgin Mobile Shorty. He brought it to me and the screen was only half gone. It still worked.
Lol Wet Seal was where the phone cases were 🎉
Those gray brick phones the size of a Stanley cup :)
I dad had one in the 90s but phone have evolved so much hell I can afford it
The blockia or brickia was indestructible
Batteries that lasted a full week between charges is another one
I used my Nokia as a substitute for a baseball one summer
I had a hip phone case
I Remember Those
Phones were pretty tough back then only water killed em
If you work around construction sites or with heavy equipment you had to invest in protective covers early on and always.
As a Gen Z, I'm baffled that we had an indestructible phone and we gave it all up for the most descructible phones ever.
When guys had their phones on their belt clips
I had a bright blue plate with baby ducks all over it!
😂 one time my I and my dad were remodelling the bathroom, his nokia fell from his pocket, hit a tile and chipped it 😭

I threw my 3310 to an attacking dog…. Hut it on its head, and it ran away, then i called my dad to save me

As somebody who was born in 1989 and got my first phone in 2005. I have zero idea what you are talking about
I actually kinda remember faceplates.

It's not early 2thousands it's early 20hundreds
Yes
My mom had a flip phone which a case on it and it wasn’t very good it covered the microphone and spoke so it wasn’t good to use
I grew up in the 80s. Girls weren't as pretty as you. I should've waited 10 years. 😢
Why cover the phone when it's indetructible?😅
😂😂😂
Not going to happen
