- I never fish for Crappie with Live minnows anymore. It’s been years. Jigs only and there is one thing that make that work year round. When the fry hatch and it’s hot outside it’s very hard to get the Crappie to bite artificial bait. This works!!

I kayak fish in Texas as well. You need to get some UPF protected long pants. I wear ones from Columbia that have zip off legs that turn them into shorts. Might think it would be too hot but when sun doesn’t beat down on your legs you stay cooler just like wearing the long sleeve UPF shirt you have on. Can always put. your legs in the water as well with the pants on and when wet keep you cool.
I have some of those. I wear them down at the coast when I crab walk the kayak. Keeps me from getting stung by the jellyfish
Hey man I really enjoy the content. Do have any issues with putting the fish on a stringer during these hot days of summer? This is much easier than dealing with a cooler.
The fish are ok for a couple hours. After that, better to use Ice.

Dang, Those were some Slabs! I've been struggling to catch them here on my home lake, but finally started looking on trees yesterday and located a few. Think I might try that here in the next couple of days for sure!

Absolutely! I use a beer batter, fry up strips then throw them in the tacos
You need to calibrate your Minn kota(spot lock). It should only be a 3’ foot, not a 6’ radius. I hope that helps. Nice slabssss
