Not only that, he seems to be not affected by it all. I always have the speculation that it is because Kirei doesn't feel any "emotions" at all, he thought that eating a very spicy food like Mapo Tofu would at least give him the physical and emotional response he was looking for, which is through eating very spicy food.
While I love all his roles whether he is Tokugawa Ieyasu (SW), Uesugi Kehshin (SW), Naobito Zenin (JJK), Ganabelt Valkyris (Tales of Arise), etc, My personal Favourite (& for most of us) will always be Kotomine Kirei.

I was so hyped to hear him in the anime... you could imagine my disappointment. On a related note, I do miss Jolyne's original voice as well. The current one isn't bad, but the original actress had such a smooth voice perfectly suited for Jolyne. I seriously have no idea how DP managed to mess up the Stone Ocean anime so bad.
