"As long as its awesome." It was! 🤗 Thanks for doing the Retrosoect version guys. I have this concert on Blu ray (a lot better visual quality btw), it's 3 hours of Epic-ness.
Next Epica song . .🤟 -Introspect + Monopoly on truth (Retrospect show) 2013 - Hunab-ku + Dance the fate - Facade of reality - Seif al din Live at paradiso 2006
The Retrospect show of Epica was their 10th anniversary concert, held at the Klokgebouw, Eindhoven, Netherlands in March 2013 and still to this day, the best live show I've ever attended.
This song is like a "Perfect Storm"!!! It starts nice and sunny like a morning sunrise, and then the storm clouds are starting to appear.....and BOOOM, instant chaos and mayhem ❤, there are some little breaks in that storm, but yeah...this songs message is what people need, like as the title of this song says : "Design Your Universe"!!! NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut ✌😎🤘.
Thanks guys for circling back to this live version. One of the earlier Epica songs I heard that helped make them one of my top 2 bands. I just love how much more of everything this version is. Love the big orchestral bass drum hits.
"So many people are full of hate While love and light are in their reach So many people will harm themselves But life can be so beautiful" Something people don't expect from grunt lines.
Yep, they sounded that good, at well over 2 hours into a 3 hour concert. Song #22 of 24. This is the 2013 concert that Simone was about 3 months pregnant. Sancta Terra with Floor, which you have done, is the song just before this, Next from EPICA? Well, next at Retrospect is Storm the Sorrow. Or try The Skeleton Key at Omega Alive.
You guys do just the best reactions, great job. The real star of this show has to be the engineer that had to mix all those instruments and voices! Metallica’s S&M concert was my gateway to Symphonic Metal. I was blessed by an Epica song suggestion by YT after watching it . But, Metallica’s S&M is not comparable to Epica’s Retrospect concert. Simply not in the same league. In S&M , the orchestra was kind of forced as an odd background to Metallica’s good yet repetitive music. In Retrospect it’s a different story from a different universe. A complex, creative epic metal composition is perfectly integrated and “synergized” with awesome orchestra and choir. 3 hours of pure epicness.
No leaf clover was composed with orchestra in mind, and it shows, but the rest yeah are just additional arrangements to already existent (great) thrash metal But this Retrospect is the crowned jewel, what a concert
Regarding the mixed voice. A vocal coach on youtube called Simone a "master of mixing". She is really great at it. 🙂 Another great song from this concert? It's sort of a hybrid between ballad and black metal: "Chasing the Dragon". Search for upload of this song by Jubran, which is from the Retrospect and also has English lyrics in it (you may need to switch them on).
I think I’m in the minority that agrees with you that you should listen to studio version before the live one. Being familiar with a song makes listening to it live for the first time so much better.
It's normally the best but for the sake of reactions is always more interesting to watch the live and having people do 2 reactions per song is not all that reasonable But in this case it was great
Don't listen to the whining of some fans. The version you lisntened to last time is fantastic. Epica is primarily enjoyed in studio versions. The live versions are a plus, sometimes they are better like in Consign to Oblision, other times not like in "Serenade of self destruction", not in the sense it is bad but missing something like a great section of male choir.
Glad you revisited this as the live version, always gives me chills. The whole concert is 3.5hrs long and is just "Epic"
one of my favorits songs forever .....love Epica
Simone simons has really smoothest transition voice from chest to head voice and that is too addicted to hear her voice. So lovely voice
"As long as its awesome." It was! 🤗

Wow thank you for taking the time to make a second reaction!
Thanks for taking the time to redo this to make your fans happy.

wow, it’s cool that you finally decided to check out the live version 👍 this is truly an epic spectacle, you should have seen it 😁

Here we go, guys! 🌀🌀🌀👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks for the second try!
Ariën Van Weesenbeek is a very under rated drummer making his kit sound much bigger than it really is
I mainly bought this album when it came out for the art work and this is my favorite song from that album :)
been there, best concert ever.
Hey guys, been enjoying your Epica journey, keep it up!
nice you did the live version as well.
Yep, they sounded that good, at well over 2 hours into a 3 hour concert. Song #22 of 24. This is the 2013 concert that Simone was about 3 months pregnant. Sancta Terra with Floor, which you have done, is the song just before this,

@s1mperadicator13 I didn't recommend Sancta terra. I SAID that they already did it., and that it was the song before this.
Why not the official video for Storm the Sorrow? That one is really cool. Simone's dirtiest filming 🙂
Can You check in the same show, introspect + monopoly on truth .. that song really is a Masterpiece...

Agreed. SM wasn't a great merge between symphony and rock. But "no leaf clover" was great.
No leaf clover was composed with orchestra in mind, and it shows, but the rest yeah are just additional arrangements to already existent (great) thrash metal
But this Retrospect is the crowned jewel, what a concert
simone was pregnate during this concert ,whitch makes her vocals more impressive .
And there is a double choir behind the orchestra...
And now the whole three hours retrospect venue please!
You guys should check it out the Code of Life Live at Exit Festival, it is such a different and awesome song.
Regarding the mixed voice. A vocal coach on youtube called Simone a "master of mixing". She is really great at it. 🙂
