Just gotta say, the irony in me saying "I haven't seen this band get a lot of hate" and seeing butthurt metalheads screaming "tHiS iSnT mEtAl" in the comments is not lost on me. 😂😂
The moment a band gets described any sort of gateway to metal, they get slandered by metal gatekeepers until the end of time. It's ridiculous. Everyone uses pop melodies and structures, isn't immune either.
@@TheNamesFathom Nah make them suffer fell off from where they were fr. From the aggressive fury of Neverbloom to modern radio friendly octane fueled buttcore, downgrade of the fukin century. For your comparison though, Spiritbox isn't nearly as heavy as early make them suffer, maybe comparable to their modern era sure but that's meh.
Took them long enough to figure out he could sing. It’s like they found him in a target or something and didn’t realize he played in another band for 14 years
The thing i love most about Spiritbox is their restraint. Everyone knows that every member of this band can shred their instrument of choice, but they play to serve the song, and it just sounds great
Exactly. I feel like a lot of bands would have added a brutal section somewhere in this song just for juxtaposition’s sake. I love that they upped the intensity throughout the entire song, but never went so far as to ruin the song. Absolutely brilliant package with the music video.
Great reaction - so much better watching reactions from music lovers and celebrators versus haters. You have great musical understanding while also enjoying the variety Spiritbox does which is great.
I've probably posted this on all reactions for this song but shoutout to Versa Films for another incredible vid. This is their 7th? vid with Spiritbox and its beautiful. Also shoutout to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where this vid was shot 🇨🇦 Love seeing epic shit like this come out of my province ❤
Tank, have you heard Spiritbox's performance of Circle With Me from Louder than Life where Tati surprise-guested? The video with remastered audio is AMAZING, & it was amazing to experience live
@@TankTheTech They had Sam from Architects on for a song too! I dont remember which one specifically. I think during their set they had three or four different artists with them on stage. It was awesome to see! You should try to make it out to LTL! We would love to see you there!
With every new release, I love this band more and more. At first, I didn't get the hype at all but it is starting to grow on me and it happens fast 🤟🏼🤗🍺
Ever since I heard the debut albums of Periphery, Monuments, and Tesseract, I've been jamming to more bands like them and Spiritbox box for a while now. I still like my 2000's metalcore, melo-death, powermetal, and nu-metal bands. Courtney's voice is so good!
This song randomly played when I was at work listening to a “new in rock” playlist. It introduced me to Spiritbox to the point where I listened to everything else of theirs and I am now a HUGE fan.
oh yeah this song transports me every time i hear it and it's my first metal song. so you're definitely right about feeling inspired to dip my toes in and experiment with more music.
Absolutely love this band. Have been following since Eternal Blue had just released so quite late to the party, but they completely blew me away when I saw them live which has quickly put them to the top of my list. Cannot wait to hear the new album.
I could not stop listening to this song once it came out. I’m stoked for this album. It’s so hard to have back to back banger albums. Eternal blue, and the EP are some of my most listened to albums I have. I can almost guarantee this album will be added to that list in my repertoire.
Cannot disagree. Spiritbox is part of the future of metal. They keeps getting better and better each year. Would not put them in my top 10 yet but at this rate they will be there soon. I'll put them in the same category as Ad Infinitum and Beyond the Black where this is the future of metal. Spiritbox is part of the foundation of what our kids will enjoy and where metal will be in 5 to 10 years.
I found out Spiritbox are supporting Linkin park at Wembley stadium next year.. Which is pretty nuts, I saw them play at the Roundhouse in Camden a while ago and that was so much fun. Brand of sacrifice supported them, who now are going to support Fit for a king and Motionless in white next year. So awesome.
Tank, my good man, I love to hear you break down music. I have loved music my whole life but I do not understand it very well. Since you (and people like Chase C./Charismatic Voice) have come along, you help me understand the WHY of it all to me. Music makes more sense now, I have learned so much from you and really appreciate you. :) Much love!
The production on this is great. They deserve all the success and are genuinely some of the best people ive ever met. Also their pizza colab they did with Prince Street was amazing
I just saw the caption of this video and I 100% agree, I’m kinda eh on the new song but it’s absolutely a perfect gateway into the band’s catalog. Plus Josh Gilbert is back in full force and I love that.
In the last 10 years the bands in the metal scene that have been killing it consistently and blowing up are Sleeptoken, Slaughter To Prevail, Left To Suffer, Jinjer, and Spiritbox. At least in my opinion.
I learned of spiritbox because of the collab with Meg Thee Stallion. Love that song. I thought to myself damn this is like rap metal. Like metal as hell I was so pleasantly surprised
Now that they have released three singles, I am loving that they are introducing more complex rhythmic stuff into their music, particularly with the guitars. It makes the music feel so much more unique even if it is a sound that they have previously done.
Been a while since I popped into a tank vid. I’ve missed this. Amazing vocals amazing instrumentals, Spiritbox is quickly becoming one of my go tos. Keep up the good work Tank!
I did not know until this song that their bass player Josh has an incredible voice as well! And yes, Spiritbox was my re-entry band into heavy vocals in 2020.
this song is a complete vibe. the added high harmonies from Josh on the chorus is just the icing on the top of a band that didn't think could get any better. perfection
Tank you said, and the original Circle With Me video that there would be a huge anthem moment when she sings, cut down the altar at the beginning. There are so many video clips of that exact same thing from the crowd and on stage of thousands of people screaming the opening to that song . You good sir are a prophet lol
I really liked this song. I love listening to Eternal Blue as well, and this points that the new album might have a similar atmosphere. I think you hit the nail on the head when you talked about how they nail the groove with their music. Whether it’s a heavy or softer track, it has a groove that makes it great to listen to.
That somewhat ethereal vocal at the start that made you go 'ooh,' reminded me of what the Front Line Assembly lads did when they had their Delerium hats on to Kristy Thirsk and the like. Beyond that, I was getting strong Sleep Token vibes, especially 'The Summoning.'
I think think Josh's voice along with Courtney's works fantastic fun fact also in mid October me and a friend who isn't particularly in the metal scene went to go see Jinjer and he absolutely love them! and I introduced him to Spiritbox and he's been slowly getting in to them :D
They definitely get a lot less hate than other bands, because they are so likable to everyone, are overly cautious with media, and just make stellar music where anyone can find some pieces they like. Really just the gatekeepers that hate and its so nitpicky and irrelevant. Good music speaks for itself, this band is controlled enough to not get weird looks like Sleep Token but varied enough to not get labeled as cookie cutter metalcore band. I love the range though, Mike and Courtney do not miss.
Been a fan ever since their Iwrestledabearonce days! I’m loving this new era of female lead metal bands! Spiritbox and Not Enough Space are at the top of it for me!
Love the song. I also like their less scream-y songs sometimes. I also love Josh's vocals being layered in there (if you have a Josh Gilbert in your band, you might as well use him). Also RIP to their original bass player Bill Crook. He died in July.
They’re evolving like In This Moment, but hopefully they don’t stray too far from what made them popular to begin with. I can’t even get through an ITM album anymore.
I apologize Spiritbox, I wasn't familiar with your game. This song is fucking awesome. I love how it grooves, has some real interesting things going on, but it's understated. Very impressive and I'm now a fan.
I'm into the most filthy, hardcore shit you can imagine. Spiritbox is the ONLY band that I can enjoy both the bridge of "hardcore" and beautiful music like this. Everything else is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Next month in Mexico we'll have a big concert with Thrown, The Plot In You, Polaris, Spiritbox as part of Bring Me The Horizon tour. Spiritbox will be the last band before BMTH and they have been delivering a lot recently. I'm really pumped to see all those bands live, I'm mainly most excited for Spiritbox and BMTH.
Just gotta say, the irony in me saying "I haven't seen this band get a lot of hate" and seeing butthurt metalheads screaming "tHiS iSnT mEtAl" in the comments is not lost on me. 😂😂

