Machines are never smarter than the programmer. The term is and always has been garbage in , garbage out. Machines can collect the data but they cannot ask the question. They even have to be programmed as to which answer is the correct one. Kind of like college students

That would have been the case 20 years back, but for the future, and even somewhat the present, we can't keep using our "intelligence" as an excuse to deny how much better AI is becoming than we ever will be. To be honest, it makes sense why most people don't want to admit how much better computers will become, because why would you want to admit something you designed to help you is better than you.

When I call ohio edisons automated call and say "make a payment" crystal clear 10 TIMES IN A ROW and the robot says "I'm sorry I didn't get that" 10 TIMES IN A ROW before transferring me to a human being.. I think it's a pretty safe bet we got some time before worrying about computers taking us over.
