I recommend just starting the og fe4 at this point. It aged a tiny bit because it doesn't exactly directly teach you the mechanics (which doesn't help as it's fairly different compared to pretty much every other game in the franchise) and it can be a tad slow at times but it's still one of the best in the franchise to this day. There are rumors of a second Fire Emblem game for the Wii that ended up getting cancelled, supposedly it was going to combine elements of RTS. Fe6 got some banners because it take place after fe7 and some characters are the children of fe7 characters wich grant them a popularity in the west, Lilina for exemple is mentionned in Hector's ending and is present in the epilogue of the game. Even if many people don't know how is Lilina in FE6 they love her because she is Hector's daughter. We can see that most of the characters from fe6 that got alts are linked to characters from fe7 ( Saul and Juno's familly are an exeption).
Great video, I've been looking forward to this announcement for a while now. I think it can still be announced in September for an early 2025 release before Switch 2. Also what was Echos SOV's code name and why wasn't that Iron 16?
I believe it's coming too, but I don't agree that Sigurd had more Engage plot relevance than Lucina and Lyn considering how their introduction into the story went. I think those three are second to Marth and then there's everyone else (non DLC) beneath them.
I'm not sure why anyone would think a Genealogy remake is coming somewhat soon if its not going to be a year 1 title for the new Switch successor we know is coming next year. Genealogy's massive sprawling (for the snes) map and expansive more complex story was only possible by taking advantage of the snes' comparative strength to the nes. It would be a good graphical showcase to the "switch 2" if it has more consistent 30/60 fps, more consistent hd on handheld, or even possibly 4k display to have genealogy's massive maps rendered in extreme detail to feel like a proper representation of the country wide expanses they're meant to be
They’ll probably cut down the map sizes and create more. Also why would you have a remake as a launch title for a series known to debut mainline games 2-3 years after a console is released?
@@wildele9699 Why would you assume for no reason that they would cut down the map sizes when the most consistent trend in Fire Emblem remakes is their consistency with the original? Sigurd isn't that prominent in Engage he fits the role of being dragon mum's right hand and FE4 is the best selling FE game in Japan before FE awakening as such he gets a slightly elivated role. Lyn is with you for just as long as Sigurd as such we can also apply this argument to Lyn and talk all about the FE7 remake or maybe an awakening remake Lucina also has the same amount of time with the player, Lyn and Lucina also have a scene with Alear where they talk to them, all the emblems also have scenes where they are the focus, Sigurd's just seem more important because they are at the start of the game, and Dragon mum needs someone who isn't the playables to talk to. After release you add refines and alts and the obscure characters, you can also just put out banners of old characters when the remake drops and add upgrades to them, it's a mobile game, a virtual slot machne they can just add that kind of stuff. Engage's support system is most similar to FE6 with only the lord getting paired endings, since engage is a more in house title is more likely to share it's engine with a potential remake than three houses, especially if the potential remake is Iron 18 as it seems Engage was built on top of Iron 18, Engage's files [Everything all of it] are all listed as Iron 19 except for the project file that is listed as Iron 18, as such if iron 18 is not a scrapped project we can assume it will function very similar to Engage as Engage was almost certainly built on top of Iron 18, this is why the support system quirks stand out to me, why make it so only the lord can get paired endings when every other game with support since FE6 have paired endings for the whole cast, especially when the modern games seem intent on character relations and the system is well liked, if Iron 18 is an FE6 remake, especially if it's in a similar vain to echoes [A more faithful remake], this support system quirk makes sense. Playing engage with no reclass makes it feel very FE6-ish, this is my opinion/vibe so it's not a real argument but it adds to my belief. Roy is much more well known outside Japan than Sigurd or any FE4 character, FE6 Characters such as Bartre, Eliwood and Zephiel are also more recognizable as they appear in FE6 FE6 is tied directly to FE7 one of the best selling games of the "Old" games, and of the old games the best selling outside Japan, it just makes more sense from a business angle, of course we could just get an FE7 remake but with how much FE7 connects to FE6 it'd be weird to have FE7 remake without FE6 remake. If we just look at Japan Fe6 also sold the best of the Post-Kaga Pre-Awakening era titles as such it has the best record of success. We also know there is no reason to assume IS will do remakes in order FE 11 and 12 skipped Gaiden opting for FE 1 and 3 book 2 instead SOV was released so far after it's clear there where no plans to release it near FE 11/12, it could be the elusive Iron 13 but that is more likely the Wii RTS concept build that got scrapped, or a result of folding FE:BS into the official number system, either way we have no evidence an FE2 remake was planned at that time, as such using ordering as an argument isn't that strong. FE6 also has less objectionable content that would be hard to translate to a modern audience, while I personally do not believe this would stop an FE4 remake I do think it would make it less appealing for both IS and Nintendo when considering what game to remake, especially if they feel they need to make heavy changes to the games. We also have to consider if FE4's systems are deemed too outdated while again I do not hold this opinion I do think FE4 being so different in how it plays makes it less appealing to remake, People use three houses success as a reason to suspect an FE4 remake but I disagree it is the opposite, I very much doubt three houses fans would click with FE4's pawnshop system and lack of trading and limited unit customization, the base castle is also very different to the monastery, FE4 has a menu you look at DURING the chapter to prep units or use the pawn shop or forge, etc, the monastery is a full 3d space you run around in and do side activities BETWEEN chapters with lots of unimportant tasks, these are not the same and are incompatible monistairy style castles in FE4 would be a disaster for the game's pacing, these games are nothing alike, FE4 is a much different plot especially in Gen 2 where it's Marth's story with a few different details. [Also FE4's plot isn't that good, seriously how do we make fun of the agarthens or grima but not the Loptus cult] Further more we must consider if FE5 has an impact, looking at how IS has remade games it is not unlikely that if FE4 gets remade they'd want to remake FE5, or create an expectation to remake FE5, and FE5 is the poorest performing FE game as such they may not want to go through with remaking it, fearing lower sales, Echoes itself did not perform spectacularly as such I can only imagine the concern an FE5 remake could bring. Overall I just don't see a reason to so strongly believe FE4 remake is happening when we have so little evidence and what little evidence we do have points to much more towards an FE6 remake.
I know a remake would probably butcher and censor the absolute hell out of the story. Especially when localized. Can't say I'm too excited for a remake like everybody else is for some reason. I'd rather have a new game (preferably not another Engage catastrophe) than see an old one be brought back as a shell of itself.
I really don't want a FE 4 or 5 remaster. Don't get me wrong, those are great games, But, We been deprived of FE content for so long, I don't want the next FE to be a game we already know and played just with better graphics and minor changes
dude you don't already know. Those never got released outside Japan and don't make the excuse for fan translations, they do not count. Besides there is nothing wrong with getting remakes, in fact it's better than they do em than not. You wont get mainline fe games too soon from each other. Like there's a 3-4 year gap. So I'd say just be more open minded.
@@AegisEdge unless they heavily modify the story then yes, I already know because I already played it. I would enjoy much more a new game with new characters and plot, specially after so long. I dunno… if I look at Gaiden vs Echoes, I see more than enough differences and improvements to warrant a remake. The story won’t be entirely rewritten of course, but with a game that old, there is A LOT to improve on

