Hold on... Blackfield is permanating.
There's a powerful contrast between this light sound and almost tragical message behind the lyrics & story. Great work!
Steven Wilson definitely didn't mix this record.
Listen to ‘Cloudy Now’ again. This mix is just as distracting to me as that was all those years ago. Not ideal regardless.
Aviv Gefen did!
Let us know if you still feel the same after hearing The Future Bites (assuming you have).
Me: hoping for new Blackfield music for years
2020: Here you go!
2020 will always be remembered for every wrong reason.
Thank you so much from bellingham to Lebanon and back love love love and hope faith in something lets do this.
I found your music last year, and has taken so much importance for me, your songs have been a huge support through these hard times.
It's not a bad song, but it don't feels like Blackfield
Don't sugar coat it.
Same feeling here, is like listening Coldplay.
@@PrincessAirin Coldplay does better mixing tho
@@christoph_fer LOL
@@NoNo-ro9gx The mix/sound quality of this track is so bad that I thought my Spotify Premium subscription was over and maybe that's why the audio quality was low.
Video ok, but is it really Blackfield ? :-(
Blackfield's gone.... :(
lol true
Legend.
I wish Aviv would release his solo stuff under his own name.
he actually originally did songs on his own in Hebrew before this
Great Great video
Read a lot of comments on social media from disappointed SW fans and came in with low expectations. My favorite stuff is Porcupine Tree, the more depressing the better. If you take this song for what it is and don’t prejudge it’s good for what it is. A summer jam pop song that sounds happy but is somewhat dark. Haven’t seen anyone really mention the video and message presented but I appreciate him always expressing his feelings about the conflicts in that part of the world. Don’t be a prog snob and keep an open mind and you might find some value in things outside the tiny preference box you’ve encased yourself in. This very much could have been a 2012 kpop song by Big Bang. I’m not ashamed to admit I like that.
Good take. Open mind. I find it to be engaging and catchy in a very simple way.
I agree. Maybe for those who are not familiar with the context it's just not so easy to understand this message. Imo, this pop/happy sound makes this song even darker
Funny how I'm liking this song more the more I'm understanding the album as a whole.
This is a good catchy popsong with a lot of thoughts behind it , i like it a lot , thumbs up from Sweden :)
Just found out that UA-cam suggestions are way better than Spotify
definitely this Wilson style of making music, always diffrent than before
At last someone saying how it is,has anyone heard No Man love you to bits, music changes
@@petersmith5793 change is not a good thing per se.
🕊🙏🕊
Bravo 👏 the imagery was all powerful. The ending especially. Take care and bless you and yours
I LOVE YOU AVIV!💞
😅
WOWWWWW!!! ❤️❤️🏆❤️❤️
Having been a fan from the first Blackfield album and having read the negative comments below I was really worried about clicking 'play' to hear the first new Blackfield music since 'V'. However, on first play I'm really loving this track, it's catchy, enjoyable, has the classic Blackfield/Aviv Geffen sound and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I'm also excited to hear a possible live event in the UK as early as October 2020? Post lockdown so soon? That would be amazing if at all possible!
Another one bites the dust...
this song should be called Steven Wilson is gone 😂 or Wilson’s gone 🙊
Wilson!!!!
@@TheMalcolm50 Hahahahahahahahah nice joke, he's cast away!
🤣🤣🤣
So hard to swallow. I understand that times are changing and bands and musical projects in general have also the right to change direction and do whatever they want in the end. I also understand that making a record like Blackfield I or Blackfield II is just imposible if you're not in that "frecuency". Sadly for myself, I can't get anything from this song.
The problem with these kinds of bands is that its fans don't seem to be able to evolve along with them and let them try something new. This song is awesome, melancholic but happy. If I want depressive Blackfield I can always go back to I or II.
Maybe I was too hyped once I found out new album is on the way, but this was cold shower that did not refreshed me. Will give a listen to the whole album once out, but not feeling it right now at all. I would never guess this suppose to be Blackfield if listening blindfolded...
I like the fresh sound this version , it doesn feel like the old blackfield but we living times changing
Feel steven isn't doing much on this one?
muy bueno!!! saludos desde Chile
Blackfield's gone :(
Bardzo się cieszę Blackfield... Przypomina o sobie.... Świetny utwór..... 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 Czekam na premierę......
Amzing song
It sounds like PHOENIX
Entertaiment
Well I am really enjoying the new album.
Imo it’s not blackfield without SW and Aviv working together.
I love it. So nice:))
Blackfield - it's time to say goodbye and quit
Ouch wasn't expecting that... :(
When will you be back to NYC?
Greetings from himalyas... cheers... amazing...\m/...
" I hope you understand
I'm the one who's left behind"
Meravigliosi❤️
I've been a Blackfield fan since day 1. I love all their albums and I don't think I dislike a single track. Blackfield has always been part pop (songs like Oxygen, Jupiter, Lonely Soul), however the songs were always produced in an old school way for the most part, getting organic sounds and letting the instruments breathe. This has the overly glossy, synthetic and quantized modern production that I abhor (it even has what sounds like a drum machine in the first part).
