Fantastic mate! I've always wanted to travel on both railways! I very nearly did do a few years back but we missed the train at Porthmadog and ended going up to the mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog :)
+RailAdvent I'd have to do that one day! Oh, one more thing the Thompson Park Railway is holding an open weekend on the 25th and 26th June! Feel free to come :)
Nice video. Delighted to say that the Garratt was able to get by without the extra water tank - there was 300 gallons left in the loco tanks! Good driving? The little engines on the FR were so brilliant and the meals at Dinas and Tan y Bwlch so good that the whole show is being run again in 2017. Watch out for the Snowdonian Limited - and you can be in the picture on 10th June 2017.
How many of these little Hunslets are now running with FR? Where have they all come from? When will we see Mountaineer back. I miss her! Soon after Welsh Pony I hope.
In this video we see Hunslets Linda and Velinheli... Linda is a resident steam locomotive at the Ffestiniog, along with sister Blanche - Velinheli was visiting the railway from the Launceston Steam Railway. Joining Linda and Blanche at the Ffestiniog are Britomart, Hugh Napier and Lilla. Mountaineer is one of the locomotives that they are looking at restoring after Welsh Pony and James Spooner. Thanks for watching :)
Superb video.. Been on both of these railways and you stirred up some great memories for me
Thank you! Well worth another visit...

143 running like a sewing machine. A credit to the team at Boston Lodge.
We can only agree with you there! As are the other locomotives on the F&WHR :)
