I'd just like to thank America for the best TV shows during my childhood here in the UK. Shows such as, Knight Rider, Air Wolf, Street Hawk, Dukes of Hazard, A-Team, Battle Star Galactica and Buck Rogers - all these are great programmes and always will be...
I am from germany and I have to agree wholeheartedly ! American 80s pop culture had such a huge influence on the world and all those lucky enough to experience it. I think we'd all be very different persons today had it not been for that. so, let me join in on saying Thank You America, and keep up the great work !
K.I.T.T. is the coolest TV car, to me! Many of his "functions" are becoming practical in vehicles of today. Due to the TV show "Knight Rider," we've been allowed to dream the impossible, and make it possible. Thanks, for sharing this video!
I don't think there is possibly one single person on this planet that does not smile at the sight of KITT having fond memories of Knight Rider. It is just impossible to not have liked Knight Rider. It gives me personally always a warm and fuzzy feeling as heavy nostalgia kicks in anytime I come across anything to do with it. Awesome presentation Lou, greetings and much appreciation from germany !

I was crazy about this car when I was 5 years old - I am Egyptian I learned to read at such a young age so that I could read the translation in this series - I even learned to draw to draw this car - and now I am 41 years old. Just when I saw it I felt my happiness while I was a child and found myself making the sound that was coming from (kitt) with ted red light flashing :D

Knight rider came out the day after my 6th birthday back in 1982... 36 years later I finally have my own KITT car.... even thought it's only on the outside.....I believe I have the best of both worlds... KITT on the outside... classic 1982 Firebird on the inside.... with the 350 turbo.....
Its 4/14/2020 and I just happened to see this on my Recommended. Sometimes the UA-cam Algorithm does something RIGHT. I was in the middle of doing something and I couldn't stop watching this from the second I saw the thumbnail. Thank you for this!

WOW, this brought back some childhood memories. I used to be a devoted fan too. I had the Knight Rider lunch box and a couple books about the show. Long gone now sadly but not forgotten. Back in 1982, with the restyle of the Pontiac Firebird, I can remember people who owned the S/E editions that were painted black with the black alloyed wheels to mimic the KITT car. Computerized gizmos were starting to make the forefront for the younger generation and this car didn't disappoint. Nice to see people who appreciate the HISTORY and not just the car itself. Awesome video. Now let me go watch some Knight Rider reruns Lou!
I sat in this car when I was kid. My dad and I were at Universal Studios when I was a boy. I am 39 now. What great memories this brought back of waiting in line with my dad to sit in the car and talk with Kitt. The car was overlooking the water at the Universal Studios theme park. AWESOME!
Your best episode yet! I remember the Papa Gino's pizza delivery guy had a K.I.T.T. replica (but only on the outside) when I was growing up, so it was pretty damn awesome having Knight Rider show up for birthday parties and whatnot.
So good to see that and you did the history Fine. George B son ,B.B., , Used to pick me up in the Knight rider car. It is just a toggle switch in the compartment but the outside look was KITT. . This is right after the series ended many times go up to Mr.Bs Beautiful Encino home with my friend , B B. . I was enthralled. What I saw there in automotive. , Of course I used to go To stars and their cars museum in Hollywood when it was around, and the shoppe in Toluca, on Riverside dr., thanx, B.B. and RIP , Mr.B.😎
I was never a huge Knight Rider fan but what a fantastic video. It's always awesome to see folks so passionate about their hobbies and interests and this KITT car has found a great home! Great job fellas!

I got that model of kitt at 14:48 and built and painted it to the exact colors . I watched knight rider when it first came out and I was around 5 years old . I was like glued to the tv screen as a kid . Those were great memories as a kid .
Sayin I was there I can't believe they actually were 1hr episodes then the talking to your watch was the butt of jokes for years. And what we got now people talkin to watches. KITT I NEED YA BUDDY! ...sorry michael you have been laid off by the Knight corporation because of your driving record... multiple tickets for backing out of moving trailers u turns and reverse driving on divided highways torwards traffic... I also detect that we have been sued because our laser restraint system has killed everyone who tried to jump massive gaps...etc activating ejection seat

