How to Replace FZ6 Front Brake Rotors

In this video I will be showing you the process of removing old front brake rotors and installing new rotors on a 2007 Yamaha FZ6. My rotors had about 60,000km's on them and had worn down to 4.19" which was below the minimum thickness of 4.5mm.
Rotor to hub torque spec: 13 ft lbs
Rotor minimum thickness: 4.5mm
Front axel torque spec: 52 ft-lbs
Front axel pinch bolt torque spec: 17 ft-lbs
Front brake caliper to lower fork leg torque spec: 29 ft-lbs

After your last video I got a heart attack about my brake rotors. Luckily I’ve measured both of them 4.9mm at the front but... 4.1mm at the rear. I’ve also found excessive wear of the brake pads there, but I like to use rear brake in the last stage of soft and calm breaking before trafic lights.
What brake pads would you recommend? Are those sintered pads really that better? But how faster do rotors wear out? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've always gone with OEM pads for the FZ6 for simplicity sake. EBC makes good pads though. Brake pads are a complicated science, often you trade a gain in one area for a loss in another. You might get more bite with one pad but also more dust and wear at the same time. You don't get something for nothing. Rotors depend on your riding style but judging by my own experience I think rotors generally need changing around 50k km's. Good luck and I'm glad you caught the wear on your brakes when you did! 👍🏻
