I used to work at a 4 star hotel (believe it was awarded a 5 star rating a few weeks after I quit) and we gave out small tubes of toothpaste to guests who requested them. We also put face masks in the bathrooms but I think we stopped because everyone got tired of finding used face masks on the floor-
For toothpaste, most places actually have it, but you have to ask for it and usually they only give you a few packets. I always bring toothpaste with me just in case (the last hotel I stayed at ran out apparently so I had to buy some) but soaps and shampoo most hotels provide, so I don't usually bother packing those.
Wise choice. The place was most likely crawling in bed bugs. I just thought it was funny that any hotel would have an hourly rate. at least these days.

Ive been in hotels that provided toothbrushes and toothpaste. It just came in a kit with soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. Ive also been a hotel cleaner and we used fittted sheets with coloured tags to identify sheet size.
So, I’ve worked in hotels in the US and many hotels there provide toothpaste and even deodorant if you ask at the counter. You’re more likely to get it for free in franchise hotels than mom and pop ones.
I’ve stayed at a few hotels this year where they’ve provided it. The Marina Mandarin Singapore uses a generic toothpaste that is branded as theirs. I’ve also stated in Phuket and Bali as well as other Singapore hotels throughout the year and they all provided it.

I recently stayed at the 3-star rated hotel called Marxal Resort And Spa located in Sheki/Shaki (a city in Azerbaijan). IT WAS NEARLY THE BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO EVEN IF ITS 3 STAR RATED! My absolute favourite was the Catamaran Resort (I don't know if I spelled/spelt that right) in Lombok, an island in Indonesia. But it was 5-star rated and didn't make a big difference. Im tryna to say that the rate doesn't matter at all. Just read the reviews. It also depends on where is the hotel located. Shaki/Sheki is a quite, peaceful place while Lombok is an island with a beautiful sea. Also Catamaran Resort has little houses as the rooms, while Marxal has mansions, but only for summer stay. (Lombok is a place with Summer goin' on the entire year, but Sheki/Shaki is a really cold place located in mountains) Btw Marxal has a big building for winter stay. I think no one even cares but meh.
Have to call foul on the one about not accepting money and only accepting credit cards. Cash must be accepted for ANY payments, it's the law. In fact, if you look, you will see notice of this on every bill from $1 and up "THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE." If your hotel gives you a fit about it, call the police to come and settle the matter. I have only seen ONE case where cash was not accepted and that was at a "self-checkout" at Walmart where the terminal had a malfunction. And even THEN, you still had that option by using a different terminal or use a cashier.

Some great comments. Something else I’d like to share, is I’ve always used a debit card when staying at hotels. I’m a person who has gotten way too much trouble using credit cards in their life. And so I’ve chosen to just stick with a debit card. I’ve never had an issue paying with one. In fact I don’t even bring it up when I book the room. I’ve even used it to pay for a hotel in Vegas. This was some years ago.
I work at two hotels and we have toothpaste available, at both, on demand. We also use fitted sheets and we have 3 room types to manage. Also our safes do not have a specific master code, instead you need a device that is plugged into the safe, and then a manager password in order to open it.
My sister actually medically NEEDS socket next to her bed at a hotel. It's because she snores too much so she has a mask thing that needs to be plugged in.
I've stayed at many hotels, and you would be surprised because at one I stayed at, my brother forgot his toothbrush and toothpaste. He got a small packet of toothpaste and a plastic toothbrush for no extra cost. And also take as much free stuff as you can as in, lotion, bars of soap, face masks, coffee cups, k-cups, etc.
if they provide with bed side lights on the end tables, those lights must be plugged in to give u light, right? so unplug 1 of them and plug in your charger..its that simple lol..
Well I'm a housekeeper, so of the three hotels I have worked at. Only two of them gave toothpaste, and as far as the sheets go..... I really wish they would make my life easier and go with all flat sheets. Cause seriously, fitted are a real pain! Of all three hotels, none of them have had a phone in the bathroom. And (I've worked in newer hotels) so they all had outlets next to the bed. Great video!
I've never seen toothpaste left in the room of many hotels I have stayed in over the years, but I do know that if you ask some will give you a small tube as well as a toothbrush. I never use Hotel safe, if I carry any valuables I keep them on me at all times even if going to the swimming pool,of which I will use a locker and carry my own lock or my companion will hold them for me. I've stayed in hotels which do use fitted sheets, I'm not too sure about some of the contents of this video.😕 Checking reviews does make a lot of sense.😆😉 Thanks for sharing anyways.
My mom literally steals every tooth brush kit ever from all hotels we have been to .......why wouldn't they provide it ?? At least where I live, we always find sanitary kits in bulks
Some you asked for and on where the hotel is or is run 🏃🏻♀️ if wants you it should have proved simple things ( travel 🧭 type small things ) and those pads in washroom or in place where you can find all the time and you just asked them ( may sound sensitive and personal ) but have bloody underwear 🩲 not good sign ( service that provides by them ) feminine’s items are sensitive to asked for getting help from them show they care about you the paying customer
Some of this is wrong. Homewood Suites has toothpaste at the front desk if a guest requests it. They use fitted sheets on the beds and have ceiling lights too.
I don't remember hotels providing toothpaste in the United States, usually bring my own. I have stayed at an expensive hotel that had a phone in the bathroom which did confuse me. Thank you for clarifying
In East Asia, hotel rooms always come with toothpastes. Lots and lots of toothpastes. Every hotel, from the super cheap to the 5 star ones. People need to leave this country to see how other people live, at least every once in a while.