If Spiritbox becomes Courtney and Josh singing the shit out of songs, I'm all for it.
if they end up doing something similar to make them suffer I will lose my shit

Josh Gilbert singing harmonies is everything we fucking hoped we'd get when he joined the band.
Can we just talk about how THATS JOSH FUCKING GILBERT SINGING AGAIN
I was waiting for him to mention that 😭
I've been waiting for him to finally start singing!!! One of my favorite backing vocalists...
Super stoked about it! I was worried with Courtney doing both clean and harsh vocals that he would never feature in the songs.
It is truly special, I hope we get more of them together
As a die hard ol skool AILD fan I approve!
Josh's additional vocals just take this song to the next level, love it.
Yes icing on the cake
100%
As much as I love to see him have success in Spiritbox, he is one of my favourite vocalist, I wish he would sing more ahah
Took them long enough to figure out he could sing. It’s like they found him in a target or something and didn’t realize he played in another band for 14 years
@5fingerdpunchfan originally all he wanted to do is play and not really do vocals or be part of writing. Guess he changed his mind
The thing i love most about Spiritbox is their restraint. Everyone knows that every member of this band can shred their instrument of choice, but they play to serve the song, and it just sounds great

Absolutely brilliant package with the music video.
So happy they they are finally taking advantage of Josh's vocal talents. Courtney and Josh combining together vocally is a so powerful.
Very "Blessed Be"
and perennial
this track gives me singles collection vibes and I looove it

I thought you’d hear “there she goes; there she goes again” … great reaction!
Same. Lol
I racked my brain trying to figure out where that melody came from and I thought of it randomly at work 😂
Yup same here haha
Sounds like a good song to use a treadmill to!
Omg, came to find this comment🤣
So happy that after all their success they could finally afford to buy Josh a mic to do vocals 😂
I was not expecting a comment like this but this made my day 😂

They shot this in Moose Juice?! That's incredible! Now its cool for Spiritbox and the Tunnels. 😊

Melissa Bonny and Ad Infinitum are doing similar to this, smooth vocals and great melody over chunky groove
