Bro every time this man uploads I want to restart my city cuz his cities look so good
Exactly man😭😭
Realizing your mistakes is my favorite part honestly
To be honest based on his videos ive rebuild most of my city in cs2 already twice😂
Exactly what I'm doing
real
BONUS TIP: Get the road tools from the skill tree and make the streets in your industrial district have wide sidewalks. Many times, cities will have bans on street parking in areas with large amounts of Truck traffic, because this gives the trucks more room to turn without fear of running into cars parked on the side of the road. (This will also drive traffic to your parking lots Imperatur had you make.)
I would never have thought of that! Great tip thanks :D
Yes! Wide sidewalks is an excellent "No parking" tool for areas where grass doesn't make sense
I’d love to see more of the zone tutorials. Your cities always look so good!
Thank you!:)
I agree, let's see more zone tutorials!
Yes do these for all the zones so many great tips!
We need more zone controls in the game. Probably also 2 or more types of Industry like Light and heavy, warehouses etc. And Medium density offices.
That would be really great
Great idea and easy to do with @imperatur's video. Light yellow (even if maxed zoned) would only result in 2x2 - 2x6 type industries, while dark yellow would zone 3x2+ type zones with the smoke stacks. Small industries would cater to some of the high quality items, while the heavy industries would pump out the bulk products using the resources on the maps. Warehouses would be great to add like parking lots. Different types/sizes to support the area's storage and avoid trucks hauling goods across the zones. Smaller delivery trucks would delivery goods from warehouses > Commercial zones.
I think CS3 (or maybe CS2 in update or DLC) should separate smoky (heavy) and non-smoky (light) industry into two different zone type
I been saying this since I found SC❤😂
I love that you do this in vanilla. You make things look good without resorting to mods like so many others!
i love the trick for small buildings with no smoke, these kinds of industry parks work great in small sizes around the outskirts of cities too not just in big parks
i like to keep my arterials running through my industrial zone with nothing zoned on them, the compact 2way highway with 4 lanes works great, then using alleys 1 unit away from it and normal or wide streets running perpendicular to connect, filling the 1 unit gap with trees. It reminds me a lot of industrial parks near me in st Louis, you lose a bit of space but it adds lots of greenery and makes the roads look real structured and gives you distinct sub zones to your park. There isn't a great deal of industrial traffic in cs2 so it's not necessary but the looks are worth it 🎉
I watched this and literally spent four hours building a new industrial area between the sea and highways, with a cargo and train harbour. Looks amazing and resolved all my traffic congestion issues. Thank you 😊
Maybe Paradox should make 2 kinds of industryzoning. A heavy industry and light industry.
Yeah that would be cool:D
A good road structure is very important.
I can see that you put much effort into this!
Always😬
I also like to make industrial parks with a more flowing, less grid-based road layout and a lot of alleys for the actual zoning, it looks like a modern, suburban industrial area. If it's near a rail line you could even put in sidings just for show on some of the buildings, as if they had rail service
this industrial design with offices and commercial too is great!! i tried to do similar and i did, the only problem was the traffic... with that many close connections on collector roads, it can be a big problem. (even if i don't understand how traffic works in this game.. i see cars go smooth and the street is still red, maybe cause they have to brake for the traffic light).
that was a good video, really enjoyed. and yes, i'd love a series of videos like this for each zone. one of the things i love about this video is the 7 min run time. its manageable. too many 45 min to 1 hour videos from a lot of content creators. too much to sit thru and i never get back to them like i intend. short and sweet is the way to go! Thanks, keep up the good work.
Awesome guide, so helpful! Would love to see more guides like that.
This looks great! And yes, we would love a video like this on each type of zoning type. You can even do variations for different themes such as suburban sprawn vs a mid level residential area. Love it.
keep this series up. love the use of mixed zoning.
it was also great to see what asset pops up in each grid layout. could you focus on it a bit more and maybe compare your favorites.
Awesome work yet again!
This dude is a champion for doing this all in vanilla cs2, I could never
Thank you for this - it will help my cities look better immediately! Nice work! So glad tree don't die like in CS1
Really like this format!
3:34 look at this. Amazing. That train going to the docks makes me want to play immediately.
Amazing work as always! ❤
Thanks buddy:)
Oh damn...the stone zone is an awesome idea and a really nice touch!
Imperatur is the King of City Builder games 😮👏👏👏👏
Aww thanks man!
I have been messing round with 2*2 industrials to avoid smoke - but your plan is way better.
Great tips, thanks!
Excellent work 😊
Thanks! More content like this please :D
Excellent suggestions!!!
Super nice man ,yes please do it about all zones its super nice and i learn a lot ❤❤❤
I litterally can't stop restarting my city everytime you drop a new video❤❤😂😂😂
So helpful, you're a superstar, thank you.
This actually helped improve my industrial area, thanks!
I love these somewhat short-format tutorials!
Awesome:)
awesome dude
Glad industrial areas dont pollute trees and make them look dead now
Yes and no purple ground
nice tip about using the rock mining zones to fill awkward shapes thanks
great video in general and i especially like the usage of stone quarries to fill out spaces from an astethic point of view. but i wonder if that might be a bit counter-productive in terms of game mechanics.
If you put 3 or so quarries in such a small area with very small harvesting lots, it might trigger plenty of industry that focuses on the storage or sale of rocks (not sure if it also gets processed) and for that, they wont produce enough rock because they are so small. That might also work against visual variety.
a nice way to outplay the unnecessary 70s smokestacks! :)
Please, do a residential area tutorial too!