[Also FE4's plot isn't that good, seriously how do we make fun of the agarthens or grima but not the Loptus cult]
Further more we must consider if FE5 has an impact, looking at how IS has remade games it is not unlikely that if FE4 gets remade they'd want to remake FE5, or create an expectation to remake FE5, and FE5 is the poorest performing FE game as such they may not want to go through with remaking it, fearing lower sales, Echoes itself did not perform spectacularly as such I can only imagine the concern an FE5 remake could bring.
Overall I just don't see a reason to so strongly believe FE4 remake is happening when we have so little evidence and what little evidence we do have points to much more towards an FE6 remake.

>three houses
>well writen
😂👌
I know a remake would probably butcher and censor the absolute hell out of the story. Especially when localized. Can't say I'm too excited for a remake like everybody else is for some reason. I'd rather have a new game (preferably not another Engage catastrophe) than see an old one be brought back as a shell of itself.
I recommend Unicorn Overlord, its strategy RPG published by Sega.
They will make a real fe/ fe remake when the gacha game stops being a crutch for them to leech off of

Keep coping
Awakening didn't "save" the series. It was just marketing, it's time to stop pretending the tellius games weren't horribly marketed.
First !
But if that means settling for something shit like engage, then in that case, slowing down and making the remakes first would be the better
@@gabrielbitencourt1879Since echoes had some story changes (adding new characters and a prologue) Then they’ll definitely change the plot a little
@@gabrielbitencourt1879 honestly this comment makes me hope they remake 1 and 3 again just so it's something we've seen already, lmao
I dunno… if I look at Gaiden vs Echoes, I see more than enough differences and improvements to warrant a remake. The story won’t be entirely rewritten of course, but with a game that old, there is A LOT to improve on
