This is a true example of don’t give up, even though this didn’t go as planned, I was still able to achieve some cool effects!

My paints are mixed with my pouring medium recipe: 4 c. Floetrol, 1 c. Elmer's Glue All, 1/2 c. Liquitex Pouring Medium, and 1/4 c. water.
I’m grateful to see someone post something where things are just not working out as planned and the resiliency to problem solve and try different methods. It turned out beautifully. Well done on so many levels.

Paint will always go to whichever the drier surface is (which is why paint transfers from a brush etc. to a dry canvas, but if you keep dabbing, eventually you'll pick paint back up off the canvas because the brush becomes drier than the canvas)

There is a more terrible artist in the world than me, and that person is not an infant (no offence infants). I LOVED how you turned around this "hot mess" (your words, not mine) into something that is reasonably presentable, and persevered with challenging moments! Can I say, I am less intimidated watching this video than the curly haired man on PBS from the 1980's. He was good, but this inspires me to continue to power through my "hot mess" moments as well.

I was just curious what other kinds of silicone could you use to get that effect?
When I'm doing liquid acrylic and glazes I like to use ink as well... It has a different viscosity, very fluid.

I have bought several painted on canvas's at thrift stores because I knew I could paint over them and have great texture. My favorite turned out to be a mistake, back when pastels were the rage, I was going to paint a subject that just looked horrible, frustrated I took a cloth and started
wiping the paint off...the more I wiped it, the more I liked it. I put it on a large wall in my living room, when my sister visited the next time she
asked about it, when I told her the story she was amazed at how beautiful it had turned out. Nothing is perfect, and if you create something you love, just go with it.

I did one very similar to this and I had the same problems at first. I found that it was the addition of to much white paint on my canvas. I also realized I didn’t have to push the balloon hard onto the canvas. The lighter the touch, the better. BUT, with that being said,,,,, this turned out to be a really really pretty ‘mistake’ as you put it.😊. Thanks for sharing. LOVE IT 💞💞💞

The balloon is acting as a vaccum due to the negative air pressure volume compared to the paint density. The paint is less dense than the weight of the air pressure in your balloon. You need to let air out of the balloon to stop picking up paint. Or have thicker paint with the size of your balloon. For the effect you desired to work. That would have problem solved it. You could use an item with no empty volume or negative pressure (geometry). Ie: a solid painting tool. Great video. I loved the canvas art. Keep up the great Oops. 👍🖖

I've been looking for a new form of Art to learn( I usually make things out of fibers, knitting, crocheting, tatting, etc, and have always wanted to do something with paints. Very pretty and thanks for not stopping when it wasn't working out as expected.. Love the lesson on how things don't always go as planned. Again, thanks for the inspiration, God bless!