Yess:)
thank you!
this was a really great video, since i despise industrial sprawl so much
You are the greatest city builder out there❤
Aww thanks man:)
I like these shorter how-to vids. I appreciated them back when you did them for CS1 too.
I like them too:D but the yt meta is long videos unfortunately
I would have less of a issue with smoke stacks if the buildings actually were brick or there was a ordinance that would cut the visible smoke by half.
Great guide, more of the same please 👍
I’d love to see more of the zone tutorials.
Please do a guide for each zone type!!
Just found your channel from CPP mentioning it , he gave you props on being a god like builder , I agree, nice content ! how far away do you recommend industrial area's be from housing ?
wow that's really nice from him, i didn't know that... and thanks for your support bro
I've been doing this a lot with residential to have them not complain about high rent, but I always thought it was too much work to bother with for industrial and commercial
But if the benefit is less air pollution, then i might have to take it up (plus the more organized zoning I feel always looks way better than the random spawn zoning when you mass zone)
The undisputed master at unmodded cities
❤️🫶🏻
I prefer using devmode to fill empty gaps in zoning. And I use devmode to plop specific buildings like warehouses.
Devmode is totally safe to use, there is no reason no to use it.
nice straight to the point tutorial!
question, won't you need larger factories?
in my city, I built harbor and I noticed that I am constantly importing cars. Hence I was thinking why my industry is not making cars. Then I though hummm what if I need large plants to build that?
what do you think? or could it be related to the town level I have too...
I will guaranteed be taking inspiration (copying) from this video!! Would love to see more of these types of videos so i can get more inspiration (copy-paste lol)
a bus --depot-- station road setup tutorial would be awesome
Great tutorial!
Thanks:)
I‘m glad you liked it😌
Tyvm ❤
Thanks for watching:D
If you want to zone it all in while paused, you can use a checkerboard approach.
You should let us download your amazing saved cities!! I would love to play one!
Great! Possibly a realistic train yard? :)
the number of chimneys in cs2 reminds me more of industrial era city like london than modern cities
True
Question... I have cargo train terminals at my major cities. All are interconnected to my main cargo terminal where my industrial area is. But the trucks are coming from my cargo terminal from there and not from the terminals closest to my cities. Creating alot of traffic.
I can‘t help you with that, idk how that all works tbh😂
That intro was genius
Thanks, i really liked it too😂
This is a great tutorial. Awesome.
Really helpful video, makes me want to destroy my city and rebuild as the industry is destroying everything haha
Do it!:D
Please make this for all zoning types!
The GOAT
🐐
Man please do commentary videos. Your insights are great when you talk
I was digging it.....then the damn plopping. I hate building plopping but at least you admitted that you did it. The worst creators are the one's that plop and act like all their beautiful zones grew like that organically
Yeah every building one by one
Build a cloverleaf
Just imagine some plopped ships beside those three roads in the water...
This looks great in theory but they don't show actual traffic once the game is in full force. That looks like a traffic nightmare with all those roads and one two lane highway in and out for everyone?! 😳
If we terraform cliffs around industrial area, will the smog pass through them? I'm too lazy to test. Waiting map editor and mods for motivation to build.
Thats a really interesting question but i think so yeah
My industry is massive and tucked away at edge of the map lol
I’d love to see a commercial district that can be upzoned when the city grows..?
Great idea:)
10 minutes later:
the entire industrial area floods.
Bonjour, j’adore vos vidéos, pouvez-vous me dire quels sont vos paramètres graphiques en jeu pour avoir de si beaux graphismes s’il vous plaît ? :)
Every Zone type Yes Please!!
Can you also make a downtown tutorial?
The issue I have with industries is, in the beginning all is thriving and well... but later on after approaching like 50k residents, industries start to kinda feel off and behave weirdly... I have lots of level 3 and 4 or 5 industry buildings, but right in between I have unoccupied buildings for no reason - I can demolish them and rezone them all I want, they always stay empty. I make sure to lower fees for electricity and water and also taxes as well, but it never changes and I cannot get rid of these unoccupied buildings, while the demand meter is at the max. Anyone knows why that happens and what to do?
Is there possible more real demand for jobs requiring higher education levels? I noticed demand for offices skyrockets when you get a college and university in and, despite there being demand for industrial, offices spring up like crazy.
More guides 🤌
oh yes, more
Fantastic! CS has way too many assets with smokestacks...
One question : is it true CS2 got all the mods from CS1 ? I mean most of the important mods
2:26 How do you make sure that when you remove the earth, that cement wall comes out under the road?
Would you still recommend one way roads to reduce traffic?
I never had traffic issues but that will help for sure:)
I cant get my land to be level...i put the same settings you have on , and when I press left mouse it goes crazy high, and right mouse is in the water
yes please.
yes, series please! especially housing - so boring so far!
Can you make traffic management videos?
and make some interchange tutorials to. there are awsome
Haha yes:D
it would be better if it has voice over.. nice content
So this is what 8 years of experience playing CS looks like.
Do better with the game wtf
Its not my it’s the games fault it can’t be done better
why you put offices and commercial at the same place as industrial?
Because it fits really well and they don’t have stupid smoke stacks
@@imperatur can you explain what's the benefit we can get? Sorry i'm just curious
So how do you turn off the smoke?
no man, im lost already too advanced for me
more pls
i think my game glitched, i started making hundreds of millions from industrial then when i logged out and back in, the income fixed but i kept the money
its a shame that there is so many chimneys..
Perfect = beautiful or efficient?
Both
