THE BEST LIGHTING CHANNEL IS BACK!! I used to watch your videos when I was just a guy in high school... Now I'm in the production industry, in part because of thes videos!
Dude!!! You don’t know how excited I am to see you are back. Would absolutely love to hear how MA3 is doing for you! I know some of your last content was you beginning to take it on the road
last time you posted I was working part time in highschool, now I work fulltime and in my free time volunteer with amature theatres and still suggest your channel to aspiring programmers and LDs to learn about programming, glad to see you back but even if this is your last video your impact on the aspiring gen of LDs and programmers is imense, dont ever forget that you inspired so many and helped us realise that our passion can become a career,I know for me and a number of my collegues your videos were the reason we started properly viewing lx as a career path, and I will always apreciate and thank you for for that gift
STOKED that you are back! I took your advice and learnt something new and valuable during covid: I got a bachelors in sound-engineering and have since started a small event-company that does full productions! You are partly responsible for my choice of career hahaha! Looking forward to more videos!
Oh Brother i did alot of mapping in Resolume for these kinda bars. If u are able too, u can try too import a screenshot of ur Stageview and use it as Background in the Advanced Output. Than u just put over a Moving line, so you get the orientation right. This makes Mapping these way easier!
AFTER ALL OF THIS TIMEEEEE! Thanks for inspiring me to delve deeper into stage lighting, only found your channel during your absence but I’ve been trying to build up experience to make a career out of it!
Though I absolutely cannot stand EDM music I have long argued some of the best programmers work exclusively in that genre of music and productions. Christian, you further prove that point. Also although I'm a hard-core Avolite console/platform guy I have watched and learned from your video tutorials for many years now. I appreciate your skills and effort in passing along extremely useful information on the use of GMA2 and GMA3. Thank you, Christian. Continued success my friend.
I rewatched the video today and it is as exciting, epic, insane and fun to watch . If I had to choose 1 UA-cam channel for the rest of my life, it would definitely be this one. Thank you for bringing me all this inspiration.
This is awesome that you're back! Thanks to you I now have my own grandma2 light on my desk at home! Have to say these videos have taught me a lot and gave me the confidence to take the plunge and pursue this as a career! So thank you so much!
Thank you for this video, and it's so great to see you back. I want to thank you for all of your other videos as well. They helped me feel confident enough to quit from my past career that I absolutely dreaded. I'm just over a year into being a lighting tech, and it still blows me away that I'm excited to go to work every day. All of the advice that you gave in your videos on how to grow yourself as a tech, board op, and LD has granted me success in becoming a well oiled cog in the machine that is show biz. Still learning every day, and my next goal is getting the confidence to finally accept a board op gig. Lastly, I'm happy that you took the time to be away from youtube and socials for a while. I quit all social media except for youtube and discord, so I really respect your decision to focus on yourself.
Last time you posted I had just gotten my first full time house LD gig, now, I’m about to head out on my first tour. Thank you for igniting the fire in me to learn MA back in 2017, you’re a legend 🙏
OMG OMG i was only looking through old videos yesterday!! hoping you would return!!! please say this is going to be a regular thing!! so exciting :D 👍👍
SO stoked to see this, you're a brilliant and inspiring man, Christian! Thanks for sharing with us, as always. Hope you're doing well, can't wait for the future uploads.
I know nothing of your industry besides being mesmerized by visuals at concerts and festivals. It's fascinating to see how it's all done. Also nice shoutout to Janet airlines :D
HES BACK, I'm so ready to get floods of motivation to create things again. Since other people were doing it, since the last upload I got a full time job working at a venue as a Lighting Designer / Video person, I bought my first console (an Avolites T3), and flew to Egypt to work a Documentary (still don't know how that happened).
Welcome back man. I saw the Facebook post and completly understand the situation. Glad to hear you got things in place to help you be better. Looking forward to the new things to come.
since your last video I've made the jump into the industry full time and I owe a LOT to you inspiring me. Though I shifted away from lighting into LED/Video I'm still extremely excited to have you back on yt. Thanks for the inspiration, hope I get to work alongside you soon.
So glad, you are back! When I started to watch your channel, I got on a sidequest to operate the lights at every party I go to*. Now I'm about to sign the contract for a part time job to earn some extra on the weekends, doing the thing I love as LJ in a proper techno club nearby. Thank you so much for all the experience you shared with us. So excited for you coming back to YT! 🥳 *University town in germany. Lots and lots of small techno collectives that come and go. They don't really have LDs/LJs.
Christian an artist I mix opened for LTC at Red Rocks and you very graciously did lights for us because you know his crew. It was a huge pleasure to meet you and mix a show you were busking, that was a day and lightshow I’ll never forget! Happy you’re back on UA-cam
Sooooo happy you’re back! I hoped on GrandMA3 for the first time in January and immediately came to your channel to see if you had any content on it. Keep the videos coming, you’re a big inspiration
Good to see you again. 13:34 ProTip: In Resolume you can actually import a reference image when mapping the advanced output, so you can use a plot view from Capture or VectorWorks instead of eyeballing it.
Holy Crap, Its great to see you back Chris, i have missed your videos alot, you were one of the only lighting related youtubers that brought me joy, continue to be a legend.
Kind of depends on what you’re into. Personally I was a lighting designer at my Home venue and was waiting to graduate from college before moving on so a month after I graduated I started sending dozens of emails and applying to every position out there until one caught on. I’ve been on the road for almost 8 months straight with no brakes, so definitely be careful before you say yes to anything.
@@blakeluman5687 Thanks bro. I’m a senior in hs now designing lights at my church a few times a month. We have a good sized set with moving spots and washes. I have some connections into the industry but not for LD. What sort of company are you working with? Are you actually running lights or are you more in the setup and tear down.
Hey Christian! It's so nice to see how you are creating workflows with MA3. I guess a lot of people would be interested to see a rundown of your Reaper-Midi-Notes to MA cues. Any plans on explaining this in the future? Looking forward to your new content! All the best from Cologne 🙂
The legend has returned!! LETS GOO!!!!

I dig the sceptron design. Might run a little experiment, and use a projector to mount a similar rig for fun.