Hi Lou. Lovely looking car. I remember Knight Rider. It was an awesome T.V. show. I was more interested at the time in the car, than of the show itself.
Very nice of the family to intrust all the items to you to display with this car. I was not a fan of the show but lover the history and love the fact your preserving this car. It is a passion when you figure out how many hours are spent on the internet making calls trying to locate items. How fun. What a record of that tv show you have collected. Thank you. I would love to see this in person.
HI David Christensen, Glad you enjoy the details and enjoy history. One of my goals is to leave a historical legacy of the cars from the Care Takers who own and know the details of them, so I hope you enjoy more cars on this UA-cam Channel, Lou BTW - The other goal is to have FUN :-)

It's so strange I know where KITT's voice box is, but always had this impression it was on the center console. Mostly because David was always looking at the center console when talking to KITT. I'm kinda curious if I'm not alone in this😅
Yup, when I first watched the show as a 6-year old I thought the same thing. Only found out later the voicebox was a *lot* smaller than I thought it was, and placed above the steering wheel 😅

I remember my mom back in the mid-late '80's, she bought me a Knight Rider aluminum steel lunchbox for school which was cool next to my He-Man lunchbox she also bought for me. Growing up in the '80's, was good and i thank God for that Glory to God. I was hoping to see the Knight Rider lunchbox on the table with their memorabilia they had there. Cool Knight Rider K.I.T.T. review.

@@loucostabile Cool thanks. My dad owned a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula with a 350 Cu. inch engine back in the early '80's and a 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix G-Body. He was a Pontiac guy for sure, what was weird was he bought a 1978 or 1979 Plymouth Horizon back in the early '90's being that he likes Pontiac but gave that car up to his cousin and there is when he bought the 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix. Unfortunately bothe Grand Prix and the Firebird he had to get rid of due to his health issues. He really loved that Firebird for sure. Cool video.
I'm not a huge car guy, but yes, you are correct!! The button on the floor that you push with your left foot isn't a "dimmer switch", its actually how you turn the High-Beam Headlights on and off. I know this because my brother owned both a 1980 Chevy Camaro, as well as 1982 Pontiac Firebird, and both cars had that button for the Hi-Beams!!
The guy in this video that owns K.I.T.T. was also in a Jay Leno video with another version of K.I.T.T., because inside, (in the Jay Leno version), it had the one single TV screen-upgrade from the late 83 early 84 seasons. And....also the tyres are different here, the others were pure black. Also the number-plate/sorry "Licence Plate"..I'm UK lol, is also different in this particular video. This is the season 1 & 2 dash. In Leno's version its the 84/85/86 dash, so he must own 2 cars, but hasn't stated that here. What is stated is wrong, as this dash "WAS" used in seasons 1 & 2 as I and every other true Knight Rider fan had seen Hoff sat in it. When K.A.R.R. returned to take on K.I.T.T. again, both versions were used to show K.T.T.'s upgrades and the differences between the 2 cars. Here's the link to the other documentary-short..See if you notice anything else, and why they would change these for this video: ua-cam.com/video/3YKtQrYNKPg/v-deo.html
Just Sum Guy yes, thats what i notice. "Joe Huth" the taller guy, he has a stunt K.i.T.T. also. But his car was displayed at Universal with the season 4 nose.
Huge Knight Rider fan here. I became a huge Transam fan after the show and ended up owning 3 TA's because of the influence of the show. I watched every show when it was originally on air in the 80's. The first few season were great especially the very first with the solid light talk box and KITTS sound effects. They never brought that back. I wasn't to crazy when they changed KITT with the Super Pursuit mode and all the wings and flairs that popped out of KITT. What's funny with all the High Def Big screen tv's of today you can certainly pin point all the "errors" that you couldn't see in the SD tv's of the 80's. Especially my black and white set. like I can see the person behind the driver seat covered in a sheet driving KITT when it is in Auto Mode. I could see when the stunt car is being used because I can see a full standard steering wheel instead of the special one KITT had. Like the episode that you showed there with the flames on KITT. Look for it.I thought they could have did more with the episodes of KARR and Goliath. The way Goliath was destroyed with the grappling hook and going over the cliff. Blah. I never liked the grappling hook...LOL!! Very cool guys. When we get back to normal if ever hopefully you can do something in NJ I would love to check everything out.

