On rewatch Merle has easily become my favorite in the show. He is the perfect mixture of Negan, Daryl, and Abraham when it comes to brutality, one-liners, and entertainment. Sucks he was killed off so early

For me I quit after Carl died, I watched season 9 for Rick and parts of 10 but I couldn’t get over Coral’s death he was my favorite character out of the entire series. I’m the type of fan to really grow close to fictional characters on a extreme level, and so when Coral died I cried for at least a month and couldn’t even think about him without crying and I stopped watching for two years. I took his death pretty hard I still haven’t watched the show further than season 9 😅 loved your ranking of the characters and I respect you giving t dog the credit he deserves
I feel that, I defo grow close to some fictional characters too, like it hurts when Anakin be turning to the dark side no matter how much I watch revenge of the Sith 😞 but I watched up until all of season 9 with proper attention but then I watched 10 on the side but I couldn’t bare much of 11. A lot of people would be surprised I did that too 😭 I would have liked to have seen an alternate story line to do with Andrea being like how she was in the comics. Idk why but I liked Tara to start off with a lot and then as the show went on I just thought she got more and more annoying. Also cause as a kid I just watched seasons 1-3 over and over and over and over waiting for s4 to drop, I got used to the first squad so much to the point no matter who they were, their death made me sad.

13:23 theres a very good theory(I think it might actually just be true) about siddiq being a whisperer sent to spy on Alexandria. The next season when he’s killed off it’s by a someone who we eventually learn was a whisperer who infiltrated the hilltop. Him and siddiq always acted strange around each other especially before the murder. I don’t really know what to think of it.
Edit: also chandler Riggs didn’t want to leave the show. He had planned his life around it and wanted to see it through. It seems like he was killed off for turning 18 and I can only assume wanted a paycheque closer to other leads rather than a child actor. The walking dead has also kinda gone complete off the rails since his death heading towards the new TWD Universe. Personally would’ve preferred to see the story follow through and end with Carl as the lead

The vast majority of new characters that gets intruduced after Rick and his people reach Alexandria is just meh/ok. When I think about it. It is insane how many just meh/ok/or down right annoying people there are in The Walking Dead post Alexandria, despite The Walking Dead being one of my favorite shows of all time

Maybe she got better as the seasons went on but by that point I had no interest in them so I just skipped past. Only going off what I felt and saw
