I've been told that True Ancestors is outdated and that PS2 Classics GUI is the exe to use. I've tried it following MrMario's tutorial, but I can't seem to get it to work. It does not autopopulate the CONFIG file, like it seems to for everybody else. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. PS3 Dev Wiki's page says the game I want to use is playable. I'm totally at a loss.
go to advanced system settings. the third tab will say advanced and under performances click settings. one of the tabs on the top will say data execution prevention. click add and go to the folder containing your gui stuffies then individually add PARAM_SFO_Editor, PS2classics_GUI and ps2classics with the second option selected (turn on DEP for all programs except... etc). after that's done right click the applications just mentioned, go into properties and under compatibility run them all as administrators. idk if u still need help but this worked for me. its worded weird but hope u understand
Thats because of the file system your flash has which is FAT32, to avoid the 4gb per file cap you need to format it as NTFS and then use simple file manager on your ps3 to move your pkg to your hdds package folder, then you install it as you would normally with any other game

When I launch the installed PKG on my ps3, the ps3 disconnects from my tv and controller, the same way it would for an ISO but, it stays that way and never launches the game. Ps3 stays on like this like it's frozen, anyone else run into this? (Would use an ISO like I normally prefer, but this particular ISO won't let me save the game, so someone told me I should convert to a PKG and see if that fixes it.)
I found a program called "pop-fe" that converts ps1 to ps3 pkg. It works amazingly! It works with ps1 iso. Does not work with eboot.pbp files! You can customize all the XMB info. Most of the data is scraped automatically when you add first disc. You can also add XMB background music for when the game is highlighted on the ps3. It also has support to add multiple disc games. Just make sure you enable "Disc Swap" on those.. I found it works best when you enable "Force NTSC" and "Force newps1emu". When converting to PKG the program will appear "Not Responding". Just be patient because it's actually converting during that phase. You'll get a popup when conversion is complete and it clears out for the next conversion. The more discs a game has, the longer the conversion process. I found the program works very well!
some ps2 require an eboot file to run it may be corrupted trying re downloading it that may fix it. also look in your exdata as you may also need exdata for it that is corrupted

@@theguywithnotattos I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was copying the title ID from the website and did not realise the PRAMSFO title id field has a character limit. Because the title id on the website has a dash, it was omitting the final character. I typed it in and now it works. I hope this helps!
I had this with Gran Turismo 4. had to use a differnet gameID (USA version, 2 gameIDs on Vimm's lair) so likely need to check that, will differ depending on region

Its simple , just copy the ip address of the ps3 to the computer file explorer and paste it to packages file
