Another Spectacular Video.
Please feel free to fabricate another one for me. I will be more than happy to send you my sacrificial vent plate. Please continue to post. I really appreciate your work.
@@kennethgray3794 Anytime brother. Dead serious!
Thanks brother. I would definitely do that!
Welcome back Mike, just want to shout out to Mike for returning with a smile on his face after a tumultuous couple of weeks post hurricanes!!
And viruses, and near death accidents… lol when it rains it pours! But all is well and just happy for what I have
Nicely done, Mike. When I'm finished watching your videos, I want to get back to work on my project, especially now after being sidelined by Hurricane Milton. Thanks!
@@VinceT2940 Hey bro. Thanks! Yeah I hear that - wishing you luck! Seems like everyone and everything has been sidelined lately…
Great looking build going so far.
@@ranwhenparkedgarage Thanks. Much appreciated!
That looks awesome brother!! I like the fact you put the pass threw into something replaceable in case down the road you want to do something else. Whole in the firewall is semi permanent without a bunch of welding and fab work.
@@GrandPitoVic thanks man! Yeah you know me and my tendency to want to change direction down the road lol
@intheshoptv YUP, me as well lol
Very good thinking, to make thing easier so that you can take things back apart again if needed, because you will need to in the long run for repair or new mods, trust me.
For sure, I have a tendency to not leave well enough alone lol
Just put an LS with a 6l80 in my 1971 Riviera.
Never have I been so thankful to own a massive car. Swallowed the 6.2 and the transmission with no problem.
How much ground clearance do you have? One of the biggest problems with the transmission isn’t its height, it’s with how much is actually below the centreline.
@@trevorthompson572 I switched to the Pontiac G8 pan for the 6L80. Its more shallow and I have about 5.75”-6” from the ground.
Nice! Love the build!
I was thinking you were going to stick with the Fred Flintstone mobile kinda thing!
Lol, im not so into foot propulsion but I could go for that giant steak!
Will the threaded inserts rust if they’re exposed to the elements outside the truck?
Great question! The screws wont because they’re stainless, the nutserts could but I plan to do some more painting under the cab before it hits the road, so I plan to coat them on the underside
What company (brand) did you buy your 4-speed tranny cover from. AMG, OER, Dynacorn. Trying to see who has best fitment
@@harlandile3568 keyparts. Definitely needed a little massaging up near the highest portion. Was easy - holes all lined up with the exception of one that needed to be opened by barely 1/16”. Remember though, that these trucks didn’t exactly get assembled with great precision. Fitment issues are always blamed on the aftermarket part, when in reality the inconsistencies in vehicle production are equally to blame!
@ yes sir that it true. I’m going with a TR6060 and current have auto cover and was curious which one you went with. I’ll definitely do the nut inserts for easy removal. Thanks for reply. Merry Christmas.

@ Merry Christmas and good luck!!
How much was that tranny cover? I was pricing a flat one 2 yrs ago since Im running a body lift and got sticker shock.
@@UcantBeSerious03 about $70 at Jegs
@@intheshoptv not bad, better than the 100 I was looking at back then. I have a 55 w/ a big back window, on 1977 chevy k20 running gear 4x4. I think I have stills of it on my profile
@UcantBeSerious03 Yeah Ive seen it for as low as $43 at Classic Industries + whatever they get for shipping. The only reason I didn’t order from them was because I needed it quicker for the video, and they’re in Cali, which would be 5 day shipping
If I had to wire my truck again, which I'm really contemplating. I would definitely go through the floor instead of the firewall. Although I put a smooth aluminum firewall floating a inch off the original firewall looks good but I want it to look better like yours . Great video and do you have a link to where you got that rivnut tool? Again great video thanks
@@brianmcnabb5417 I have a double firewall too! Here’s the link to the riv-nut tool: amzn.to/3YZvSth
Hey, I had replied earlier but for some reason it’s not showing up. Yeah I have a double firewall too that I filmed a few videos ago. Here’s the link to the same riv-nut tool. Works great however I’d get the 16” if I were you as it comes with more dies and I’ve really found myself needing that: amzn.to/4168ITN