the car is cool, the idea of this video is cool - but if you make videos - then first - learn to make them! Or hire someone who knows what he is doing - the video is a lot out of focus, it has stripes, so obviously the editor has never heard anything about interlace and... yeah. Do not create bad videos - this car deserves a good video! But this video is quite badly done... as a viewer I am disappointed..
Hi ValmisFilms, My video in 10 days has 23,000+ views, I checked out a couple of your video on your Channel and yours videos in 5 days have ZERO views !!! I can help you, either keep watching and learning, or please find another Channel that does not disappoint you, Lou
Hi Lou, I think you missed my point. That is great that it has a lot of views - it has great content, I loved that. But my comment was not at all a "who´s is longer" kind of thing that ou, I have more views and whatever. I am no youtuber - but I am a filmmaker so yeah, I always notice when there are flaws in a video in filming and editing. So I gave you constructive critique - rather than attacking me you should look at your video and see if I was lying or what and next time make a better video and just you know get better at this. Or you are saying that you are a skilled filmmaker? The content is great, but yeah, technical flaws make this video unfortunately not as enjoyable as it could be when it is done better. Do not take it as an insult, rather learn from this. You have great ideas it seams but you need to work on your video skills.
Looks to me like your just using multiple alts "Valmis/Wellington". Go pester someone else and stop dictating production values with a person who has gone out of their way to bring you something you otherwise would not have had the privilege to watch. Why not head down there yourself next time and bring something of interest to the table? I see nothing on either channel with more than double digit views, which tells the world all they need know of your "advice".
I was born in '77 and loved watching every episode of Knight Rider in the early 80's along with Air Wolf (the air Knight Rider), Street Hawk (the motorcycle Knight Rider), Dukes of Hazard, The Fall Guy with Lee Majors (Heather Thomas what a fine sexy woman she was), The A-Team, Six Million Dollar Man (Bionic Man), Bionic Woman, Spider Man TV series (non-cartoon) Smoky & the Bandit, American Hero (loved this show) and soo many more the amazing 80's gave us! And I'm not even mentioning all the kick ass cartoons, game show, kid game shows, forever lasting 80's music and the forever never will be replicated 80's movies!
I just love this car when it was on TV!, and I hope to build me one. I know where I can get a Firebird just like this but obviously I would have to customize it to get the looks of KITT and there's a lot of manufacturers that make parts for the front scanning light as well as the interior pieces that are inside the car.
Great Work Guys I watched the show From the first it aired I lived in San Jose at the time of the show. i used to work for A.B. Dick Co. As a field service Rep. I drove all over the area I was on my way one day and on the way to San Jose. I was on Freway 680 in my rear view mirror The night Rider Car KITT was pulling up fast and passed me I Tried To Keep Up With KITT But I At The Was in My Works Company Ford Escort Hatch back ICould Not See Who Was Driving The Windows Were Darkly Tinted. WOW I Was So Impressed Acutely Seen KITT. That is something I Wont Forget. Always Woundering Who Or WHAT WAS Driving It.
This is the best interview I have seen about Knight Rider. Even better than the Jay Leno one. Thanks a lot to the three of you for making it possible. Special thanks to Joe and AJ for keeping the information safe for all these years.

Oh I just love this Lou! I watched the show I loved KITT and watched it every week. I also remember WWOR out of Secaucus that the one gentleman was talking about. Such a treat all the way around Lou! I as you know love Pontiacs and as you know of me Lou I love Firebirds and TransAm's my most favorite of the Pontiacs. Guess that is why I watched Night Rider. The never seen before items Lou we're awesome! Thanks Lou for the trip down memory lane! I think one of the best interviews you have done. Thanks again for sharing Lou!!❤
Sad to see them go. I think it was Dr. Seuss who said, "Don't be sad it's over. Be glad it happened." That quote helps me with people and things I know I no longer have, and I hope it helps with Pontiac's for you, Lou
It peice of history of our television series back 1980'S and still today also ! I love show series to plus got toys from it too also and was so amazing grow up with plus glad 2 guys in hear got lots from car also show memorial of Knight Rider too!

