    They have mentioned their plans in changing the speed of the dialogue speech bubbles.

      Oh I must have missed that in their post. The devs generally seem aware of most flaws with this game, so I'm optimistic that they'll be able to keep improving it

    I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! thanks for the great review
    this made me think it's better to wait a bit until the game is in a somewhat finished state and then playing it would be more enjoyable
    also video idea: try making guide/tips videos for rather harder/more popular game would be pretty cool

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому

      Yeah I don't think there is any harm on waiting for this one a bit longer. I've had fun with it so far, but planning to put it down and come back after there are some more updates.
      I've considered doing some guide/tips videos for certain games, but never actually followed through because it's hard to tell how good I actually am at this games lol. Maybe I'll test one out in future and see how it goes

    Man, I cant agree more with every word you said. :D These were my problems too with the game, tough i really love it, and just finished it. But it needs more content, better level designs, fill up the empty spaces on levels, better healing and rewarding system. Cant wait for the full game to be released - someday. :)

      Definitely excited to see how much progress they can make for full release. Yeah it still needs a lot, but it really has so much potential

    Nice to see you covering this game since I also wanted to get my HANDs (haha) on it but I didn't quite have the time for it. But I'll definitely will be coming back to it so it is good to see some of the problems I have to be aware off.
    Thanks for the review and good video as always.

    Nice review. I wonder if they will increase the price once it's out of early access.

      Thanks! I haven't seen anything, but tbh it wouldn't surprise me if they went up to $20 or $25 on full release.

    I saw a trailer somewhere for HAND but didn't pay much attention to it, so thanks for covering this game, I will keep an eye on it. The fast action looks fun and the fluid animation style made watching your gameplay really enjoyable by itself. I wonder how creative they can get with enemy design and boss battles, because if that one boss with the rope represents what I think it does, then...wow, they made some dark character design choices (which I would enjoy).

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому

      It's definitely a good fluid action game and it plays really smooth minus one or two things.
      It's funny because the game feels generally light hearted with the character's jokes and stuffs but they do have some darker enemy designs (like the one mini boss with the rope). Curious as well to see where they go with all of the future bosses that they add.

    *near 3:10 in, you mentioned that completing challenges unlocks the item. Not to be rude but completing challenges only gives you a discount on the cost, so you still have to pay gold, its just that if you complete a challenge you only have to pay a fraction of the gold (even if you complete the entire challenge).

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому

      Yeah you do technically still have to buy them which I should have clarified, but they're also like 99% off and often even 1 single gold ingot, so you effectively unlock them for free if you get the acheivements/challenges.

    I agree 10000% with this entire review. My biggest issue is with the healing. Makes little sense to me. Its not explained anywhere. I have to restart runs often when you take a hit early. It seems like you cant recover if the mistake is big enough.

    Would you compare this to Dead Cells for a lot of the core gameplay? Viewing the video footage reminds me heavily of it, especially in the equipment room at respawn where they hang from the ceiling.

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому

      I would say that it feels closer to Skul or a platformer Hades than it does to Dead Cells. I think Dead Cells has more deliberate combat with dodging and parrying timing and such but HAND involves more spam attacking.
      The equipment room definitely feels closely inspired by Dead Cells' though

    I liked this review, talking about what is good already, and still missing. The graphic style is beautiful as is. A a unique game that fits your style coming out of early access soon is, 'The Void Rains Upon Her Heart", 236/236 positive reviews on Steam. It is very fair roguelight, Bossrush Bullet hell with a bittersweet story, where you do not kill, but love bosses. Also has massive content and polish and a very smart difficulty curve, where the player chooses boss level diverse rewards each fight. I true hidden gem and labor and so well executed.

    Is this game a maze like experience like Hollow Knight? I admit that turned me away. The most maze like experience I’ve handled for a platformer was Amazing Mirror. If it’s more straightforward I may try this

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому +1

      It's pretty linear, especially in the earlier levels. You don't think you would really get lost or anything in this game.

      @andytekampe8748 2 роки тому

      @@InsertReviews Okay, that’s really good to know. I had no flipping clue where I was in Hollow Knight and it was the first area. Lmao I admit I’m leery trying a permadeath game though. Pretty intimidating.

    • @InsertReviews
      @InsertReviews  2 роки тому +1

      @@andytekampe8748 All roguelikes and roguelites have permadeath in some form. It can make them seem harder at first, but you just have to realize that you'll lose a lot and treat it as a learning experience for the next run (similar to souls games). If you grab HAND, just have fun trying things out, seeing the content, and don't worry too much about trying to "win" as quickly as possible.

    • @andytekampe8748
      @andytekampe8748 2 роки тому

      @@InsertReviews Lol I didn’t realize it actually spells “hand” But okay, yeah I guess that makes sense. Just play it to have fun and not really focus on the end goal. Just kind of screw around until I master things and then actually try to win is what you’re saying? I could maybe get behind that. Boss fights will be quite a pain though I’m sure.

    was my first rouqe like game and last dumb the game takes everything away from you if you die even your life so if you have 95 life health bar and you die it wil reset to 65 what kind of bs is that it takes away the motivation to be better ! the levels are empty and boring ,yes the combat is fun the humor and art design is cool but thats all there is at least give me somekind of way to defend my self dashing all the time gets boring fast ! the mini bosses are often times the same i got to level 2 and died and it took me all the way back to level 1 with nothing not even my health lol wtf !! there are better games out there for shure !! and i realy tried to like this game whats the motivation to keep playing if 1 death makes everything go away zero ! and yess i like hard games i finished all the souls games and recently wolong and after that Planet Cube: Edge < recoment it hard but fun and rewarding !!
