- Ah yes! The vlog archives. I thought it would be fun to dig through my gig folders to find videos that never made it all the way to UA-cam. In this episode, we were only two weeks into our tour with Louis The Child in 2019. Sure is strange to think that we should all be out on tour right now again.

The programming on this is brilliant, nice work! The drop after the build up at 9:55 is one of those moments that gives you goosebumps and a massive grin, where everything just works perfectly together! Awesome!

If you work in production this is something you try to do all the time (fit the given gear in as little elevator trips as possible) and it's usually noteworthy.

From the archives? Nah, this seems like the standard time between filming and release after you find time to edit 😁! Seriously though, thanks for keeping up with the amazing content during these times.

@@christianjackson I work in theatre myself, so know what it's like when work gets busy and you don't stop for months at a time... But seriously, thanks for the amazing content, and please don't ever feel pressured to push it out. We all need breaks, and to spend time on things outside of our line of work - especially in showbiz where it can be all consuming.

I love your videos for a multitude of reasons, but my favorite part about your career/UA-cam as a whole is how you got here. Re-watching your first posts until now motivates me so much dude. Starting from your garage doing small gigs to being the lead LD for big artists, all by putting in the grind, working smart, and following your passion intelligently. I’m super glad you’ve documented your way to the top because it motivates me to put in work everyday towards my passion, but most of all it’s proof that you can have careers that other people don’t see as a plausible. Big inspiration 🙏🏼

😭 I miss live shows the creation of entertainment no mater how small or big the job of making it happen will always have an awe factor for me much like a small kiddo on Christmas opening the presents the anticipation and excitement washing over you the energy from the crowd .even the little hang ups like power issues . Vehicle troubles late arrival and crunch times to setup on time . Hats off to you
should have done a video on how we fit a decent amount of that rig on the middle stage in the rave, that was an awesome day, happy to work it!

So for anyone curious 9:30, Anthem, and Merriweather Post Pavillion are all under the same independent production umbrella of I.M.P. its a gorgeous venue though.

How many universes is the touring rig?

To be clear: A "timecoded show" means basically the whole thing is prerecorded, right? Hit "play" at the start and everyone (LD, musicians, etc) gets to dance around for the duration of the show. Essentially nothing is live (apart from the dancing around and/or cupcakes)?
Dr Tune no not really, it will mean that they will play to metronome at least - so there is no room for change of song length etc. However there are backing tracks and stuff here but they’re still playing their instruments on stage live, as for the LD there might be things in the set which they trigger manually however the majority is as you say ‘pre-recorded’, however time coding a show doesn’t make you a ‘cheat’ since you have to go from venue to venue adapting with different rigs and program it all to fit every single night - arguably it’s harder than non time coding if your touring without a full package
*Taps head* it’s easy to fit FOH in an elevator when its just a laptop and a wing.

Why/how is capture faster patching than MA?
You have to do it twice in MA. You have to do the patch first then you have to go arrange it all in 3D. You can do both simultaneously in capture and then you have a capture file to pre viz with to boot.

venues do be fully locked up. How tf you get inside when touring. Then you have to wait for the venue manager to let you in grrrr