Awesome! I can hear the Knight Rider theme music playing in the back of my mind. You'll see your fair share of DeLoreans at car shows & events, but K.I.T.T will always be the real deal!
TheGunfighter45acp I remember when I was married my two boys got to sit in the actual KITT from the show that was on display at the Seattle Center Coliseum. My son Nathan was behind the wheel of KITT and Jason was sitting on the other side. To them that was the highlight of the entire trip!

When I was a kid in the 80's, I might have sat in this K.I.T.T. car. I did sit in one of the TV show cars though. There was a car show at the Armory in Albany NY, back between 83'-85', where K.I.T.T. was one of the main attractions. My dad was a Master Sergeant in the Army/Guard at the Albany Armory, so we got to go all the events. My brother and I got to sit inside and have pictures taken, but I don't have the picture unfortunately and I really wish I did.

it's so good to see fans of Knight rider ! I had the chance to see the show, back in the days : strangely, I miss the shows of 80 ies ! Sure I was younger, but TV shows were more "positive" and not as violent , gross or disturbing as the new TV series. Remember Knight rider, Magnum, P.I, M*A*S*H, Moonlighting, Hill Street Blues, The A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard, MacGyver and more... Thanks to remind me of this good period of my life ! :-)

Very good video Lou (even if a bit out of focus here and there, but hey...). I'm very shocked to see that this video is only about a month old, as I figured it would be a couple years old...so, truly a blessing to be able to see something so new. I truly hope that the guys in the video decide to (at some point) post those precise photos to the "Internet Archive Organization", so that other future fans like us can continue to enjoy what we just enjoyed here today (relatively speaking of course). I've found that they are Archiving all kinds of stuff and feel that this would be a good place for all of us to Archive the Knight Rider Legacy items. If I'm wrong or offended anyone with these thoughts/ideas, then I'm sorry, but this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it just as you are to yours. Hope to see more great Knight Rider material so up on the Internet (genuine stuff that is), as I'm a major big time fan. In closing, one question: what ever happened to Bonnie? Never found anything about her anywhere as far as the story line goes. Again, great job Lou, hope to go back to those guys later for a recap...
Hi Cornelius Ernie Yohe Jr, Let me start with, I don't know what happened to Bonnie, and maybe a Viewer can share knowledge. Glad to read from a Fan of the Knight Rider show that you enjoyed this video :-) Lou.
i got to see an actual kitt back in the early 80s in wheeling west Virginia. at a car show.My parents had an actual flyer from the event. But lost it 7 years later moving away from my home state.
I've seen a number of KITTs over the years. You'd be amazed that someone would go to all the trouble of getting the interior lights and controls exactly right...only to screw up the sensor eye. I ran across a KITT at Salt Lake Comic Con that was using the sound from the eye of a Cylon :/
Hi SpreadingtheMuse, Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this UA-cam Channel, Lou
Wow this is so cool. My wife and I watched Knight Rider Friday nights before we were married and after. Glad someone is preserving some of the history. There was a roast of David Hasselhoff maybe 10 years ago and they had a car on the stage that William Daniels talked through poking fun at David. I wonder where that car is or if it might have been this car? Thanks Lou your awesome.
I'm like AJ, I started out with being a fan of the General Lee & in 1987, someone in my hometown had a General Lee cruising around on it. I saw it one night parked at Hardee's & once I did, I was thriving with excitement but mom wouldn't let me get out to take a look. Yet, what got my fire started with KITT, ( fire as in, a large fan of him too ) was seeing KITT parked beside of the Christmas tree in 1984. I was only 3 at the time but I remember very clearly getting out of bed with Bedtime Bear from the Care Bears, lol, & as I veered my eyes around & walked around the chair in the den, just wow! KITT was sitting there waiting for me ( Knight Rider pedal car ). I opened the driver's door, pressed the door jam button & he started talking to me. I was starstruck & asked mom & dad, Doesn't Michael Knight need KITT back? lol :) Me and KITT had some fun on the sloped driveway at my other house I grew up at. I'd walk beside KITT up the driveway & stop just before the roadway, let KITT coast down the driveway backwards & when I got halfway, I'd sling KITT around a full 180, like Michael Knight did, & coast forwards the rest of the way. God do I miss those days! As for liking General Lee or KITT more than the other?, I like them both equal. When I see either, I get excited plus happy. They're both legendary TV star cars & I enjoyed both shows. :) KITT for his sleek look, scanner, cowl hood, bowling ball hubcaps, etc... & General Lee for his 01 numbers, Dixie horn, narrow push bar up front, & bright orange paint job.
Hi 001GenLee, Thank you for viewing and sharing your story and memories :-) Good times, and hope you enjoy this General Lee link too, Lou ua-cam.com/video/nHgUS-Hgx98/v-deo.html

