That's the part that seriously ticked me off about Virgil's post match interview: "...we want to win every game, especially playing with a team like that." The arrogance is just beyond me. The brother has 1 Premier League title... Last year Man United beat serial PL winners in controversial fashion, but none of those players disrespected us like that.

Roy's got a point here, I can understand VVD's disappointment at dropping points but instead of deflecting his teams inadequacies he should have said something like"we need to be more clinical if we want to win".
A captain doesn't hide from criticising his own players, Roy understands this.
I get his point but every time he gets annoyed with a Liverpool player be it current or ex, he always reverts back to the club winning 1 league trophy in 30 years narrative which i don’t get; what has VVD got to do with that? He came and ended the streak so why is it still 30 years not 4/5 (since 2019), it’s a new era and his history isn’t of 30 years but the 5/6 years he’s been at the club
You don’t criticize your own player publicly. You handle the media then give them a pep talk in the dressing room.
@@tshelby9808But the weight of history is still on the shoulders of the players at Liverpool and if its not, it should be. It was predictable as to how Man U, a team in crises, would set up today and Liverpool needed to be good enough, but came up short. That should be VVD only concern. Liverpool pay his incredible wages, not Man U.
Gursntee you didn’t even watch the van dijk interview because he literally talked about Liverpool not being clinical enough and not making the right decisions.
@@gerd5479 i agree with the fact that VVD should focus solely on Liverpool and take full accountability, my reply was only that of confusion towards Roy’s comments and i hear what you’re saying but i still don’t think it’s fair to hold current players who have won the league as of recent to the last 30 plus years…if Liverpool go on to win 2 league titles in the next 5 seasons, what will the narrative be then? 3 league titles in 38 years? As an LFC fan I totally agree with Roy here, I think the whole team has an air of arrogance about it, they thought this would be a given so its also complacency. We also do it with teams lower down the table. This is why we wont win the league imo
Arsenal are the worst for this, epitomised in Arteta's rant after 'losing points' at Newcastle.
Since Klopp arrived Liverpool haven't yet broken down a low block team. I'm a Liverpool supporter but at times I wish Klopp would be more adventurous with his tactics. This Liverpool side is quite different from last season so although there may have been some complacency some lads should have given more as it's their first game in PL experiencing England's biggest rivalry. Much of the blame has to go down on the management. Even at half time the players should have been reminded what type of game this is. You can say Liverpool were arrogant I reckon Liverpool genuinely snuggled to open up United defence because they always struggle against low blocks and it's something that needs addressing.

@johndavies3100 yes, he's showing far too much self-awareness and humility for a LPOOL fan

How so? ManU spent the majority of the match in the own half. Whenever Liverpool created a chance, you'd see at least 7 of United's men in their own box at all times. Just seemed to me like their entire plan wasn't to win the game, but to just stop Liverpool from scoring. Saying u could get a stinky draw
Keano! Legend!
Really feel for Sturidge here. He does well just to let Keane have his say. Always thought he seemed far too clever and kind for footy.
He did well!
Just contradicted Keane but made few valid points
The confidence/ arrogance before the game was beyond normal
I know we had to rest players in the mid-week game, but it did seem to affect the performance last night. We looked rusty and void of any “ideas” in the final third. United executed their game plan well. Is it easier to concentrate on “just” defending, possibly, especially for a team like United, but it was up to Liverpool to find answers and we didn’t.
Daniel was brave there 😂
True, especially when everything he said are weak defense toward VVD words. He simply putting words to VVD mouth. Keane was right that every visitor has a right to put whatever tactic they have. Your job is to beat them. not moaning about how they set up.
Brave from someone who has won nothing 😂
@@thedalj He's lifted more UCLs than anyone in that room, not bad for "someone who has won nothing"
You can express your frustration about your own team without mentioning United
Exactly
Exactly what Roy was saying, if you bring up the opposition into the conversation it means you are just being bitter. Bitter Van Djik is lovely.
Finally someone gets it. VVD and Klopp’s interviews mentioned United as much as their own team. Obsessed
God you United fans are soft
@@what1356 not as soft as your crying captain who is not man enough to criticise his own team for not winning.
ROY KEANE IS SPOT ON !!! GREATEST CAPTAIN OUT THERE EVER !
True best midfielder utd ever had
@@whoknew2273ME TOO.... LOUD NOISES!!!!!
@@stjimmy1642 YES BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT YOU
Utd delighted with a point and Roy is also delighted with it. Should look a bit happier and stop giving out.
Loved it when he asked how many titles have Liverpool won in the last 30 years.
6 times
Problem here is liverpool didn't do what they supposed to do for the pundits and journalists liverpool had about 4 to 5 forwards to put the nall in the net but couldn't get it in
That's footnall for ya!
Considering how Liverpool got destroyed publicly for failing to sign a proper defensive midfielder, they are doing more than alright
Roy is right what he saying..just look at the amount of years Liverpool had to wait to win league title 🙄
if this is what Roy's like after 10 years, it's going to be a fun few decades to come :D
But van dijk was not part of liverpool for this amount of years. Van dijk came and liverpool got better and start winning trophies and was part of the 7-0 against utd
Man Utd went 26 years not winning a league title (1967 to 1993)
@@donovanemery597 and now they are 10 years into a new drought
And they only won it during a pandemic season as well.
1 title 30 years great Roy Keane brilliant words
Emotional words*
And he forgot 1 in 67 years that United were on when he joined them.
VdV could talk about the inability of Liverpool central defenders to head the ball in front of goal. And inability of front three to pick the obvious pass.
I get what Roy's saying. Van Dijk needs to be talking about his own team and how they couldn't score or make a difference in the game. He doesn't have to mention United at all in his post match interview because it was Liverpool's game to win and everyone knew that.
He did talk about liverpool though as well
He mentioned both, in his post match interview. He specifically talks about how they should’ve done better. He just pointed out that man United came to defend first. Everyone’s being a bit precious. Roy would’ve made plenty of those interviews after a match over his career.
It's just classic tactics when Liverpool haven't played well. Klopp does it all the time
@conors4430 Roy's point was that his team earned the right to say those kinds of things; he won 7 PLs, a CL and 4 FA Cups in 10 seasons. He won't hear it from the captain of a team that has won one league title in 33 years.
@@rolanddeschain588 As Roy put, 1 league title in 30 years, 1 CL and one or two other smaller cups while finishing below United as many times as he has above United is not enough to make this point.
That’s what I love about Roy he tells it as it is but also here he showed the passion for Utd
Tells it like he thinks it is. Not always as it is. .
Roy Keane spot on as always, in true Cork spirit he is never afraid to say what needs to be said 👏👏👏
Absolutely spot on as always
Roy Keane ❤ Captain!
Liverpool have no one but themselves to blame, they had the opportunities and didn’t take them. This wasn’t like they were completely shut out, they had the space to create the chances and they didn’t take them.
For a sport that acts so 'ard there's a whole lot of sensitive people within it
He’s nothing but brutally honest and if more were like him the game would be the better for it , loved it 👌🏻
Alot more olayers would have career ending injuries and walk out of world cups coz they dont like the training facilities. Proper leadership
Brutal! Yes honest no!
