I'm a tech myself that used to work at Mercedes for two years, and yes the price they charge you for a service is pretty fucked, but that's mainly why I work on my own shit due to that. Which is why I got into the automotive industry. I can enjoy the cars I want without having someone else do it for me. I have a 2011 E550 sedan Airmatic+4matic, slammed now lol and I'm going to be honest they aren't that terribly hard cars to work on and can save you a shit ton of money in the long run. The 5.5L M273 is a great engine when taken care of. the one major flaw to M273 is failure of the balance shaft sprocket or idler gear sprockets but this is higher mileage and if not well taken care of. the oil filter housing leaking which is not terrible fix, there's a few other little things but overall there great.

    Service B is
    Oil change with filter
    Cabin air filter change
    Brake fluid swap
Inspection of brakes and topping off fluids
Aka less than 400$ in parts all in all
Up here in Mercedes we make most of our revenue off servicing customers cars more than by selling new vehicles, so I wouldn’t be surprised. However it’s not really much work to do anyways. Oil and cabin air filter take less then an hour combined

    • @Eco19
      @Eco19 Рік тому +2

The fuck is the brake fluid swap????😂 unless something is acting up with my brakes or if i change my brakes, there is no reason to be swapping that shit out… dealers really out here scamming people
“Inspection of brakes” people are really to lazy to take their tires off to check that shit themselves?? 10 minutes lol
Cabin air filter and the top up of fluids… i ain’t even gonna comment on that part like com’on Mercedes…
The most significant thing on there is the oil change w/ filter
But like even with high end specialty oil/filter thats nothing, and also super easy to just do yourself
      People are craaazyyy

@@Eco19 I’m just listing what our dealer says as a service B, I personally own a 550 that I maintain myself. These cars are so cheap it doesn’t even make sense to have someone else maintain it for you. Some people would rather spend 3k on a 100$ job, and can’t use a brain for themselves. And then have the audacity to say that German cars are very expensive to maintain 😂😂😂

I got the 2012 E550 coupe w/ AMG package. It’s be great to me so far but no clue how your B Service was $3000?!
I take mine to a high rated Benz specialist (Not Benz dealership) and it’s about $600-$800.
Luckily I change my own air filter and brakes but that’s nothing cost wise. I don’t have aromatic suspension in mine either so that helps.
Only issue I have w mine is my blind spot assist lights are always on due to a dead sensor which need full replacement, not worth it.
The v8 twin turbo is amazing and worth it.

@@Eco19 if you’re thinking to buy this car and make a decent salary, don’t hesitate. She’s an amazing ride! I’ve heard a few complaints about the E300-400 models but the E550 coupe has been such a love for me.
Luxurious, comfortable and sporty; all in one and just sooo fun to drive!
I’m not a racer by any means but I have friends w tuned Audi S5 and Chargers, and this beats them in a straight line fairly easily and it’s stock AMG package (surprised me).

@@safwanmalik3 i was definitely looking at the 450/550s (for the v8, still not exactly sure on the differences) idc if its the coupe or sedan tho
But if youre saying the 550 is the way to go then im sold👌
Im a “racer” and i raced one yesterday
Seemed pretty damn close in speed as my buddies stage 2 s4
Except he was actually able to maneuver through the traffic almost just as cleanly as my honda
So i just so happen to have got back into the market the other day for a new daily and now this jumped all the way to the top of my list👀👀

@@Eco19 makes sense! You can add a chip tune to it and add an extra 80-100 Hp for around $600 or go for a full tune and get about 110 Hp apparently but for triple that price.
Add a nice exhaust and a window tint and it’s good to go! I got mine w about 57K mileage on it, so it’s still really babied for a 11 year old car but these things can last if you find a clean one. My buddy has one that’s at over 180K miles and that’s was a few years ago, still drives it. Can only imagine the mileage on it now, and he loves it.
Be aware though, a tune might reduce that lifespan, especially if you’re racing. I also got some fancy brembos on mine but I did them myself, didn’t cost too much. The mechanic at Benz however will eat ur pockets dry, take it to a German specialities that’s not the dealership!
      Enjoy my friend! 📈📈

OK so I randomly stumbled upon your page dude and I literally just purchased an E350 4matic sedan, 2013. Immediately I had to replace the front brakes which were 1000, the wheels which were 600, and needs a new battery which is 300 and then the front headlight unit is out which I will probably replace both which is another 600. That’s all I’ve had to do mechanically. But why on earth would you plan to drop $13,000 on a very old e550 instead of using that money to get a newer one? I know they don’t make the E550 anymore but why don’t you get the last model year and try and get the sedan? That’s got the better v8 4.7 bi turbo and hella opportunities for performance mods. The 5.5 has no known mods in existence to increase its power. In todays world, 360hp is tiny from such a large v8. And that car couldn’t compete with other v8s of todays. I wouldn’t recommend doing that. Sell it, upgrade. Hell, get a cls550. Have more space, more power, better looks, and better reliability.

3k for Service B? Something else was done... Maybe brakes on an axle... Timing belt? And takes all day? Maybe due to scheduling but if its close to a full day of labor that's wild... But still a nice car. 13k? Full ECU tune, trans service, complete engine service could get you to 13k easy but most people do this over several years.
