PaleostreamCon 2024 / A bizarre ichthyosaur from the Early Triassic of Svalbard / René Dederichs

Afterwards we had René Dederichs who took us into the Triassic of Svalbard. An especially big compliment to René here because he jumped in last minute and created this presentation basically within 24 hours. As he showed us here, ichthyosaurs reached enormous sizes during the Triassic and that much earlier than anyone would have suspected, with probably 10 m long species already present in the early stages of this age.