Blackfield is first and foremost a ROCK band (if you've seen them live you know this), but this production completely sucks the life out of the music. Didn't like it on my first listen. But on second listen, Aviv's great melodies are still there, just buried in the production. I hope the rest of the album isn't produced this way, but I will still be a day one buyer.
Such a nice way to put it. :) A shame I hadn't seen this comment until now.
Wow Azan and Church bell at the beginning
It sound like Blackfield IV, seems SW has not been involved too much.
I want falafel with pita and hummus, and french fries/ or some Indian food.... yum!
Blackfield is also Aviv geffens project.... What's wrong.... I love Steven wilsons project today future bites... .... What's wrong.... Two partners in crime... 😎😎
❤️❤️❤️
The song is not bad. But this is not Blackfield.
What is this??? A 12 year boy wrote his first song with his Casio Keyboard from the 80ties.
I thought 2020 can't get any worse :D
I think it's still the Blackfield style, but of course we are waiting for more Stefan Wilsonowski.
spotify ?
Good luck
❤aviv❤
Your pain (song name) made best moments in my life, from 🇮🇷
yes, it's amazing
❤️
I'll admit that first and second listening were kinda strange. But after a while, I think is a good tune, not what I expected but far from being bad. Looking forward to hear the whole album, anyway. Aviv is great now and then
That was awesome!!!!
Summer's Gone is Steven Wilson bringing his electronic vibes to Blackfield's table ..
@C David It's just a joke Cheer up :D
C David Oh we can tell lol
I know a lot of people are hating on this now like they did Permanating, but I think it's pretty good.
Not my favorite Aviv-centered song of Blackfield, but still reminiscent of his solo albums. I think people frequently forget that this is just as much Aviv's band as Steven's band.
I'm expecting this to have a similar result as To the Bone did, where people who listen to one or two genres get pissy about one of the few poppier songs that's released as the lead single and act like the idea behind the progressive scene originally was constantly changing your sound and trying things others aren't like bands like Yes, Gentle Giant, Rush, and Genesis did throughout their entire careers. Then those complainers don't listen to the album even after everyone realizes it's a phenomenal album.
Where is steven wilson?
In chorus ;)
YMHROCK, white people are no longer in vogue.
Wilson y Aviv. Que carajo les está pasando?
Haha no sé, no sé esto es mucho.. 💔💔💔💔
Y no-man Love you to bits
Nice Coldplay song..oh wait
Love Aviv, I wish he'd do another solo album. But this isn't Blackfield.
Loving this! Been on repeat all day. Looking forward to Blackfield VI!
Comeback😍
And a terrible one
This song reminds me "Here is the News" from ELO
why did you call 'blackfield' instead of aviv geffen?
To see the complete album ... for the moment nothing very convincing :(
Blackfield is not gone. Summer's gone. I Think this is a beautiful addition to the Blackfield discography... and not so different if you give it a few listens. Beautiful, I say! I hope for another amazing album. :)
Used to be a great band.
Blackfield have already died after B2
Oh god, what is this
I find hard listening to this after my favourite Blackfield`s album wich is Balckfield V. Songs like Life is an Ocean or How Was Your Ride have nothing to do with this. Let`s be honest, Aviv wrote almost the entire Blackfield V album. We know he`s a genious. But this is not cool. You don`t need to use Blackfield`s name to produce your own music. Hope Steve forgives Aviv after listening to this and wants to work again with him.
Great song. Love it. :D
What what?? Whaaat? Is this Blackfield??😞
Loving the contrast between lyrics/video and music. So damn cool. Aviv did an amazing job 🖤
O...kay?
Prior to hearing the song, I heard lots of complaints about it being disco, but what I hear was the usual (in a good way) Blackfield blend of optimism and melancholy, with just a bit more studio "sheen" than usual. Not one of my favorites, but good, and whets the appetite for the full album.
I like the song... maybe more aviv like, but well aviv ist blackfield like 90%
Are those fireworks or actual military rockets exploding in the end of this video?
Lighting bomb, they fire them from a special canon and they come down with a parachute, they are harmless but they use them in search and rescue missions or when they try to find terrorists
Wow!
Have to say I like the song, seems many don't though.
Just out of curiosity, not that this is bad, but I wonder if they'll ever go back to the sound of the first two albums. Liam Gallagher is currently doing what Blackfield used to do. :)
Chris Martin looks different
Just as sad as when Tom Hanks lost Wilson!
Fan of the band but this piece is bleh, boring, repetitive. Very weak, this is disappointing. Turns out 2020 sucks all around.
Summer is gone and Blackfield too :(
OMG
Gotta be honest, this song is kinda trash.
I agree. Its trash. The mix also sucks. The drums are way below. And the hihats kinda annoying. Not even gonna talk about the snare
For me it's bad because of Aviv Geffen, I don't like his voice. I think it would be better with Steven Wilson's voice instead.
They wanted to be radio friendly pop but not a very good one.
Just look at the profile picture on the channel it's Geffen's face, and it's just this video on it so pretty much this is just the typical Geffen ego without Wilson people.
Too poppy
the mix sucks a lot
A bit overprocessed, especially the vocals...makes it hard to listen to without getting earache
"a bit"? They compressed the living shit out of it. Sounds absolutely horrible. Whoever mixed it, should learn the basics again, fucked up big time.
