    This is the most thorough treatment of the Traxler that I've seen yet.

    I love the traxler. Talented newer players love to go for the fried liver and fall into it all the time.

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  3 роки тому +3

      That's facts Josh! A very dangerous chess opening that even many Fried Liver Attack players don't often prepare for.

      @@TheChessGiant is castling good against the traxler?
      i know what the traxler is, i learnt all of the opening
      but i didnt know anything against it, currently in a daily game.

    @thelegendaryphoenix6860 3 роки тому +3

    This is stronger than the fried liver and the lolli attack but it is burdened by the forced draw line

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  3 роки тому +2

      I could not agree more. It just depends on who you are playing I suppose. If you're in a tournament against someone rated much lower, the Traxler might not be the best because they might know the draw line. The decision then is up to the player. However, against someone higher, there's really nothing to lose.

  • @ΠαναγιώτηςΦρεντζάς

    5.Bxf7+ Ke7 6.Bc4! is more or less a refutation. Nothing that Black has tried seems to work against this (6.Bb3 and 6.Bd5 are more common but less clear).

    I personally would love to play this but I don't like to play e5 I find this is the only opening I could beat a titled player with because it is the strongest counter attack

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  3 роки тому +2

      Totally makes sense. I don't like playing e5 either, only this line. The Elephant Gambit can be fun at times but not super reliable against top tier competition.

    • @polychromaa
      @polychromaa 3 роки тому +1

      You definitely wouldn’t be able to beat a titles player with this. They would just play Bxf7 and Bb3. You might be able to defeat a player of similar strength with this maybe

    If they play d3 or d4 instead of Ng5 you won’t be able to get your traxler