I'd just like to thank America for the best TV shows during my childhood here in the UK. Shows such as, Knight Rider, Air Wolf, Street Hawk, Dukes of Hazard, A-Team, Battle Star Galactica and Buck Rogers - all these are great programmes and always will be...
Most of those programs were written by one ghostwriter. He was A child prodigy and has even designed many vehicles of his own.
God Bless America !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am from germany and I have to agree wholeheartedly ! American 80s pop culture had such a huge influence on the world and all those lucky enough to experience it.
I think we'd all be very different persons today had it not been for that.
so, let me join in on saying Thank You America, and keep up the great work !
You forgot to mention CHiPs..we all grew up with these shows.
@@drberto2582 Nobody ever mentions Automan or Manimal either.
K.I.T.T. is the coolest TV car, to me! Many of his "functions" are becoming practical in vehicles of today. Due to the TV show "Knight Rider," we've been allowed to dream the impossible, and make it possible. Thanks, for sharing this video!
Hi TheRockJericho, You're right, many of the features that were futuristic are available today. Regarding the video, you're welcome, Lou
The way they are in modern cars isn't as fun or cool as KITT at all, not by 1/8th.
Kitt was way cooler.
Awesome presentation Lou,
greetings and much appreciation from germany !
Hi CHUUMPASS, Glad to read your comment, and happy you're happy to see KITT :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I have driven a KITT replica in the UK in 2018

Lucky you :)

Hi Kenneth White, Good times, good times :-) Thank you for the kind words on the video, Lou

I sat in this car when I was kid. My dad and I were at Universal Studios when I was a boy. I am 39 now. What great memories this brought back of waiting in line with my dad to sit in the car and talk with Kitt. The car was overlooking the water at the Universal Studios theme park. AWESOME!

Cool video.
Is it a dimmer switch, or a switch to activate the high beams? 🤔
Appears 1967 Chevelle LSx answered the question.
Ilove this beautiful car
Hi Christopher, Happy to read you "love his beautiful car" :-) Lou
Nice attention to details Just Sum Guy :-)
+Lou Costabile: Thanks buddy:)....
Th eone on Leno`s show was the Firebird i believe, while this is one of the 3-4 trans ams`s
Just Sum Guy yes, thats what i notice. "Joe Huth" the taller guy, he has a stunt K.i.T.T. also. But his car was displayed at Universal with the season 4 nose.
This car had also a new nose in the Jay Leno Show, (the wrong nose design, but with better paint on it)
Huge Knight Rider fan here.

You have great ideas it seams but you need to work on your video skills.
good grief..Valmis..stfu
Ya, i can appreciate the content, but it's hard to watch! ..and ValmisFilm is only trying to help future videos..take it or leave it.
Great video guys, I really enjoy how you can feel the passion and knowledge come across about kitt and the show.

Legend has it that you can still smell Hasselhoff's aftershave in this car...
When I was sitting in the car I'm not recalling any "special" smell.

Thank you for the tip Terry Hayter.
it's so good to see fans of Knight rider !

Hi Voiceinthewoods, Thank you for sharing your memory with the car :-) Lou
I've seen a number of KITTs over the years. You'd be amazed that someone would go to all the trouble of getting the interior lights and controls exactly right...only to screw up the sensor eye. I ran across a KITT at Salt Lake Comic Con that was using the sound from the eye of a Cylon :/

Hi David, Happy to read this is a video you and your wife might enjoy :-) Appreciate the kind words, and glad you're along for the ride, Lou
