The king air is such an absolutely beautiful and versatile machine. How you guys are utilizing it is a perfect example of what that aircraft is meant to do which is being able to fill a variety of different aviation roles. Awesome videos too guys glad I found your UA-cam page!
I'm just a regular bloke with a private license but I love these videos and I love how Rich interacts with everybody in the comments. Super passionate and inspiring. Keep the videos coming Rich.
that was the quickest gear up ive ever seen, not surprised that the plane freaked out tbh.. but since the crew found it strange I guess its not supposed to do that??
Great video. The Stearman brings back memories. When I was doing my PPL at 23N in New York, I bought a ride in one of those (Year 1941, I think) and scored .6 hours in the logbook. Full loops, hammerheads, wing overs. It was awesome.
Hi Rich, as always love these type video’s. Really well done. The gear warning your experiencing is possibly one of the micro switches in the Throttle quadrant not contacting / releasing when the throttles are advanced. With the engines not running and you push the throttle forward you will hear a seri3s of micro switches contact and or release, these are the Gear a warning and Auto-Feather.
Thanks. We will check that out. That take off was with flaps so when the gear went up the warning came o for gear up with flaps out I believe. I’ll see what the mx people say. Thanks for watching.
Could also be the flap selection. The horn shouldn’t go off in that specific configuration unless you had more than 30% flaps. Or the switch that detects the flap position is off. Food for thought. Beautiful bird.
WOW, Craig was super calm for getting warning alarm 3 seconds after rotation, my heart skipped a beat! I noticed it didn't sound on the takeoff from Napa? That Stearman is beautiful! In 1989ish, I think I rode in one at the Flying Circus in Bealeton, VA did all things; rolls, loops, hammerhead, cuban 8...was a bucket list experience for a non-pilot- lover of all things aviation. Lol..thanks for the video, always enjoyable!
We knew that the alarm would most likely happen because it had happened to him a few weeks ago in Mexico as well. It only happens if you take off with flaps and there shouldn't due to that. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@FlyingwithRich those are private hangers. I was in there for a year waiting for a city hanger. They are 40x40 north of $1000 per month. Hayward hangers I can give you the contact info if you would like.
We typically select gear up with a positive rate of climb indication. The buzzer was associated with the flaps and a sensor issue. Thanks for watching.
Excellent and well done video! I stumbled onto your channel probably because I’ve been researching King Air’s. Very nice aircraft with a beautiful panel! I’m even more inspired by your story of how you got OCR started. I’m looking to possibly do something in the aircraft sales market myself, any tips on how to get started please share.
Hi Rich! Will you be flying the Stearman or the Aeronca Champ? I saw both recently listed on your web site. Would love additional information on the Champ.
@@EdwardTilley I think there is a misunderstanding. Our King Air doesn't need an avionics upgrade. It has already gotten a huge upgrade with 2 G600s and 2 GTN750xi units. This is pretty much top of the line.
@@FlyingwithRich 0:45 - yes, it's my confusion only. Avionics are modern, screens look small due to the wide-angle shot from the back seat - I see this now. 3:34 captures the true scale of the dash screens and video 5:14 makes new avionics very clear. I wasn't paying close attention and thought you were switching between two planes (and dashes). Thanks for your patience with my now cleaned up comment :)
I had the exact same problem with my Cessna 177RG with the gear warning going off when on takeoff.... The issue was resolved and it had to do with the prop lever being too sensitive and the horn goes off when the prop lever goes under a certain manifold pressure.... not sure if this is the issue with the king air but thats what happened to our plane
Great video as always. I'm curious, I know there are different configurations for the King Air, but I've always seen them as gas guzzlers when compared to the Cessna 441. Which would you rather have? Personally, my goal is to one day own a Piper M600 (used, I'm not rich!), but if I was going to own a twin engine turboprop, I would think the 441 is cheaper to operate.
The Conquest II with the Garrett/Honeywell engines is very efficient. The Conquest I with PT6s is comparable to the King Air 90 - fuel burns close - Cessna didn’t have the success with the turbo prop Conquests that Beech did with the King Air line. Once the Citations started up they focused on the jets - I think that plays a big role in why Textron put the Denali under the Beech name. Thanks for watching!
Haha good one! But that's part of our phones nowadays and we actually have a flashlight on the King Air but we didn't need it! Thanks for the funny comment.

A day in the life…and what a great life it is. Thx Rich!

Beautiful f90 what a machine
That Stearman was beautiful, the next owner will enjoy it I am sure.
I agree! Thanks!

KIng Air looks great!
an easy way around the warning sound is to raise the landing gear before you take off.
Fun video, thanks for posting (subscribed)!
Thank you!
Like the rego on your company King Air.👍
Cool as always. Love all the info you share!!

In my dreams I fly a king air exactly like that one. Beautiful plane😎

7:48 The Stearman would be the perfect Airplane to own and fly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fly it low and slow and enjoy the views and weather.
Hey Rich, wish I knew you were at KHWD. That's my home airport and I would have loved to check out that King Air.
Cool planes. Would love to see some startup footage in the future
According to a song a few years back, "It never rains in Southern California". 😀

Love the king air.friend of mine died when he was practicing aerobatics and the engine fell off.
Love the videos man! Keep em coming!!

Hey Rich, anyway you could do a video on the Beech Sierra you have advertised? It’s one of the planes on our list. Appreciate it and love the videos!
I like your videos for what it’s worth. Thanks!

Seems like it would be a good idea to take an A&P IA to examine the plane and logbooks. But maybe you have those credentials.

I just can’t even imagine how much money you need to have to casually say “let’s take the airking today” 😳
King Air is a beautiful bird but expensive.
You might need to maintenance that false alarm
We have our maintenance shop look at it.
135 1900 guy back in the day. Maybe not so quick on raising gear?
Looks like it would be hard to fly.
The Stearman?