I’ve never had an issue paying with one. In fact I don’t even bring it up when I book the room. I’ve even used it to pay for a hotel in Vegas. This was some years ago.
Wait no, hotels provide toothpaste , the mini ones
I work at two hotels and we have toothpaste available, at both, on demand. We also use fitted sheets and we have 3 room types to manage. Also our safes do not have a specific master code, instead you need a device that is plugged into the safe, and then a manager password in order to open it.
My sister actually medically NEEDS socket next to her bed at a hotel. It's because she snores too much so she has a mask thing that needs to be plugged in.
lol
Oh
Ironically, I'm watching this while brushing my teeth using hotel toothpaste.
Why do we even need to know “why there is no toothpaste in hotels”
I've stayed at many hotels, and you would be surprised because at one I stayed at, my brother forgot his toothbrush and toothpaste. He got a small packet of toothpaste and a plastic toothbrush for no extra cost. And also take as much free stuff as you can as in, lotion, bars of soap, face masks, coffee cups, k-cups, etc.
The only way to keep your rare things safe is not to bring it from the beginning
Easy man😎
A lot of hotels never wash their beddings.. they have bedbugs and could have roaches and the rooms can be realy dirty.
Lol all of the hotels in Malaysia provide toothpaste,
except its small ones.
Bright side: exposes hotels
Trivago: 0-0
holiday Inn: We don't do that here
8:47 ....not true ... there are sockets behind the nights stands to power up the lamps or there are socket built-in on the base of the lamps .
He told near the bed
Bright Side- How you protect your stuff while travelling
Me- We don't take any precious thing while travelling
if they provide with bed side lights on the end tables, those lights must be plugged in to give u light, right? so unplug 1 of them and plug in your charger..its that simple lol..
Don't forget "hold" on your card during your whole weekend even though they have already charged the room, like Comfort Inn hotels.
Q.Why do they have phones in bathroom
A. If you P. Your pants you can call and the maids clean it up also they kick you out
Was ok until they said the U.K was a group of islands.
It’s true but deserves more recognition plus who needs to explain that.
#14 Except the customer who might get a bill shock or ripped off for some damage they did not cause.
i guess these facts are true for american hotels.
iceberg789 definitely. I have a German background and hotels here use fitted sheets only for example
Nope. Hotels in America use fitted sheets and give out toothpaste. I’ve worked at several.
They also don't overbook. They get credit card details when you make the reservation and if you don't show, they charge you for the room.
True for some European hotels as well.
Bright side needs to work on their lies.
I ain't believing anymore
Deborah Seth-Osehahumen bright side is a Russian run website!! Check Rachel maddow 12/19/19 show!
True
Agreed
blackcar1 rachel maddow is a liberal (political not insult)
blackcar1 also i cant seem to find the clip which she says that can you send the clip and timesyamp?
I've never seen toothpaste left in the room of many hotels I have stayed in over the years, but I do know that if you ask some will give you a small tube as well as a toothbrush. I never use Hotel safe, if I carry any valuables I keep them on me at all times even if going to the swimming pool,of which I will use a locker and carry my own lock or my companion will hold them for me. I've stayed in hotels which do use fitted sheets, I'm not too sure about some of the contents of this video.😕 Checking reviews does make a lot of sense.😆😉
Thanks for sharing anyways.
My mom literally steals every tooth brush kit ever from all hotels we have been to .......why wouldn't they provide it ??
At least where I live, we always find sanitary kits in bulks
That's not stealing, it's not free.
4:19 i like to hide my room key in my pillowcase whether it is safe or not
I don't remember hotels providing toothpaste in the United States, usually bring my own. I have stayed at an expensive hotel that had a phone in the bathroom which did confuse me. Thank you for clarifying
0:39 when I throw my phone at my wall
Lol
In East Asia, hotel rooms always come with toothpastes. Lots and lots of toothpastes. Every hotel, from the super cheap to the 5 star ones. People need to leave this country to see how other people live, at least every once in a while.
“Hotels don’t give toothpaste”
Me. They do
yeah they actually do
